| Summer time! Trying their best to get goods and transportation for outdoor activity. So Makoto has a fear for sea for a reason (someone dear to him passing away), though he's very forward about helping out. That island with red hair character's school!! So coincident! Wow, to swim to the three islands! Seems like red hair character knows about Makoto's fear. Megane guy woke up in secret to practice and storm happened. Makoto to the rescue... but will he be ok? I was actually lol @ "Swimming during the midnight is dangerous, please do not copy" message until thnder storm actually came... |

| They're sure training hard, swimming from island to island. Rei is trying his best, but I guess he doesn't want to slow the team down so he's practicing at night. That's obviously not a good idea, but he probably didn't think about it too much >< I wonder what's up with Makoto and the ocean, that both Haru and Rin are worrying about him. I'm liking Rin more now, glad to see that he's a good brother. The scene where he was talking with Gou was cute. Anyways, hopefully everything will be alright next episode! |

| Makoto is so sweet tbh. When Rei went out to swim alone in the middle of the night, I knew something would happen. But... finally some action? I swear if next episode gets delayed for a week too I will flip everyone. |

I, for one, am absolutely terrified of the ocean at night. ffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-- Okay on the bright side i'll just say that I love the bonds between these characters. Makoto just makes me d'aww constantly. ;~; Look at that, Rin even walked his sister, I was sure he was just going to be an asshole and leave her there on the bench. Though i'm still sure that boy is not human...smelling mackerel from all the way over there just what. |

| I thought Gou and Nagisa looked really cute together in this episode - she's just as bubbly as he is when she's excited about the trip! If only they could... sigh, I know, I know, "het is ew", but damnit, a straight man can dream! | About time things start to get serious, I wasn't sure if the fanservice was going to make me stop watching this, but with that cliffhanger ending, I'm actually excited to see what happens next! This was a pretty good episode, Amakata looked nice in that outfit, and that's a pretty tough regimen that they have to go through, if only Rei hadn't gone out to train at night though -_- I also like how they showed Makoto's fear of the ocean which occurred in the High Speed novels, about time we're getting some plot! Can't wait for the next episode! |

| Thank you, writers! This episode was 1000000 times better than the last. Makoto is officially my favorite of all of them now, and I can't wait for more of his backstory to be revealed. Rei is hardworking and has great spirit. I keep switching back and forth because I was unsure if I liked him, but now I'm fairly certain that I do. Let's hope both of them are alright! |

| Good episode. Pretty funny. Gou is still so cute :) I loved her little laugh when her brother told her he'd walk her home. I would totally be like that with my big bro too! ^_^ Still more hotness~! Hehe :D And this time in island form. ^_^ Oh lol! I bet the guys are disappointed that Gou-chan's swimsuit only came in a very small shot, and it was a one-piece! Haha x3 But this show is about my Iwatobi BOYS, thank you very much. :D I'm assuming that Makoto had some family or friends who drowned or something, and that's why Makoto is so intent to save Rei. I really do feel bad for Rei though. I would hate to be swimming in the ocean at night and get caught in a storm. That freaks me out; I've always been rather apprehensive about snorkling or doing any kind of swimming in the ocean. ^-^; I think it's cuz of my fear of sharks, lol~ And I'm pretty afraid of drowning as well... --But, as they say, you're much more likely to die in a car crash than from a shark attack!  I lol'd. Jealous Rei~~ hehe, so cuute. x3 Anyways, good episode. The new setting was refreshing to watch, and the overly-used jokes have been dropped. I have a new-found excitement for the upcoming tourney! |

 This part made me laugh, poor Rei. Rin and Gou part was really cute (and Rin asking/worrying about Makoto). Maybe we'll find out truth behind Ama-chan's previous job when Sasabe comes to pick them up. |

| The interactions between the first years were so cute in this episode! Gou and Nagisa excited over barbecue, and Nagisa and Rei praying for Makoto's goldfish. <3 AND RIN'S A GOOD BROTHER. Not that I doubted that, but I was waiting for more scenes between the Matsuoka siblings. And it's nice to see how both Haru and Rin care for Makoto. I love the Mako/Haru bromance and Rin's such a tsundere. =u= As someone else mentioned, I also highly recommend reading High Speed! if you want more insight. It doesn't really spoil Free! but it clues you in to their fears and how the boys regard one another. |
