Oh my Arpeggio is selling quite well in the blue ray section but not so much in DVD sales i expect it because it is made entirely in CGI so people would see it better in blu-ray especially if they HD 3D television which is better cause blu-rays are higher priced so more profit = more Hope for a new Season

HighSchool DXD New is still selling pretty well

Infinite Stratos 2 well for a series that has flaws it is still selling well although the numbers have dropped that is to be expected it dotn get me wrongi still liked it but compared to season 1 it is a dissaponitment.

Looks like Unbreakable Machine doll was a failure, it didnt make the blue ray ranks and it barely reached the dvd ranks such a shame it had potential.

And speaking about noucome and Log horizon are the first volumes out yet or they still need to be released?

THIS. WA2 WHERE ARE YOU ?!
"Children of Japan. And those who were once children. Listen! This is not a dream. This is not fiction. In reality, your superheroes were always fighting. To teach viewers courage and the meaning of justice! No matter how many enemies there are. No matter how strong evil is. Just remember. Does any another country have so many heroes? Has any another country been protected by multiple superheroes? Stand with me, friends! Remember when you used to watch your superheroes!
Once you may have given up this dream. But today, you can be a hero!"

You're wrong here. BD threshold this week is very high(6.7k). judging from Machine-doll pre-orders it could really get about 6k which is not great but not even close to a failure.

My copy arrived on Thursday, though I didn't get it until Friday, and wasn't able to use it until today.
Bestselling light novel volumes of the year/all time* (and more in the same club including weekly series ranks etc). <-- No longer being updated. Sorry.

While I'm sure UMD v1 will rank, 3K is the Stalker prediction. It would have to be 100% underestimated to hit 6K. I would love to see that, I hope we see it but I will also fall out of my chair after I check my glasses... if that happens.

WA2 v1 will also rank but it too will not be great. I just hope that between CD, BD and game sales, other merch et al that we get closing chapter... Like UMD v1 I got my copy and it is great but I fear not enough others will buy it, sigh...

NNB is simply gorgeous. Sales well deserved!

this kinda makes sense but the DVD sales for any other show have similar numbers so why only referring to arpeggio as if it is a special case because of the CGI animation?

Always nice to see Code Geass. I loved the second movie more than the first and I can't wait for the third in the Spring although I will have to wait a couple months for stream. xD

MakoHaru duet CD I listened to that on tumblr. I really loved it <3

I really liked Madoka's OST too can never go wrong with Yuki Kajura and Kalafina that and the art is what kept me around. xD

This a travesty, it should be in the hundreds of thousands , I fear for the future of humanity, the anti spirals were right, human evolution has to be stopped.

Hmm. So It fell in ranks? Last time I checked total predictions were about 6k. Not that it bothers me but it was quite enjoyable series.

I'll be honest i think KLK is probably his weakest ost yet save for some of his early stuff, too much of it sounds the same and the stand out tracks sound like rejected shingeki songs though the weakness in the ost is probably because the show is using them pretty poorly and keeps replaying the same songs too much

Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

3K BD, 1.5K DVD were the final numbers. Was it ever as high as 4.5K BD? I can't remember it being that high, I thought 4.8K total was the highest I remember seeing the prediction but I will have to go back and check.

Why? That OST is weak as hell for something by Sawano and pretty much seems to have sold based on reputation alone. Just a whole bunch of loud, noisy grindy sounds with some poorly sung vocals without much thought or musicality put into them so much as trying to sound "epic". It's just not good music for a guy that I know can do better.

Everything else in the list is just kind of typical. Not really anything surprising or indicative of any sort of new or unexpected trend.

Although it's not Anime BD, I would like to mention that Love Live!μ's 3rd Anniversary LoveLive! received 20,593 in sale. It ranked third in BD this week below only to Monotagari and Code Geass as we expected from seeing the daily ranking last week. This is an amazing accomplishment considering how brutal the year-end week was.

That is a big number for just a fan disc. Taking into account Love Live's usual long tail, it is almost certain to beat Railgun S vol 6 in the overall number. Love Live has been an amazing success story so far. Other anime must be really jealous XD

Congratulation to Arpeggio and NNB as well. Many people are surprised at Arpeggio's sale number since it was animated almost entirely in CG. However, I personally have never doubted that it would be a sleeper hit. Similar to Girls und Panzer, Arpeggio has the potential to draw military Otaku in large number, regardless of how terrible people think CG is.

it is already starting another anime which is called Kantai:Collection or Kancolle for short will air in the summer based on the popular online card game of the same name namely focusing on moe anthropomorphism type girls of world war ii era ships in a way its like Girls und Panzer and Arpeggio combined.

Moe Military Otaku is the hottest thing right now and is continuing to grow

Shame to see Yahari not ranking on the Blu Ray chart (though the cut-off is quite high), likewise Freezing Vibration and Golden Time for both charts.

Unfortunately the Yahari volumes lacking bonus novels have not sold as well as the 3 with them. The last volume did add the second soundtrack bonus CD but it is quite short and the two best songs are just short anime versions of the long versions that were already included on the character song CD. Plus 6 clear postcard versions of the first 6 character covers by ponkan8. I love the series and bought everything for it, all 7 BDs, the LE Game with OVA and all novel volumes thus far. It has sold well, don't worry. As soon as Wataru Watari writes enough novels I expect it could get a second season if that's what the production committee wants to do.

Nearly 10K disc sales, hundreds of thousands of copies of novels per volume, 15K game sales, OP, ED and charsong CDs, other merch. It has been a success no matter what the final series average disc sales from Oricon say.

Mostly true but one of the three editions, the one I bought just because I liked the B side song, also has "Our Story" which was used as the ED for the final (12th) episode so that edition at least is the OP/ED CD; the other two are OP only.

Ah I wondered what was on the last volume. Thanks for saying. I did the same with buying all BDs (first time I've imported a full series) and novels even though I can't read them. I missed out on the LE game though.

Very happy that Non Non Biyori and Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio are selling so well :)

Though I'm kind of annoyed about the cut-off being so high, because I know a lot was released over the last week and I wanted to know how they were doing. 'Less than 6,659' is a bit of a broad range :/

I am happy about both and wonder if the Nano return is due to the fact that episode 12's ED is on one edition of it. I totally lucked out in getting it the first time just because that was my favorite B-side (usually I go for the anime cover but this time I went with the music and I'm glad I did).

Maware! Setsugetsuka is the best ED of the season IMO so I'm not surprised it is hanging around. I quite enjoy the solo versions on the BD1 bonus character song CD as well, though the character song is the real treat on that disc.

Time to play my favourite taboo game of the season!

"Pre-maturely guessing which anime will be a hit and which will bomb"!

Let's put Chuunibyo Ren and Saki S2 out of the game, since they'll both do well guaranteed.....

Wait.... too soon?

Yes.

I'd say wait atleast 2 to 3 week for a (very rough) estimate.

edit :
Here are a few estimates from 1 month after autumn started.
5.5k Non Non biyori -> Sold 8.3k-8.5k~ first week(just a rough estimate on the DVD's).
6.5k Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio -> Sold 10k first week.

So they can be rather far off. But its possible to know that won't flop.

Guess we've gotta wait for the first 3-4 episodes effect to kick in, right?

Mostly positive impressions from the shows airing this winter so far, except ImoCho, which is kinda weird. But eh, I'm one of those average guy, not an elitist, so I might have "shitty" taste.

Hoping that Noragami does well! SYD S2 too! Wait.... SYD doing well is a sure thing, scratch that.

I guess Amazon Stalker's prediction for NNB and Aoki was way out of bounce.

Yes, compared to season 1, it got down-graded a lot in sales, and in quality too. :/

S1 manages to average around 30k, S2 would be glad if it manages to hit 15k.

Eh, at least you peeps won't be seeing a S3 anytime soon.

Flopped is the wrong word as it implies that the project lost money or wasn't successful. Infinite Stratos 2 definitely made a nice amount of profit for the people on the production committee. As a matter of fact, the BD sales alone, even at 12k-15k per volume, could be making the production committee a profit and that's not even counting the novels and the merchandise.

That being said, Infinite Stratos sales certainly did disappoint as many people thought it was a lock for 20k per volume. I'm sure the production committee is a little disappointed but the same can probably be said for Monogatari Season 2, a show that was projected to sell around 50k and will end up around 40k or so, barring any late volume heroics.

^^^ 15K for just about any other show would be great but considering IS1's average, it is a flop. And deserves to flop, harder than that with what they've done to the series, in my opinion anyway. Season 1 was a lot of fun but had serious stuff too, not just for 2 minutes at the end of every second episode. Even the fanservice wasn't that good...

I haven't finished it yet, but what I've seen hasn't been all that impressive. It seemed like a lot of filler.

The thing is, I don't always require an intricate plot to like a show. Sometimes characters and their development can be interesting. But please let there be some DEVELOPMENT. Sheesh. I still like some of the characters in IS, but come on...

Glad to see that DxD is staying pretty consistent, even withing 100 of the first week for the previous volume. Depending on how the second week goes, maybe it could get close to 9k.

ImoCho is the type of series that almost everyone hates but it's guaranteed to sell better than most series..... at least I can't see it doing worse than Kiss x Sis. Noragami will probably do pretty well too since there's barely any competition for the Fujoshi money this season and the Fujoshis are guaranteed to flock to it just at least for the event ticket with Hiroshi Kamiya.

DYNAMITE! So glad to see NNB neko-punching its way in the chart. Volume 1 contains episode 1 and 2 right? Now I'm excited to see the sales for volume 2 with the legendary episode 4 in it.
