It was announced at Tales of Festival 2015 that a TV anime series of Tales of Zestiria will air in 2016. Ufotable will animate the series, which is an adaptation of the PlayStation 3 role-playing game of the same name released in January 2015. An anime prequel titled Tales of Zestiria: Doushi no Yoake, also animated by ufotable, aired in December 2014.

Tales of Zestiria is the 15th entry and the 20th anniversary title in Bandai Namco Studios' Tales series. It follows Sorey, who is blessed with powers by a mystical spirit race known as the Seraphim who act as a stabilizing force in the land. He travels to free the land of Glenwood from the threat of the Hellion, creatures spawned by negative emotions.

The prequel was pretty lame, but damn visuals.
The setting has potential. Still doubt it will be something great.

One of my most hyped news this year! Now all we need is a Tales of Xillia anime adaption...

The announcement PV (that hasn't been publicly released yet) supposedly shows a new white-haired character and teasing a "continuation" of sorts. One speculation made was that the upcoming anime adaption may in fact be a sequel to the original game. But we'll have to wait and see.

The prequel was more of a teaser if anything to attract people enough to buy the game. Admittedly, Zestiria isn't the best Tales game, but it still is an entertaining one.

Might watch for bishounen white-haired guy. That's all anime is nowadays.

Yay

Now, this adaptation better be good.
But hey, I have faith in Ufo. Even though the prequel was meh, this is a tales game after all.
I expect character-driven story or :<

yehhhhh (the character is a cameo boss but who cares it's awesome)

UPDATE: They're adapting all the games. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2015-06-07/tales-of-20th-anniversary-animation-produced-by-ufotable-for-2016-airing/.88996

The studio ufotable produced the "Tales of Zestiria: Dōshi no Yoake" television anime special for Bandai Namco Entertainment's Tales of Zestiria game in December 2014, before the game shipped in Japan on January 22.

Other Tales of anime include the "Tales of Eternia" television anime series, the "Tales of Phantasia" video anime series, "Tales of the Abyss" television anime series, the "Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~" film, and the "Tales of Symphonia the Animation" video anime series.

Holy shit now I'm even more hyped, this is going to be amazing. 2 TV series (3 if they're making Tales of Zestiria a TV series as well), 1 film, 2 OVA series and already 1 special. Also that PV looked awesome, based ufotable.

All of these already exist. Already aired.

No, this is just a list of examples that Ufotable adapted in the past; not their future plans.

I've heard a lot of good things about the game series, so I'll be sure to give this a look. With ufotable on board, this should look great (and it most definitely does look great in that PV). On top of that, the music used in the trailer is pretty cool.

Oh damn, checked now and saw. My bad. Didn't read it properly. (-_-) Oh well, still extremely hyped for this and hope ufotable do re-adaptations of Tales of Eternia sometime seeing that one is quite old and got a terrible adaptation.

The major complaints were their waifu not getting enough screen time and in game bugs. Only one of the two will show up in the actual anime adaptation.

I've heard hardly any complaints of the cast or story itself.

The story is also pretty bad and non-sense you know, if it just Alicia fans complaint it won't be that big and get a lot of very serious 1 star reviews from fans.

Basically, none of any main characters match "Zestiria" meaning in ToZ.
