Well, technically they're #4, not #1. MAL only lists chart entries that are either anime-related (like Love Live) or non-anime releases by artists who have done anime songs at some point (which is why among others AKB, SMAP and Arashi are on that list despite the particular singles charting this week not being anime-related).
So since this week's top 3 aren't anime-related they're not listed here. This week's actual #1 are still idols though! Just mainstream ones. (Though come to think of it they've actually done anime songs previously too. Maybe not recently enough for MAL to list them or something?)

Well 30k is the minimum of LLS... coming from the successor of µ's. the 4th best selling anime since 2000.. I think that is a given ;)
25~30K per volume is low, considering Vol.1 has the first live event ticket lottery application serial code. Not to mention that the CD sales are higher than what the original Love Live Season 1 CDs ended up selling, so it's reasonable to expect Sunshine to average higher than a low 25~30K.
Based on current Amazon JP and storefront performance, it looks like 70K Vol.1 and 35K Vol.2~7. However this is only 4 episodes in!

I am happy aqours is selling high as usual.. but anime has started already but their cd sales is less than their 1st cd sales of 48k. Something is off.. I hope I am wrong. Looks like they still can't convice majority of the µ's fandom to support them.

Not as much as I expected, but I can at least be glad to say that these sales were achieved without any sales doping. So how do these sales compare to the Love Live! Season 2 CD sales (excluding the OP theme which had mobile game serial codes bundled)? In between the 2nd and 3rd insert song singles, so I think Aqours is doing very well considering they only debuted around a year ago.

Idol = Godness of japan.
Ranking doesn't matter, except for getting into the Top 100 Singles/Top 100 Albums Tuesday weekly list or the Top 200 Singles/Top 300 Albums Wednesday weekly list. After all, the rank is entirely dependent on what is the competition within a particular week.
A recent example is one of the Idolmaster albums getting #1 on the albums list without any real competition (#1 at 32,936 vs #2 at 22,186). Would you say that's impressive, even with the 4th Cinderella Girls live event ticket application serial code bundled on it as well? That's why it is silly in my opinion to make a big deal over weekly rankings.
There are plenty of Love Live releases, which would've easily gotten #1 within a week with amazing sales, but have been against mainstream competition who sells above 100K in week 1, such as SKE48, etc. So they don't get #1 in those cases, but would they be regarded as worse than a release that got #1 in a week because of no competition? No, of course not.
