| I wonder if the chapter lengths are going to longer in this part. According to manga reader chapter 1 was like 50 something pages, though that could just be because of it being the first chapter. It was pretty good, Jolyne seems more outgoing than her father and her string Stand (I guess that's what it was) seems pretty cool. |

| Really interesting start. I wasn't expecting a start with a conversation about masturbation and Tom Cruise. Jolyne is Jotaro's daughter and she is in prison. Wow, there was a piece of the arrow in that pendant. |

| It was funny to see the author debarately showing the star-shaped birthmark only after a few pages. So, this girl is as "sweetly innocent" as her forefathers and as the same time The absent father figure, of course... but he decided that for any possible trouble, her daughter might need supernatural abilities and so gave her a piece of the famous Arrow. Okay... weird answer to all your problems in life. And this, of course, gives her a string-like Stand. Joseph would have loved this to conduct some Hamon waves (by the way, Hermit Purple was the first thing to come to my mind when I saw the first manifestation). Obviously, future Green Dolphin prisonners in transit in the town's cells will get armed with the arrow's edge or pick it up and develop their own psychic weapon. I didn't remember that the JUMP could still feature such bloodly depictions in 1999. 4/5 This starts rather well , despite the bad advertising it received in France: "Prison Break meets Heroes!" Who would even read that? Only negative: while I approve the obvious raise in the author's drawing abilities, I am not fond of this tendency to make minor details like skin shadows/folds as boldly black as shapes outlines. This makes most drawings feel crowded. |

| Female JoJo! Jolyne Cujoh, Jotaro's daughter, is this Part's main character. As her father, she was introduced while being in a jail cell. ;D I already like her. She reminds me of young Joseph with her behaviour, full of funny gags. She is also friendly, she has already made a friend with Hermes. Her Stand looks interesting, but I guess we will see its full potential later. Jotaro, on the other hand, continued the tradition of Joestars being not perfect fathers, lol. But man, hiding a piece of Golden Arrow in that trinket was neat. He ordered to give it to Jolyne under condition of her being in trouble, and also hid the arrow in a way of making the biggest chance of hurting a person who opens it (like Jolyne who received the gift). This Part started in a cool way. Can't wait to read more and see how Jolyne's situation is gonna look like later. |
| I have absolutely no idea on what Part 6 would be like aside from people I know saying that they didn't like this much compared to the others but I'll have to say that this had a very strong start with a good balance of great action and bizarre humor, and some very likable characters like Hermes and Jolyne. It's completely new territory for me so that's probably why I'm so excited though~ Despite leaving his family to research dolphins and starfish, it's pretty considerate of Jotaro to go ahead and leave his daughter a shard of a Stand Arrow in case things will get messy. She definitely used those powers well, alright! |
