I hope it will still ranked next week.

That series' recorded sales have to date been fairly consistant around or just below the 40k mark. So if it ranks next week it will be a few k above the past few volumes, whereas if it doesn't it will be a few k below them.

I thought I mentioned it in this thread but apparently I somehow dropped it when I made the post. Anyway, the LN and anime-related books list is missing one entry:

49 かぐや姫の物語 5,889 17,715

This is the official novel adaptation of the Ghibli anime "Kaguya-hime no Monogatari".

Oricon needs to change the weekly bunko chart to weekly light novels too. Get with the times!

That would be terrible. Light novels sales aren't high enough that they could sustain an interesting top 50 every week, and where would you put the regular novels released in bunko format (which outnumber the light novels released in bunko format) ? If you put them with the non-Bunko releases, it would have to be extended to a top 100 or something (remember that Oricon sells its recorded sales data to companies and such, so they can't afford to reduce the scope of their rankings or else the companies wouldn't obtain as much informations on how their competitors are doing).
I wouldn't mind if they had a top 20 light novels in addition to the current rankings (kinda like how they have a top 20 anime DVD) for the few weeks where very little light novels get released, but replacing the current rankings just seems pointless and would cause more problems than anything else.

Blade Dance doesn't seem to have gotten a meaningful boost since the anime announcement, if anything it looks like its sales have slightly dropped this year (189,537 vs 261,662 in last year's rankings, and that difference can't be solely explained by last year having one more volume release than this year)
Anime announcements by themselves don't mean much to sales, actual boosts to source material usually appear only after first episode airs.

I wonder how much will Blade Dance gain if the anime start playing. The news of the adaptation itself comming boost the sale.

That's rather sad to hear but with the start of final arc I hope that thing start to change.

Kagerou Days has probably the most impressive sales given that it manages to be the #2 series with only 2 volume releases this year and 4 volumes in total (compared with SAO (3 volume releases, 13 volumes in total) or Mahouka (5 volume releases, 12 volumes in total).

Also, it looks like Oricon finally got the memo that light novels aren't necessary in bunko format and they actually included Monogatari and Kuroko no Basketball - Replace in their light novel rankings this time.

Also expecting an anime for Sakamoto at this rate. Seeing a Jojo Spinoff do well is also awesome. As for my wishlist, that would be a new season for Oofuri <3.
