'Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal: Death Busters-hen' Announces New Voice Cast

A Niconico Live program of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal has announced new voice cast members for the upcoming Death Busters-hen series. The series also revealed a new key visual (pictured) on Monday. The delivery format of the new series has yet to be announced.

Haruka Tenou (Sailor Uranus): Junko Minagawa (Arata Kangatari)
Michiru Kaiou (Sailor Neptune): Sayaka Ohara (xxxHolic)
Hotaru Tomoe (Sailor Saturn): Yukiyo Fujii (Sakasama no Patema)
Souichi Tomoe: Takuya Kirimoto (Eureka Seven AO)
Kaolinite: Hikari Yono (Gantz)
Pharaoh 90: Takaya Hashi (Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam)
Mimete: Yuki Nagaku (Sore ga Seiyuu!)
Eudial: Chiaki Takahashi (The iDOLM@STER)
Viluy: Rina Honnizumi (Kyoukai no Rinne (TV))
Tellu: Naomi Oozora (Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha.)
Cyprine: Umeka Shouji (World Trigger)

Kotono Mitsuishi returns to reprise her role as Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) in the new season of Sailor Moon Crystal, along with the previous cast. Kon Chiaki has taken over as director for the series, and Akira Takahashi is creating new character designs.

Sailor Moon Crystal is a new anime adaptation of Naoko Takeuchi's Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon manga to commemorate the title's 20th anniversary. The first two story arcs were broadcast online on Niconico between July 2014 and July 2015.

Well i hoped Ogata Megumi is back to voiceing Haruka but Junko is a good choice either.

Not casting Ogata is such a failure :( I expected it, but still... There is place only for one Haruka Tenoh in my heart. I love what Ogata wrote in one of her last tweets, "Inside me, that girl [Haruka] who only loved Michiru lives unchanged. This was a loooong time ago, but she's a part of me even now. Please allow me to let her out from time to time."

T^T Time to rewatch S and Sailor Stars, NOW.

Sayaka Ohara sounds great, though I just can't imagine her as Michiru.

I'm having trouble accepting this a bit, but I think I will say that these are good picks. Ohara and Minagawa are both sex appeal.

I'm not really surprised with lack of Ogata: the only returning seiyuu they bothered to hire was Mitsuishi and the rest is new ones. They could re-cast more actresses, but decided not to for some reason. Sayaka and Junko are nice additions, they will handle it well for sure. I'm more curious about Saturn's voice actor, she seems to be fairly new in the industry.

For the time being I like what I'm shown, but remembering the utter garbage that frist seaon was and nowadays Toei's politics I'm cautious with being hyped.

I'm surprised they didn't re cast her

I mean, it's not like she's left the seiyuu industry (even if she's not getting as many roles as she used to but then again she was more popular in the late 90s-early 00s)

IMO this was the best arc of the original series and the one that left the most lasting impression. I don't see how they could do any better and judging by modern Toei production standards they wont. Provided some level of effort people who have never seen the original will like Howard and her character arc a lot though.
