THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Alibaba starts the action this episode. Holy shit though! Morgania with that falcon punch? I'm disappoint. I hope Morgania can make up her damn mind soon and be free. Well, at least Aladdin is there. Heh, two genies this episode and it's nice to see Judal's brief appearance. He kinda looks like Gray from Fairy Tail for some reason to me. |

Judaal appears? My baby Kimura Ryohei is voicing him! To think he would appear so early! I haven't read the manga but I know enough to know that Juudal is popular! |

I didn't know that all Djinn are blue in color? Well, seeing how both Amon and Ugo are blue. Guess all Djinn are blue then. A great episode. Glad to see Judal, Kimura Ryohei's voicing suit him really well. Please don't mind me comparing with manga. Being Magi manga Fan, I can't help but comparing. The way they portray the face off between Alibaba and Jamil isn't as good as in manga. Maybe it's just me but Jamil look more pitiful and scared while Alibaba got the look of pitying him and proud. Making it look like Alibaba is just playing with him, totally overpowered him and so, Jamil knows that he is no match for Alibaba at all . But in anime, it looks more like Jamil give up after dropping his sword. Well in any case, not as impressive. |

LOL Jamil is owned pretty badly. Icebreaker93 said: Great episode but its fast paced for 3 ep they covered 17-18 chapters. Great IMO. Fast and complete. @wishbook Ya....no way they will squeeze that much in, no way at all, if anything this ends with the Balbadd arc, 70+ chapters is more than enough for 25 episodes, just look at Kuroko it did exactly the same thing. |

Shaduge said: if this may become a long running anime then why are they rushing this? Because they don't want to mess up like almost every other Shounen and give excessive boring filler, its not that hard to understand. Also if they are set for 25 episodes to test sales than its best to capture the main points in these early arcs while giving full detail to the Balbadd arc. |

There were some differences though obviously. And Judal appeared! And I can't wait until Sinbad's debut. I wish this could be a long running anime, but I doubt that would happen. I hope that the Balbadd arc stays faithful to the manga as much as possible though. |

Overall decently alright episode, a bit rushed. Though I liked this one slightly more than the previous two episodes. Aladdin's voice still sounds feminine, though there were few moments where his voice sounded just right. Hope this happens more often in the later episodes. Like some of you guys said, I wasn't expecting Amon to be...blue. I was imagining him as either orange or yellow. To me, the scene with Goltas breaking Mor's chains could have felt more dramatic and significant like in the manga, but I think they did it alright. I also wish they expanded more on Alibaba's fight with Jamil than they did here. Or at least to show how awesome Alibaba's sword play is :) Huge highlight for me was actually Judal's first appearance. Even though he only talked briefly, his voicing was fabulous! Despite not being a Judal fan, I'm actually quite excited to see his next appearance. 3.5/5 Can't wait to see Hakuei! |

So happy Judal made his appearance, even briefly. I had a pretty strong feeling that they were going to keep his debut the same as the manga. Loved Ryohei Kimura's voicing for him. <3 Aside from that, really great episode. Happily and impatiently lol looking forward to episode four~ |

Let the adventure begin... Judging from the ED... They'll at least go China and Mongolia, Japan is probably a Mandatory stop as well. Oh yeah... Africa. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I gathered(Lions), I think that's where Morgiana is from... I think the 2 will want to take her home one day. Hmmm... They're kinda too pale for Middle Eastern/Africans... Ah wells, makes it easier for overseas company if they ever decide to localize the show, save them the trouble of repainting their black skin blue. /sarcasm. EDIT: Morgiana is cute! |

Another great episode.I wanted to throw away my monitor from window because of Jamil though. He is so fking annoying...how can he treat people like that and be proud of it.Anyway, new character appears and interrupts most interesting conversation of this episode *facedesk*. 5/5 cant wait to see some Morgiana arc or at least episode. |

Loved it. I can't blame the producers for rushing the episode, since they have so much to try to fit in and have it make sense at the same time for just 13 episodes. The arcs later on are a lot more important than the ones they're doing now. But I'm wondering how they will introduce Hakuryuu |

This episode had a big plot hole but over all I enjoyed it. Jamil was a prick and he got what he deserved. I didn't like how Alladin conveniently appeared out of nowhere with the magic staff. They didn't even know what to look for when they first went into the treasure room full of stuff. I'm supposed to believe that Alladin wakes up after being knocked out and suddenly finds that staff in a room full of stuff in time to save his friend. All of this without showing us how he even found it in the first place - just believe that he found it right away because he's the chosen one. Shyolk said: Ugh! Too big of a plot hole to suspend belief. On a side note, Kaori Ishihara has really improved in sounding like a boy. I remember in the first episode that she still sounded really feminine, but now she's sounding more and more like Alladin. |

I feel like I want to joke that Jamil had just met a monster or a Witch... And god IDK but I want to punch him so much. But anyway, for a first-timer discovering the series, the action scenes are done well and Aladdin and his "magic". What a cute mahou shounen~ P.S. i like Morigana. Very strong, it's scary. But I am like "Yay!" when she is finally free at last... Or so I hope. She would make a great addition to their "adventures". |

He probably won't be introduced for long and will only have a few lines, not pertaining any real importance during this arc. But that's just my speculation. |

Spectacular episode! Pretty damn exciting when they got to the end and Morgiana was freed. Great use of the soundtrack in this episode, really brought out the most from the moment. ^^ AiCon said: This episode had a big plot hole but over all I enjoyed it. I wouldn't call it a big plot hole, but I would say it stands out quite a bit. Considering this is a fantasy series I can easily give them some leeway for this kind of thing, but it a bit problematic if you're the type to get bothered by it. The only way I would ever consider something a big plot hole is if it was a missed detail involved with the story and not a small, unexplainable event like this. Edit: After reading the later posts, it has come to my attention that this hole will be explained later on. Damn you manga readers, stop trying to mislead me. >.< |

Well, it's very safe to assume that the place he ended up at, after getting kicked by Morgiana, has that rod. I wouldn't call this a plot hole. About how did Alibaba and Aladdin got seperated, it's because when they exit the dungeon, all of them got sent to different places. Morgiana end up on outskirt of the city, Alibaba end up on the place the dungeon is (most likely because he is recognised as the dungeon capturer, so he alone end up there). The rod could be one of those magic tools, which happened to be discovered by Aladdin. As a Magi, he has the proficiency to sense Rukh (life force) around him, and that's why he's able to use the rod as his temporary weapon. Possibility B: or it could be that the rod is just a normal dungeon treasure, but could also be used for fighting and Magoi channeling. About the separation, I believe that it was explained in the end of the next arc, that it was all the Rukh's (or maybe Solomon's, in this case) will. It's not a coincidence, but rather a destiny with purpose. |

Oh man Alibaba is such a badass. Beating Jamil in a sword fight with a dagger. Dang, I'm really curious to find out about his past. Already my favourite Magi character. Jamil is such a douchebag. Too fixated on being 'king'. Forced Morgianna to kill Alibaba. Man I love how Aladdin is a like a peacemaker, calmly asking for his flute back. Instead he uses magic to trap Morgianna and Jamil loses everything. Ugo and Ammon communicating with each other was hilarious. xD Seems like Ammon is with Alibaba now, that's interesting. Goltas is one awesome dude. Freeing Morgianna and letting her go and stays in dungeon to atone for his sins. I like Judal's voice, can't wait to see more of him. So all three of them were separated after they got out of the dungeon, dang... Can't wait for more. :D |

Any rod will do. Who knows how many rod looking stuffs are in that room. It's just that the place he ended up at, has a rod. (read chapter 78)Magic is the transformation of 'Magoi' into other substances . Unlike normal people, Magician (magic user), including Aladdin (the Magi), can transform their 'Magoi' without any tools. In simple, Aladdin can use magic without any tools. The rod belong to Baba that Aladdin received and is using now (I mean in later chapters) doesn't have any effect too. Basically, any normal rod/wand/staff is alright to use. The main reason of using a rod is to guide where to release their magic. Look at: http://mangafox.me/manga/magi/v14/c136/18.html You will get the idea how Magoi move from his body to the rod and released magic to tip of the rod. About why they got separated.. Wait, so you said " never explained in the manga either" meaning you read the manga but didn't know that...? or maybe you just forgotten that... It was explained in chapter 26 that Aladdin's Journey was guided by the great Rukh's will. The guidance of Rukh is what called 'Fate', that will naturally happen. Basically, Rukh wanted Aladdin to be Alibaba, that's why they met. Rukh wanted Aladdin to meet Baba and Hakuei, so he got transported there and got saved by Kouga clan. Al Sarmen and people who use black Rukh are people who hinder the flow and will of Rukh. How to say.. if you don't understand what this mean then I don't know how to explain any better than this? It's like asking why Amon uses fire, which is a fact. |

hokaru said: AiCon said: I could believe that the place he was kicked to had the rod. Question is: How did he know that the rod was it out of all the stuff it was mixed up in time to save Allibaba? Also, why were they separated? I could believe that it was the will of one of the genies, but apparently it was never explained in the manga either, so it's a plot hole. I'll just chalk it up to suspension of belief of the sake of the story and leave it at that. All that matters is that the show itself is good. Also, I guess it would've been easier to accept the fact that all of them ended up at different places considering that going in and going out of the dungeon is pretty random. In the manga, when Aladdin and Alibaba first enter the dungeon, Aladdin arrived much earlier than Alibaba did. There wasn't any explanation for this either...but I wouldn't say that it is a plot hole but just that the dungeon is pretty weird regarding entering and exiting. And yeah, I definitely agree with hokaru that this is something to accept as a fact...that the dungeon works this way, and that's that. |

In this episode 4.5 chapters has been adapted, the total of chapters adapted till now is 16 not 18. They'll slow down in Balbadd eventually. @AiCon wishbook said: Exactly, the dungeon has stuff scattered all around the place, vessels and rods namely but Aladdin's power is not from that rod, it's from the Rukh/little birds/life force and him being a Magi. They'll be explained in the next 2 episodes. About that rod or staff, it was beside him after Morgiana kicked him:But in short, the light birds are Aladdin's power, not the rod's. The rod is just a tool. About the dungeon, first of all we don't know much about dungeons, but notice that they went outside of the earth to enter the dungeon and the same thing happened to go out of it, but again, it's the Rukh's guidance, the big yellow bird made them separate. OT: So they spoke about Sinbad in this episode, and now off to Kouga. Was waiting to see Alibaba using his dagger, the battle was one-sided but was good, the foreshadowing was clear in this episode. Good to see Alibaba getting all the love, he'll probably get dozens more in Balbadd, his arc. |

I love spoilers and I'm not the type who's anime would be ruined or drop a show because of spoilers. Thanks everyone and spoil away. |

This is really fast paced but it doesn't feel rushed to me. The prince really sucks when it comes to sword fighting, owned by a little dagger on a big open space. I guess Alibaba is just kick-ass and that the prince just really sucks. I wonder how the three will find each other again. I can't wait for more. |
