| Great arc, better than Benizakura IMO. Itou's death was touching, I dropped a tear ;_;. Gintoki's speech is beautiful as usual, this guy is so impressive. Funny to see that Yamazaki is still alive ;D |
| Great arc, glad it got some good focus on the Shinsengumi (plus some awesome action). Shame about Itou, I can't really forgive him for the crap he's pulled but it would had been interesting keeping him in the cast. His death was depressing. I doubted Yamazaki died but I had a panic attack when they first showed his picture at the funeral before they showed him hiding. And of course that funeral wasn't even his lmao |

| I wasn't expecting the Shinsengumi arc to turn out quite as nicely as it did, so that was a pleasant surprise. Shonen series' (and anime in general, really) are awfully fond of fleshing out the antagonists right after they're dealt a fatal blow of some sort. I was expecting it to some extent, but Itou's death was still pretty sad. Fight sequences were animated really smoothly and the Yorozuya and Shinsengumi were cool. Also I cringed at all the injuries they took (Gintoki and his steel strings, ouch) |^': |

| The Shinsegumi Crisis Arc started with Hijikata being an otaku. Who would've guessed that it would take such a serious turn. I didn't expect that Itou would be killed! 5/5 |

| A really great arc. Hijikata got to shine. Kondo got to shine. Sougo got to show his flashy skills and be a bitch. Gin san was a badass. Great to see Takasugi again. |

| Ito is the most tragic character in Gintamaverse thus far... I cried a bit at his death. Easily one of my favorite Gintama arcs; definitely better than the Benizakura arc. I'm relieved Yamazaki is still kicking after all. |

| Yamazaki didn't die! yay, he's cute~ he was so pissed off they were more bothered by the dog than him and had a bigger picture, I'm hardly surprised, I would be too lol. Itou did die though, awww. But at least he got a samurai death instead of traitors one. Although considering he got shot up last episode in this one the bullet holes looked like they'd disappeared :/ A really good end to the arc with awesome action! Is Hijakata cursed forever now? Hijikata and Gin <3 Gin always makes amazing speeches <3 I just found a really cool Gintama Tumblr theme I'm gonna use <3 :3 |

| I wish Itou had been shown before - it felt like he dropped in out of nowhere, lasted for the arc, and was conveniently taken out by the end of it. Other than that, a pretty good serious arc. Doesn't get more badass than taking a whole helicopter down with a wooden sword swing - Gintoki really is a demon. |

| This arc really shows how great the writing of Gintama is, even though we only met Ito 4 episodes ago they were able to develop him enough that his death was emotional. I slightly prefer the Benizakura arc but this one was still really great. It's good that the serious arcs are well separated so they don't lose their impact. |

| Another great arc. It was just amazing how Gintama can transition from comedy to drama so well. I had tears in my eyes for some emotional scenes then next thing I knew I was laughing so hard lol. And it's great that Yamazaki isn't dead. So Otaku Toshi will remain in Hijikata foerever <3 hahaha |

| This episode was spectacular. Ito's death hit me pretty hard, before I knew it I was crying, heh. Yay, Yamazaki's alive. This arc is probably (personally) the best one yet. |

| I'm commenting so I'll remember this arc. This was a really great arc. Itou was a very good character, Only Gintama can make me cry for the death of a villain, at least he died the way he wanted to. Also, Yamazaki's funeral was hilarious. 5/5 loved this arc. |

| Itou's death was perfectly handled, though of course Yamazaki didn't die but they just didn't care about him, poor guy XD nice way to end the Shinsengumi arc it was great overall... but it means that Hijikata will always keep a part of that otaku soul into him? xD |
