Bandai Visual store? Those sales aren't reported to Oricon as we have the Girls und Panzer stock issues as evidence of this. Bandai Visual personally restocked Vol.1 and Vol.2 at their store, which should've been around 8K and 6K copies respectively if we use Vol.3~6 sales as the basis, but this number never showed up in the Oricon rankings! |

So Re:Zero really got the boost I was expecting it to have. Episode 15 be thanked. It really held and still holds its own in the daily oricon rankings. I'm still surprised to see the first two volumes stay within the top 50 while volume 3-9 were hanging around the top 200 until now. This one seems to have really really strong legs and possibly a really high average. Give it 2 weeks and the 10k should be breached for sure. Episode 17 should have an equally big impact on the sales and if not episode 18 will seal the deal. Nice to see that JoJo gets some love as well and I can't hold back a malicious smirk when I look at Kabaneri's sales compared to the estimate. Macross should at least make ~12k but like others say I can't see it making more than 15k. |

And in top 200 isn't that high when compare to what Shirobako done when every 2nd cour episode aired. Still, great work for Re:Zero's anime staff. |

It looks like a big drop right now from season 2. I know it's only 3 episodes in but if you watched the sales of things like the FinalLoveLive concert disc and the Muse Live clips disc you'd see what LoveLive's sales normally look like. The existing fanbase still hasn't decided that Sunshine/Aqours is good enough to support. They continue to support Muse even though they're effectively done aside from some best of and solo memorial CD boxes. |

S1 did at this stage? If I remember right muse had an existing fanbase from CDs/MVs/LNs which was slowly build over 2 years before anime hit in here it's little unfair to Aquors since they have to immediately follow up on sensation like muse |

eromangasensei said: It will outsell LoveLive S1 surely, at least 35-40K but still a steep drop. It is a bit unfair, expecting them to be loved and supported by the fans so soon, fans which may feel that Aqours pushed Muse out. Some have said it may have been too soon to have anime for Sunshine but Bandai felt otherwise, must have felt that having a long dead zone with no anime and no updates for the mobile game would have hurt the franchise.hpulley said: eromangasensei said: ...good thing we have new Love live this season Actually LoveLive Sunshine's presales while above 10K for sure, above 30K and still rising will be a big hit for sure they are not actually that great for LoveLive as a franchise. Because for whatever reason that shit sells. I don't think you have any clue on what you are talking about. That ''shit'' don't automatically sell. It just has a more reliable buyer base than historical anime for example. Taking ecchi/harem highschool anime for example. In the entire year only the minority of these titles sold average or above average in disc sales. They are made, because they easy to, and rely on merchandise sales to break even. Same goes for ''moe'' anime. There is only very few hits or successful anime, like K-ON or most recently that usagi anime. There are many clones that straight up bomb on sales. Ecchi anime and maybe ''moe'' anime, if I'm not mistaken are not as saturated now. They are less than before, because the trend is not as it's peak, and is declining. Most common trend in recent years are LN adaptations. And those also don't do good on average. They also depend more on a boost to the light novels themselves. There is really no guaranteed formula for success or to be a hit. An anime will have to have more than a couple of popular elements to have it's ''shit'' sell, and. Who thought a remake of an old gag anime would be a mega hit? nobody. So really dismissing what type of anime bomb and what sells is really ignorant and shallow. Many unique anime have become successful and vice versa. |

Well, with how they handle Delta, surpassing what Frontier managed to achieves years ago seems like a fairytale. I've even seen some Macross fans hating Delta and refused to acknowledge it as a part of the franchise. While I don't go as far as hating it, rating it more than 6/10 seems like a hard decision to be taken. However as a part of the fanbase since Superdimensional, I do hope it'll sells well (atleast above 20k). I'll still consider buying those BDs if some good change happened. |
