TV Anime 'Tales of Zestiria the X' Reveals Cast and Staff

Production staff and voice cast members for the upcoming TV anime Tales of Zestiria the X have been announced at AnimeJapan 2016. The adaptation of the PlayStation 3 role-playing game is being produced by animation studio ufotable and will air in Summer 2016.

The anime features an alternate and original story from that of the game, with reference from Tales of Berseria. It is adapted by incorporate studio, Ufotable, directed by Haruo Sotozaki and an airdate is set for summer 2016. The opening theme song will be sang by FLOW, who also sings the opening theme song for Tales of Berseria.

Character voice overs will be changed to an extent. Miyu Matsuki, voice of Lailah, had passed away a while after the western release date (2015) for the game. Her replacement voice actress is Noriko Shitaya.

Totally hyped for this anime. Oh God I hope it is 24 eps. All other Tales adaptation had more than 1 cour length(symphonia had longer episode length).
Am I the only one who actually liked the game. Granted that the antagonists are a bit lackluster. Also obligatory still no Xillia adaptation?

Don't worry, as Ufo showed with God Eater, they are perfectly okay with shitting on the story and making bad story even worse, as long as they meet the deadlines. That one literally ended midway through the story with a lot of things changed for worse.

Ufo overall does not care for story or quality as long as they get the money from the game companies funding the adaptations, meet the deadlines and make their corporate overlords happy.

Been playing the game (well, 40 hours in but it's something)
Seeing this makes me motivated to play more and more of it haha xD Gonna finish it before the anime~

Can't wait to see Sorey, Mikleo and squad in action again. LET THE HYPE BEGINNNNNNNN

Yes! Ufotable's going to be back with their godly animation that will make A-1 Pictures and J.C Staff shit their pants. The only studios that are on par with ufotable's animation are P.A Works and Kyoto Animation.

Also, I'm so hyped since UBW is one of their best works to date. God Eater was decent but not their best work, though I'm willing to forgive them if they do a great job with this.

Well, assuming they'll use the same story:
- As a game, the first part of the story was decent but the second one fell flat, even though the second part actually had more potential than the first part.

- As an anime, the plot is s*** and I think the anime will probably turn s***, too.
Actually, I think those who haven't play the game yet be better off watching all the Shippuden fillers, instead.
Because unless it goes 24 episodes, there's just simply no way to keep the story intact.
And this is one of those story that will turn s*** if it's not intact.

Meanwhile, while probably won't have as many new features as Zestiria, Tales of Berseria already looks like a much interesting game to play.
Really hope that will also get an anime adaptation, one day.

So many announcements for summer. Played the game a bit and read some chapters, it was nothing special. Interesting how ufotable will handle this.

Not holding any hopes for this considering its adaptation of worst game in series and Ufo already shitted their pants twice with god eater and ufo ubw.

The only question is - will Ufo take a bad game andmake it worse just like with God EateR?

Holy cow Flow just retire already. Flow keeps popping up in franchise I don't want them to. They did have that memorable JIBUN WO, but their Cha La Head Cha La was dreadful, an abomination. I'd be happier if they had the game OP's singer do another song (or reuse the same).

Ufotable is a bit of a gamble. Hopefully it's 2-cour, as 1-cour is always a miss when it comes to video game adaptations.
