The past few episodes have been really bad IMO. The pacing on this one wasn't as bad as last week's, but it's still too fast. Haven't read the manga, but it seems they have a specific point where they want the anime to end and are rushing like crazy to get there in the next 4 episodes. Advancing technology this quickly completely ruins the "primitive" aspect of the show, which was supposed to be its main selling point. As I said in a previous episode discussion, I know that technology advancing at a realistic pace wouldn't make for a very entertaining shonen anime, but this is way too much. Pacing aside, the more the plot advances the more arbitrary what Senku can and cannot do becomes. How can he get that much gold (a rare metal with most of its readily available sources exhausted) but can't get a hold of nitric acid? And if he can't make gunpowder for whatever BS reason, why not bows and crossbows? It's not like Tsukasa has armor or anything like that, so they're just as good as guns. And on that note, if they can cast iron why not make armor? And if they have access to wood, stone and mortar, why not make palisades and walls? The point is that they shouldn't need 20th century tech to defeat people with stone tools; medieval tech would be more than enough. I'm more and more having to turn off my brain completely to enjoy this show, which is a shame, cause I really liked the early episodes. Y'know, when the stakes were lower and the story felt more grounded and personal. This is just another example of a manga author dumbing down his work to appeal to the widest audience possible and ruining what could've been a good story. Oh well. |

At first, I was wondering how they were going to pull this off. But, it looks like Dr. Stone never ceases to amaze me. > Cotton candy machine? I was wondering what about that. Then, the gold strips. Nice. > Offering candy to the enemy. Looks like it won't budge to her anyways. > Memes in Dr. Stone? Noice. > The waterwheel? Damn, Chrome had a vision and looks like he's already developed as a character and not a side-kick for Senku. Brilliant invention! > The age of manpower's over now the hydroelectric power plant's on! Damn, after the last episode. I was not expecting this. |

Remember seeing someone speak on this before? What exactly I dumbing it down for a wider audience? Because its definitely not something I can recommend to most individuals who are into anime like this. And I dont see them advancing technology that fast is nessecarily a bad thing, there are only two ways to go about making a serious like this, either a fast progression or a slow burn which I kindly take the fast part. The main aspect is still the same surviving in a primitive world, never changed never will changed because the goal is to get humanity to way it was thousands of years ago. And gold and nitric acid arguement doesnt make that sense because it was already there because chrome has collected stuff like that for years unlike nitric acid where there needs to be a bat for that to occur. And no senkus goal was never to hurt or kill them because he is trying to bring back everyone he can, while bows and arrows make sense I dont see how tsukasa would not be prepared and the chances of his army being as OP as him which, caught an arrow with his bare hands isnt a likely odd. And if you didnt know armor takes quite along time to make as one set takes an entire month. But idk, I'm not telling you how to think, I'm just saying that's outrageous thinking |

From cotton candy to Hydroelectric Power Plant... Chrome surprised me to come up with a waterwheel together with the old guy! Even Senku was pleasantly surprised seeing it. Things are really progressing fast. In between all this serious inventing, the comedy is still nice. The mention of "meme" alone in this episode was really nice. God damn, that's indeed one fine ass ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) |

Awesome episodes. The episodes where they make new scientific discoveries along with Senkuu's speeches about how they revolutionized human history are always the best, never fails to give me the chills. Hydro Electric power plant! This is the age of energy! Cotton Candy stuff was awesome too. The scene with Senkuu's creating electricity was just pure badass. |

Funny how Kohaku didn't care about her dad's shield:-D Big ups to Chrome for building the waterwheel with the old guy, progression in the kingdom is rapidly moving forward. I'm still waiting for Tsukasa's response, come dude do something! All those girls leering at Senku, too bad their hopes were dashed. The guy is popular with them ladies and this makes me proud. |

It's rule of cool, pure and simple. This show went from Man vs Wild at the beginning to basically Dexter's Laboratory now. The show is absolutely not about surviving in the stone world anymore. When was the last time we saw them having to gather food? Or fend off animals? Build tools? Shelter? That's the very part I liked about the show, and that's what I think the show is lacking. And yes, Tsukasa caught an arrow with his hands, and that was kind of the beginning of the dumbing down I was talking about. That's not something people can do (reliably at least). And talking about armor, yes, a full set of forged steel armor of high quality would take an eternity to make with their level of technology, but: 1) it doesn't have to be steel. Iron or even bronze would be just as good against stone weapons; 2) it doesn't have to be forged, as they can clearly cast iron; 3) it doesn't have to be full sets of armor. Single pieces, like plates and helmets, are already good enough if you pair them with shields (that's the kind of armor people used up until the high middle age); 4) it doesnt have to be high quality or even polished, basically anything made of metal will stand up to stone weapons; 5) if they could make katanas in such little time they can certainly make armor, shields, bows and rudimentary walls until spring. |

As well as bows wouldn't be that efficient as senku is not someone who deals with combat and using a bow isnt that easy to do, plus with tsukasa having an finite supply of revival formula and them not batting an eye killing there fellow comrades I dont think it would be an effective way to go about things, especially since its 42 vs how many tsukasa has revived. Routing the enemy is the best strategy they can do from a writing stand point as there not literally doing something impossible with some pieces of armor. If you like this show you would love eyeshield 21, it's basically tsukasa catching an arrow but with every football team! |

Senku said that he wanted to win without causing casualties on either side. Given that philosophy, he is taking an approach that he hopes will avoid massive bloodshed. Essentially Senku is a pacifist who is attempting to defeat a violent aggressor by the use of scientific methods instead of military methods. So, instead of building up an iron age army he is trying to take out his opponent via psychological warfare based upon technology. |

I'm beginning to think that Chrome is the bigger genius here. I remember Senku saying that they're just dumb apes and maybe he's alluding to him only having gotten to where he is through hard work with very little talent. Well, at the very least he's a mathematical genius and that has more to do with talent but his knack for science might only just be due to a lot of experience. A whole shitload of experience. Also, he got 3700 years of just allowing his mind to roam free. Ofc, with no way of testing out the ideas he might come up within that time, it wouldnt have meant much but he at least got to come up with them just in case. Like he's got an answer for almost every situation bcos of that. |

Homura is the sexiest girl I have seen in anime this year. And probably ever. Not the most beautiful maybe, but the sexiest. She is made to be 100% sexy, that's for sure. Too bad she is on the enemy side! Love seeing the science, and thinking of Western history making all these things and more. Science history is awesome. What gets me is that you could actually have done all this thousands of years ago. If only they had known. (But it's like the Egg of Columbus, of course.) Why didn't Tsukasa just march off with his soldiers? It seems the grace period hinges on the fact that they live on two islands, and they have food stored up for when they cut off the bridge. A siege wouldn't have the food. This makes it very important that the writers put the village on the islands, good thinking. |

I was just responding to someone who said the show was still "all about survival", which it isn't, because, as you said, they now live in a village. That said, their food still has to come from somewhere. There doesn't seem to be any hunters among them, and they had clearly never even considered eating grains until Senku made noodles from millet. They don't seem to have any farms or livestock. They also have alcohol but it isn't clear what they are fermenting to get it. What are these people eating? Just fish? |

The episode was fine, they're doing a great job of adapting the manga and adding some tidbits here and there. But holy fucking shit, translating "nori-tsukkomi" to "meme" is peak translation bullshit. Can TL teams please stop trying to localize terms that don't have a proper translation in english? I mean, fucking hell, what happened to good old TL notes? Is that too much work for them? Fuck me. And the worst of all is that now we got memelords going "er mah gerd dr. stone haz meme yo top kek" in a bunch of anime sites. The cancer is real... |

I kinda disagree with Chrome getting the idea of waterwheel "by himself". all the hints were there and he only just had to put 2 and 2 together. senku was so focused on making PCBs that he missed the forest from the trees. what I wanna see is how are they gonna make phone screens. also this is now my second anticipated show. the first being Noukin. |

I like this episode, seeing Chrome inventing a waterwheel and acquiring hydroelectric is nice too see. The making of cotton candy was fun, and it is nice that Homura decided to eat some of it. Still excited to see Yuzuriha and Taju. |

The use of cotton candy was cool. A lot of characterisation and some comedy in this episode, but things really got serious in the last few minutes. Wow |

Another absolutely amazing episode! They really did it! Damn, they now have infinite electricity source! Now they will be able to progress even faster. I love how the writer did all of this, this anime is such an amazing job! I'm loving this so much. What was that moment when Ruri was looking at Senku? hmmmm xD And i wonder if they will manage to take that girl to their side, it would be interesting to watch that. |

Because I don't think she dyed it, espacially when dying a leather probably isn't even possible, and also we all know what is Tsukasa's attitude towards technology. I actually came up with a stupid theory, maybe due to all the nuclear plants that obviously exploded when humanity disappeared some animals could have lost their hairs and their skin changed color due to their evolution along the years But we never saw any animals other than birds in the anime idk actually there is no evidence that would suggest that power plant explosion or radioactive leakage have very detrimental effect on environment. |

Chrome and the old craftsman are really awesome for pulling that off, they now have hydroelectric power, the y can basically use that to power up the village and charge the phone that they will make. I wonder what kind of batteries they will use, would it be Li-ion? |

Loved seeing their reaction to the cotton candy. What I love is that Chrome proves that even if Senku was killed by Tsukasa, Tsukasa cannot prevent science. People will discover, use, invent, reinvent and improve. Of course, things are much faster with Senku and his super human 10 billion IQ but at a steady pace or turtle pace people would still evolve. Senku is really proud of Chrome. |
