The wraparound band on the 23rd volume of Hoozuki no Reitetsu manga, which went on sale on November 22, has revealed that the series will be receiving a new anime project. The first installment of the new anime project is an original animation DVD (OVA) that will be included with the 24th limited edition volume of the manga, shipping on March 23, 2017. Partial staff for the OVA has also been announced.

Staff
Chief Director: Hiro Kaburagi (91 Days)
Director: Kazuhiro Yoneda (Akatsuki no Yona)
Script: Midori Gotou (Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san. (TV))
Animation Production: Studio Deen

In addition to the OVA, a second and third installment has also been planned for the new project. An exhibition will be held at the Shibuya Marui store in Tokyo from November 23 to December 5 in commemoration of the series' 5th anniversary. The author of the manga, Natsumi Eguchi will hold an autograph session on December 3.

Hoozuki no Reitetsu has been serialized in the Morning magazine since March 2011 and currently has 23 volumes in print. A 4-koma spin-off manga titled Hoozuki no Reitetsu: Shiro no Ashiato by Monaka Shiba has been serialized in the Nakayoshi magazine since December 2015. Wit Studio adapted the series into a 13-episode TV anime in Winter 2014 and three OVAs that were bundled with 17th, 18th and 19th volume of the manga between February and August in 2015. Sentai Filmworks licensed the TV anime for North American distribution and released the series on a single BD/DVD box in February 2015.

>another series switching to deen

Holy sht, deen is like a dumping ground for when the first studio doesn't have time for sequels and the publisher can't wait.

Good news. More Hoozuki no Reitetsu should be fun. This franchise is quite underrated imo.

Please be second season, this was one of my favorite comedy anime, even if some of it relied heavily on knowledge of Japanese folklore.

And DEEN has never let me down with comedy shows, so I doubt they'll ruin it.
