I hope the directing is fine, the first series was really well directed in its 2nd half so I'm a bit disappointed to see its not the same person
I agree. It's like a different director directed the 2nd half of it, or maybe it was directed by a different director?

Otherwise the cast is not too impressive, Expected more names from first series since it was great.

I took a look at some of the works by that Shou Aikawa guy who's gonna be co-handling the series composition and it turns out he's responsible for the script of Chaos Dragon.
Oh, yeah. I forgot about that anime. That's the worst anime I have ever watched. Let's see if he delivers The Twelve Kingdoms or Chaos Dragon with this one.

Pretty ridiculous considering he was also responsible for the script of the original FMA, which I enjoyed. A lot of his other works are also rated rather low. With that kind of inconsistency, I might lower my expectations and tread lightly heading into this new season. Hopefully it's enjoyable though, I really enjoyed the first season.

The first one had the potential to be good, but unfortunately it's not written that well(especially the episodic episodes. Most of them were not good).
Ohhh I really don't know about Shou Aikawa. I hope this is going to be okay. He's really hit or miss and when he misses he misses as bad as any writer I've ever seen. I actually consider him overall the worst script writer in anime of all time particularly in the 80's. At the very least it doesn't seem like he's handling the scripts themselves which could be a saving grace if he goes batshit.
Really? I have only watched one of his works, The Twelve Kingdom. And it's actually really good(except the last arc). I hope this one will be as good.
