Anime 'Tales of Zestiria the X' 2nd Season in Production

A second season for currently airing Tales of Zestiria the X is in production for 2017. The announcement was made following today's broadcast of episode 11. The twelfth and final episode of the first season will be broadcast on September 25, 2016.

RPG game Tales of Zestiria is the 15th installment, and the 20th anniversary title, in Bandai Namco Studios' Tales series. An anime special, Tales of Zestiria: Doushi no Yoake, aired in December 2014, prior to the game's release in January 2015. Characters from the Tales series' next title, Tales of Berseria, were also featured in episodes 5 and 6 of the first season, prior to the game's summer release.

Only thing I liked about the anime was Alisha finally getting screentime she didn't get in the game and Rose being well Rose (Mai waifu)

lol Ufotable must want them disc sales with all that forced Fujo pondering which is probably why they adapted this in the first place. SorMik is so overrated I prefer SoRose,DezeRose, or RosAli instead meh.

I hope Berseria is a better game and also has its own anime adaption, but what really needs one is the Xillia games. *sobs*

Quality adaption for a quality game bleh. xD

Well, that's how they do things. Zestiria got 45 mins length OVA, so Berseria got x2 TV episode since Tales anime was already airing.

Exactly . That's why i'm saying this . It's like doushi no yoake, but they put it in the anime instead of a standalone ova ...

Yeah, we've pretty much known this for ages, but some confirmation is nice. Hopefully it's a bit better than the first season has managed to be so far (preferably without random diversions into another story, no matter how interesting).

It was Zestiria. Of course it would be boring.

However it WAS less boring than the game and it had quite good Berseria tie-in episodes, but otherwise it is still a VERY typical forgetable fantasy show with a completely grating on nerves chaste mr hero protag and no notable unique features. The fact that the directing and cinematography was so pedestrian also did not help.

However it IS still a decent popcorn watch. Overall value depends on second season and if ufotable manages to deviate from source material enough for it to not feel as trainwrecky as second half of the game did.

WAsnt this pretty much known from the start of the show?

Hopefully the second half is when they abandon Zestiria hard to salvage nonsense and finaly get on towards tying together Berseria stuff, which is far more interesting. Can't wait to see how they do that.

It is a good supplement (and surprisingly at par or better) to the games. Except ep. 9. Fuck that episode.
