'Garo: Honoo no Kokuin 2nd Season' to Premiere in Fall 2015

A panel room session at the Otakon convention revealed that the second season of fantasy series Garo is planned for Fall 2015. The producer of the series, Masao Maruyama, also revealed that the second season will take place in a historical-like setting related to the Heian Period. In addition, this season will feature a female protagonist.

As part of the session, Maruyama also revealed that the Garo Movie will premiere in Summer 2016 with a brand new story. More information will be available at a later date.

The first season of Garo: Honoo no Kokuin (Garo: The Animation) aired from October 2014 to March 2015 with a total of 24 episodes. The franchise also inspired various other adaptations including live-action films, a TV drama series, and various anime adaptations. The second season's announcement was made as part of the franchise's 10th anniversary.

if & when they do another season i want Leon story to continue i want to Know does he hook up with Emma cause it was clear ha has a thing for her, i see so much stories with same age ppl hooking up i like to see for a change mc getting it on with a bit older woman then he, thats one thing i liked in Shakugan No Shana MC friend had a thing for Margery who looked like mid 20 & with glasses mid 30, its refreshing to see that

nice staff. though it's a pretty bold move to let Wakabayashi direct the new series. I mean, the stuff he has done on Naruto is rather infamous among anime fans just look at his crazy Naruto vs Pain episode..

I doubt that she can have Makai Armor because according to the live action series only males can have Makai Armor. Maybe she'll be a Makai Priest? I can only guess.

Nevertheless, I'm still hyped for a Season 2 of GARO.

They probably retconned that. The live action series also had a time limit on the armor, but that didn't seem to be an issue in the anime.

Just like the live action show, the GARO anime switches around with settings and protagonists. Very nice.

ill miss leon but his story ended so perfectly for me that im content with it, hoping this new protagonist will have even half as powerful character development as leon did.

Garo is not bad but there are many better anime out their that deserve 2nd seaosn

Figured it would come in the Autumn, but I'm kinda disappointed that it isn't going to follow the same characters as the first season. Oh well, maybe it could be more interesting like this? Either way, hopefully it'll be 2-cour again.

I wasn't too thrilled with the later half of season 1, and now they're going for a female wielder of Garo? And in some pre-historic period to boot? No, I don't like the sound of it...
