[edit]^Disregard what I said above, it's so obvious it hurts to realize I didn't get it at first. Looking at DVDs was supposed to tell us the figma is the main attraction, just like volumes with event tickets sell more DVDs.[/edit]
By the way it tells there are quite many people willing to buy Sonico BDs - after all DVD had the same figma. Or maybe they just went "I'm already spending so much cash on it, ¥1,000 doesn't make much of a difference" :P
The fact that BD hasn't dropped yet despite being sold out proves that it wasn't your average #2 hourly rank. Well, it might as well be the case here considering what juggernaut is above it.

Super Sonico was just solicited and its already at #3 on Amazon. I guess we know what will be the big seller of the Winter season
It's because of the Super Sonico figma that comes with it, I seriously doubt it'll last for long. Just look at all the DVD sold.

in a weak season I don't think its jumping the gun if something is that high already. Only other thing that might sell 10k is Nisekoi
Can't see Nisekoi selling 10K, reaction for it from Nico Nico seems to be extremely negative. Wake Up Girls and maybe Chuu2 have a better chance of hitting 10k.
Also, Kill la Kill sells 8788 while Kyoukai Kanata hits 5394.
If Nisekoi won't reach 10k because of the Nico Nico ratings, then neither will Wake Up Girls.
No idea how many people on NicoNico buy anime though.

How many copies of that swimsuit Sonico Figma are they making anyway? Can't see them actually making anywhere close to 10k of it considering the price, a ridiculous ¥ 12600 yen for Figma and BD.

Good marketing by Nitroplus. I never thought including a sonico figma in the bluray would have such a good reception it is beating the Madoka movie every hour. This should break 10k. Chuunibyou ren will not be lonely anymore!

I also thought it might be just trolls trying to ruin everybody's motivation to buy it because I as well find nothing unusual about the extras and the pricing.
Zvezda boost! Loli power. To go beyond chuu2koi ren just like that is amazing. Now the question is will it outrank chuu2koi on stalker for the rest of the season or not. And the actual sales of course.
With the caveat that it is super-early, yeah, that was an exciting start both to the show and to the preorder rankings. Especially since it would probably be slightly higher if not for the limited editions with and without the Venera standy splitting things up.

I think the extras is what made it unbelievable. The soundtrack bonus in particular from what I've read. They've been saying that you're paying an additional 4,000 yen for a soundtrack CD.
I have a feeling whoever is telling you about this "reaction" is blowing a couple reactions on the internet way out of proportion, or projecting their own feelings onto what they read.

Dailies for this day has also been uploaded. To think kyoukai will outrank kill la kill during these week is amazing as well. Good store boost and KENN magic I assume? I would not be surprised if it is above kill la kill when the numbers come out. I hope the new symphogear volume will be steady as usual. Gotta put more budget in dat season 3 :)

Looks like pretty much ecchi comedy and idol stuff followed by niche stuff followed by sci-fi action with Noragami as the sole outlier. See this trend continues to bother me, I know people think I'm being butthurt and what not but its really worrying as a long time fan of the lattermost genre who isn't particularly big on the former. And I know its not that any of these shows look like particularly big hits so much as I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that the sci-fi action stuff is doing that much worse. Maybe its just a bad season to be releasing that sort of thing considering how shows airing in winter tend to fare I don't know. Its possible the intended audience for this show is looking past Winter to Spring to spend its money. Like honestly I don't get it, its hard not to feel like Japan is sending a message of hard rejection for everything I enjoy about anime and embracing that which I am least interested in any season that isn't spring. Of course this only applies to Television since I'm well aware of stuff like Gundam UC, Yamato etc that was really well received and supported by fans.
Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio is sci-fi action and was one of the bestsellers last season. Japan certainly do support sci-fi action, they just don't support mediocre, badly written ones. Buddy Complex looks like a bad Terminator ripoff ATM so I fail to understand why the Japanese have an obligation to support it.
Jan 11, 2014 8:59 PM by scytheavatar
Instead of highlighting buddy complex, maybe kuuderes_shadow should highlight "utterly unrepresentative and statistically insignificant method".
Well I know that Sunrise Studio 8 hasn't had a show that has bombed in ages so history is sort of working in its favor, but I just have this feeling that after Gundam Age, Gundam BF and Valvrave all pretty much bombing that Japan has tuned out Sunrise original mecha series somehow. Again not OVAs and movies, but TV series. It'd certainly be a welcome turn of events of they could get at least one to become a hit, but if Studio 8 can't make it happen right now I don't think anyone can really.
When other studio have hit a year, flop a year, everything is fine but it's outrageous for Sunrise to go with three not-hits (VVV definitely isn't a flop, understand this already, also AGE and BF surely make up for low sales with merchandise) in a row even if they have best selling OVA of all time and sub-studio dishing out 20k sellers like it's nothing? And yeah, YOU and YOUR studio are discriminated, oh so poor souls.
