| I mean FMAB just in the past like 2 years almost lost the top spot on two occasions. If I were to wager a guess unless the next season of Gintama is just terrible it could be the season that takes it. Granted the last time Gintama tied FMAB a legion of fan boys appeared either downvoting or upvoting both entries. |

| somebody (who i assume is banned) made a point on the malwiki that one piece is a strong contender for 1st. as mal uses the 1/5 rule once it ends, even if we assume at ep 1000, means that scores of people who have only seen 200 eps will be counted. anyone who hated the show from the start would not have watched that far so their votes won't be counted. only people who dropped it after that milestone would be counted but they would obviously be in the small minority as most of the major naysayers would not have watched so deep. of course we know OP will probably go well past 1000, and people could just lie on their list, but their point made sense to me given what is known about the rating system; maybe there is a check for something like this that is either implemented but not known widespread or is to be implemented in the future. same applies to conan, and i guess shows like sazae-san but it doesnt have nearly as much watchers on mal specifically. @ me if someone knows more about this |

| Literally never. Even before FMAB aired, FMA 2003 was the second highest rated anime TV series only to death note. The FMA franchise, in general, is so well beloved that I can't see anything like that happening again in the near future. |
