I wish sidonia would sell more, considering how much they gave to it and how epic the show was...

And nice to see shigatsu and sao there too :)

Sidonia S1 sold well, and these are just first week sales. I expect in a year we will see S2 volume sales at 8k+, which is phenomenal for a purely 3DCG niche title with a relatively small budget.

When you make a comparison, it is usually based on 1st week sales (provided the titles for comparison has no stock issues). Sidonia S2 is clearly not selling as well as S1, so I don't see how your wish of 8K+ for the S2 volumes will come true... when even some S1 volumes which sold higher could not reach 8K+. 6K+ is certainly more possible based on S2's 1st week sales numbers.

Note: Sales in the brackets are from the Oricon BD/DVD extended lists.

Considering the cost to make seraph, I'd say it'll make a profit, they definitely didn't use high end animation that's for sure.

Eh.. yes it does.
6.3k is far from low, even with an event ticket.

Eh..no it doesn't

You're just a butthurt fanboy. 5k is low for an event ticket offer because it means a huge drop in the next, you pointing out the exact amount doesn't change anything unless you can see into the future now.

No wonder why Kadokawa is not happy for it.

As a past player of the game, the anime deserves to continue dropping in sales across volumes. Most expected KanColle to easily top the 2015 Winter season in terms of sales, but rightfully identified that it may not if the teitoku was not portrayed well. By episode 3 of the anime, the fears of fans was realised, so now we have Idolmaster Cinderella Girls gaining a free pass for the top of 2015 Winter.

It looks like the PS Vita game is going to sell a ton though, based on its ranking at Amazon, and at other retailers, so I don't think KADOKAWA is completely unhappy with sales. The anime did its job of advertising the original online browser game, and also pushing fans into buying the most likely superior PS Vita game over the anime. But of course they expected much much higher than just a measly <= 20K average. This is of course relative to KADOKAWA and fans expectations before the anime aired... as ~20K average is very very good in the scheme of things.

And it's boosted the manga.

I don't generally see many Shoujo anime sequels anyway.

Not surprised seeing bad sales AnY, but quite a shame since there will be no chance of a season 2.

2.6k isn't bad for a shoujo anime.

None of those anime "similar" to SNK manage to be as popular (looking at you, Terra Formars and Owari).

This year doesn't look as lucrative as last year.

How is 5k a flop

Studio Wit were expecting more than that to be honest. Let's face it 5k is nothing to brag about. Look at the sales of other series that aired this season then you'll see if it was successful or not.

WIT studio does not own the franchise, so I doubt they are expecting anything.
Not to mention 5.9k is above the mean average in most seasons(or better put, all of them).
