Pochama ni tells the love story between Mugi, a fat girl, with her romantic partner who is considered a "Pochama" (the term refers to someone who likes soft and fluffy things). In other words, he has a preference for fat girls.

Thus, the author managed to do a very good job of using a female character who accepts her body; and that despite having suffered from judgments in the past, she faced them and learned to love herself. In addition, as much as the idea of ​​a “Pochama” boy may seem a little exaggerated, it helped to highlight the issue of fatphobia within the reality of ... the work that is a reflection of our society. Because, a “pretty boy” who likes fat girls was then labeled by people as a “waste”.

Thus, in a very cute way of reading, the author tried to show the relationship of her two characters, but with brushstrokes of harsh realities. Giving us the lesson that it doesn't matter if you're thin or fat, what you really need is to be able to love yourself and recognize your value to know not to accept less than you deserve, in addition to always wanting to be better.

It's one of my favorite romance manga. I'm kinda picky when reading romance manga. All the characters are loveable. The idea and plot are interesting. I only ever found a few of romance manga with chubby MC. I really like the balance Mugi and Tagami create even though Tagami can be jealous sometime and Mugi can be dense at times too. However, both are quite mature to deal with it. And the way the mangaka creates Mugi's character is something I really love. How do I say it? It kinda feels like something that really happens in real life. Also, it's the first time I ... learn the term "pochama", that means someone who likes soft and squishy things

I think this would have been a cute series, if not for the main guy.
So this will mostly be a rant about him XD

In my opinion, I feel like this is more of an obsession then a romance.
And he's not really the nicest guy around, since it seems what he wants
in a girl is who fits his chubby fetish and is also easy.

Throughout what I've read he just seems to push his ideals and has to realize
that he's wrong, be it pushing his girlfriend to be even bigger or
telling people other people they will never be happy in their body if they ... can't
like their body the way it is.

He also just always seems like he's depressed or in a bad mood, and it's not for me.
All of the other characters are very cute, so if you can look past that or like a male mc
like that then I guess you might like it.
