Lol, you didn't read what I said. "Besides the G rated stuff" I said, those are specifically produced to advertise and sell kid's merch. And all your examples are just that.

@ToG FMAB is 64 episodes.
Like what?
And no split seasons.
Besides the G rated stuff, nearly all of them (four cours). Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed Destiny, FMA 2003, NANA, Soul Eater, Gintama' etc
These are the big dogs of the industry. They all aired at prime time(excepting NANA that was in the noitamina block).
Let's see some titles, 4 cour, that I know that did around the same or worse than what World Trigger is doing:
- Precure. Each of its 4-cour seasons(11 seasons)
- Beyblade. Each of its 4-cour seasons(6 seasons).
- Jewelpet. Each of its 4-cour seasons(5 seaons)
- Tamagotchi. Each of its 4-cour seasons(3 seasons).
- Medabot. Each of its 4-cour seasons(2 seaons)
- Mon Colle knights
- Aikatsu 2nd Season.
- Full Moon o Sagashite
- Pripara
- Yumeiro Patissiere
- Majin Bone
- Marvel Disk Wars: Avengers
...
In general titles from 3-cours to long running anime don't sell much.

surprise Slam Dunk has a re-release but it flopped though
Good thing re-releases can't flop then.
you are right, re-releases are just way to get more sales especially for anime that needs to at least reach a break-even profit

The idea with these low budget shounen adaptations is to increase manga sales tho isn't it?
Not really. People normally assume because they don't like something or something doesn't have high budget the objective should be the source material.
For the majority of times things don't work quite like that though.
In a project like anime, you normally have various stakeholders with different interests. This includes the TV Channel, Source material publisher and author, Advertiser, Distributor, ...
When a work doesn't has much quality is most times because the group of restrictions from the stakeholders were too restrictive. Note that the restrictions aren't only money. For example, you can have the TV channel wanting the work done really soon, so you don't have time to do things as well as you would like.
Also the quality vary due to the Staff in the work, so a better looking series doesn't automatically means that it has better budget that one that looks worse.
Conclusion: Normally such a limited way of thinking normally is wrong. Is better to believe that a low budget series is low budget, because there is little interest overall between the stakeholders of spending much money on it.

Who the hell buys Uta no Prince-sama?
All the fans who want to have a chance at watching ST☆RISH live at the SSA in January 2016. They need the application serial code that comes with Vol.1 to enter into the lottery. If they are one of the winners, then they can buy advance tickets for the 5th concert. In most cases everyone who enters wins, but there are some concerts such as the Love Live ones, where there is just too little amount of seats to accommodate the number of fans who want to watch the concert.
Wait until the first non-event ticket application serial code volume, you should be able to see just how many of the buying fanbase are buying it for the anime and not just for the event ticket application serial code.
