Horror Manga 'Litchi☆Hikari Club' To Be Animated [Updated 10-15-12]

According to the official website, Furuya Usamaru's horror manga "Litchi☆Hikari Club" was announced to get a short comical anime adaptation. It will be aired from this October. A prequel to the original manga titled "Bokura no Hikari Club" has been serialized online on PocoPoco website.

Crunchyroll has announced they will be simulcasting anime sometime soon.

Reading the comments of this thread makes a lot of people look really immature. Just because the genre of "yaoi" is put on this series everyone says they're not going to watch it. Disregarding the comedy shorts, the manga is actually really well done. Before you write something off as not watching because of the "yaoi" genre (that isn't even that big of a deal in the manga), I suggest you try it out first.

This in anime is somewhat incredible, The story is so Sick and full of madness, half of it worth because it makes you feel what's going on, the other is just madness, I bet many people will enjoy this and of course some other found it disgusting and not about the Bl, actually the Bl is the less part people should worry about, if you care for the characters well... that was on the manga, Both.

Don't let the Yaoi aspect bother you... This isn't a romance, and yes I'm also a Yaoi hater, but it's really only used in this manga/anime to add to the creeper effect.

It's a comedy based off of a one shot horror manga that's based off a play.. I'm assuming the play was german. The anime is completely different from the manga and doesn't have a linear plot...

No reason not to watch = watch for me, if it is seriously yaoi stuff or really boring I'll just drop it.
But every show deserves a chance and this could be really good.

About yaoi, there was like, one blowjob scene and it lasted 2 pages. You can easily skip it. That scene played a vital role anyway. If it didn't happen, we wouldn't get the toilet scene. And the gore part wasn't anything extreme. Just some guts and intestines.

Well this might be interesting.

Though I'm kinda wondering, much like ihateeveryone, how they're going to turn this into a comedy.
I for one did not see much comedic value in the main manga, nor the prequel.

As for people avoiding this because there's yaoi in it, really if you're that interested by the tags, it should not be a big problem. Just skip over the scenes, it's only a couple of pages or so. I find it odd that people are avoiding it because there's yaoi in it, and not because of the rape scene. Surprising.

If you've checked out Furuya's blog the comedic shorts shouldn't be surprising. He's put up humorous 4koma for the series before. I can't wait to see some of them animated :D

Who knows, maybe they're testing the waters and soon we'll get to see the manga in all it's animated glory. Hopefully it'll be an OVA or something.

And on the BL thing, yes it's ridiculous! If this were yaoi then that makes Berserk, Wolf Guy and Air Gear yaoi as well, what with all the brief scenes of boys kissing/getting raped going on in those!

Then you didn't get fair enough for a)It has homosexuality in it but it isn't a "yaoi" title and b) The show is just going to be comedic shorts.
