| anti. i would only ship characters that have chemistry/are meant to be (official), for example deku and uraraka (proof: he blushes around her, is self-conscious when being with her, uraraka also blushed and reacted in a strange way when asked if she liked deku or not), this ship is acceptable. however, deku x kacchan, deku x todoroki, deku x all might etc ships creep me out a lot. they make me realize that anime was a mistake. it's probably in my top 3 red flags that i should take note of when meeting someone. |

They [pro-shippers] are also usually very toxic and harass others for having different ships, which is why the anti-shippers are so against them because they can generate a lot of toxicity within communities, can be extremely aggressive, and can be completely fucking mentally deranged. (Ex: MHA fandom). Of course, I'm not referring to ALL shippers, just the ones that are super annoying and will attack other people for having different ships. You're allowed to ship what you want although I hate god-awful shit like gay pedophilia, but even then I have no right to tell you what you can and cannot ship, as long as you're not being an asshole and attacking people who have different views. |

Also, anti-shippers do not usually put themselves on a completely different realm, they tend to target shippers and call them names. People who don't want anything to do with shipping are neither in the pro or anti sides, because that only makes sense in the context of this fandom activity. Pro-shipper is a much wider term and includes both toxic and healthy people. Like, there's a lot of toxic shippers but it's not a group predefined as toxic. And so do people who don't like or enjoy ships or don't interact with that side of the fandom. However, the moment you hold a discourse that is basically "these people are [whatever shit] and shouldn't be fans" I'd say toxicity is inherent. |
