Clannad - brilliant romance/drama/comedy. When he was talking about Nagisa on the train i cried like a baby ;)

Ouran High School Host Club - pure comedy mainly because of Tamaki (though other host club members are funny, too)
Code Geass R2: Shocking at the end
Clannad After Story: Really emotional
Kaichou wa Maid-sama! - Usui~~~

ef - a tale of memories - Gets a 7 from me. The "train station" story was amazing, other romances in it aren't even nearly at the same level. Balance sucks.

Clannad: After Story - Gets a 7 from me. Happy-happy endings aren't needed.

Spice and Wolf II - Also a 7 from me. First season was easily better. Not enough Holo nor dialog. Story hardly moved at all.

@Karhu:

FLCL: I don't normally like very loud shows, I find crude huour annoying for the most part and I prefer comedies which rely more on dialogue than on ridiculous situations. Unfortunately, FLCL pretty much fits all the wrong bills for me, so I didn't really like it much personally.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei: Very nicely done comedy with some very witty humour. On the other hand, what I didn't like about it was the huge cast. Not that I found any of them bad. I just felt there were too many chaarcters in too few episodes

Serial Experiments Lain: My first anime! I'm rather partial towards SEL. No memorable characters besides Lain, but one of the most engrossing stories I've seen so far, with one of the (in my opinion) most ineteresting main characters I've seen. Simply loved it!

Shima_XIX:

Mushishi was a show that, initially, I didn't like very much. However, once I made it past the opening few episodes, I started to find myself moved by the stories that blended realism with the supernatural. I need to re-watch it as my memories have now faded, but the episode that's always stuck in my mind is the one where a daughter became the mother in an endless cycle of reincarnation. Brilliant stuff.

Monster I watched many years ago, with lengthy breaks resulting from the 1-2 month subbing speed. Its story is absorbing, and at times I felt my cheeks tingle, but it's so long that it's hard to stick with when it isn't the most action-paced of stories and switches between characters frequently. Very good but I can't see myself re-watching it anytime soon...

Cowboy Bebop is in my top 15, alongside Musishi. My rating jumped from 8ish to 9ish when the end two episode arc revealed all about Spike's past as he went out with a bang, but I did like many of the episodic stories that came before; such as the one where a brother entered into a life of crime in order to help his blind little sister. Another on my 'need to re-watch' list.

I went through the Berserk manga fairly recently. The anime is in my top ten for a reason: it covers the best (by far) of the manga and ends in a way that's hard to ever forget. The characterisation is top notch throughout and it's great to watch when tired of seeing school girls animated.

You have three of my 9/10's and one 8/10 as a top four. That said, your taste and selection is approved of by me.

Not a lot to say about your manga choices. Ibitsu is one of very few manga/anime to work as horror; it actually being semi-scary, at times. Deadman Wonderland is one of those titles that starts in an obvious attempt to shock people but has little under the hood to sustain it, going on what I've read.

@AironicallyHuman: Of those I know so far...

Gankutsuou: Possibly the most memorable adaption of one of my favorite novels. It captured the mood of the original almost flawlessly. The only complaint I had from it was at the very end. Otherwise, an excellent choice.

Death Note: Brilliant thriller, but a little lacking in the latter half. It couldn't be driven by a lone character, even if that lone character is Yagami Light. When the only worthy competition was out of the way, it went a little downhill. Also, I felt his comeplete breakdown happening so suddenly at the very end was a bit out of character.

Berserk: One of the most brilliantly told stories I've seen so far. Aamizng in almost every regard, whether it's the characters, the plot or even the pacing. Everything felt just right.

Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom: Very nicely doen, with an engrossing story and some very good characters. A few gaping plot holes and an unnecessary post credit clip after the final episode left too sour an aftertaste for me to call it a masterpiece.

Gungrave: The entire flashback was an epic, practically along the lines of Berserk. It was still good after the flashback, just not as good. It felt too different from the first half; Almost like an entirely different anime. The ending, though right, still felt unnecessarily tragic.

Code Geass: I liked it. The concept was very good, but the execution felt a little lacking. It was very good, but it had the potentail to be awesome. Also, I don't have much of an apetite for melodrama.

LoGH-- Yeah, I got to watch this some time...

Cromartie High School-- Only saw a few episodes of this, the shows sense of humor is weird but pretty damn funny.

Welcome to the NHK-- Oh, I love this show, a supurb dark comedy about screwed up people. It is hilarious and insightful, I can relate to the characters to a degree (I'm not THAT screwed up).

NGE-- One of the most influential anime ever, and thus has an overblown reputation. Don't get me wrong, I do respect and enjoy the show, but I just think there are many anime that did what NGE did better; albeit after NGE.

Gunbuster-- Anno's debut work, and it was a good one. I really liked how Noriko developed... some of the drama felt a bit forced at times, but a surprisingly good 6 episode OVA.

My inner fan boy wanted to flame you for your comments about NGE but...I really can't argue with your choices...

Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei- I had a lot of fun with this. This wasn't memorable because of the characters, but because of the very interesting narrative style. The protagonists rapid fire dialogues were amazingly done and, really, this series focus on his attempts for a "rose colored campus life" were truthful in many ways. You'll have to forgive me, though, this series isn't fresh in my mind. It's been a while.

Boogiepop Phantom- A personal favorite of mine as well, this was trippy in every sense of the word. It also did a fascinating job of conveying the darkness of the human psyche. That one episode where the girl "sees" her childhood friend was particularly amazing. Still have to read the mangas and books at some point, though. Also, this series is due a re-watch at some point.

Cowboy Bebop- I remember staying up late at night to watch this and Trigun when I was a kid. Spike Spiegal is a badass and this series has some great story telling. Of course, this series is well known for it's central storyline and "bang" but some of the other episodes such as the Insane fat guy (can't remember his name or the episode title, forgive me) and the ones covering Fei's past were great as well. Another one that is due a re-watch.

Revolutionary Girl Utena- I love it, I love pretty much everything about this work. It's dark fairy tale world, it's marveously complicated characters, the fantastic music, the artwork, and it has one of the best endings in anime. I realize that this series has it's faults such as repeating animations or just repetition in general but all those things I mentioned more than make for them. For the record, I DO NOT count the Nanami episodes as a "flaw", in fact I think they were some of the best "fillerish" episodes I've ever seen and were surprisingly relevant both in the series and in life. For the record, this series is tied with NGE as my favorite anime.

Uzumaki- More freaky than anything, I...just can't agree with you on this one. The premise was interesting, but this just got dumb at times imo. I don't know, I may have been reading it in the wrong frame of mind and I'm willing to bet that I didn't "get" it. I will say, though, that the hospital chapters were really well done and disturbing. I also liked the "humans will do ANYTHING to survive" theme but, as a whole, this work wasn't all that great to me.

Bleach - Can't say I'm a fan of it from what I've seen. I've gotta give it credit for some lovely character designs and a fantastic soundtrack though, even if the plot and characterisation doesn't interest me.

Kuroshitsuji - ...I'm really not sure what I think of this. Some parts of it were rather enjoyable, others were either boring or bordering on annoying. Fantastic OP and ED though.

Gintama - Only seen around 25~ or so episodes, but they were pretty good. I don't see it as a masterpiece like some people do at the moment but it's certainly entertaining. That one episode where Gintoki was searching for a fan ranks amongst the funniest episodes I've seen in a comedy anime, so that's a good sign.

Durarara!! - Durarara!! impressed me. After the first episode, I wasn't sure if I'd like it. But it ended up a lot better than I was expecting. It still has a few flaws and does lose track of where it's supposed to be going a couple of times it seems and I regard it as weaker the author's other work Baccano!, but it's certainly worth a watch. Also, that one yandere girl in it was amazing.

Can only comment on these:

Fairy Tail -
Great shounen^^ , watched it since episode 1 and aside from some boring arcs it's doing pretty well in my opinion ( Manga is still better ).

Seitokai Yakuindomo -
Many people seem to like it, but it was never my cup of tea :/

Clannad: After Story -
One of the best anime I have seen, I loved all the funny scenes and enjoyed all the great characters ( I know.. it was also very sad )

Steins;Gate - 7/10. Entertainment value is really high, definitely a fun to watch, really memorable characters but story is just weak, too simple, predicable and the ending doesn't make it better at all. Unneeded happy-happy isn't nice, and again the predictability.

Angel Beats! - 9/10. Been loving this show ever since I saw it. Loving the idea, story and characters. Enjoyment on the top, nice emotional stuff with good balance between action and comedy. Waste of potential but still great show.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica - 6/10 to the manga ! Haven't seen the anime. Something to consider as average shit. Not overly bad or anything but still just fine. Directed by Shinbou Akiyuki who is one of my favorite directors.

Mirai Nikki - 9/10 direct quote from my tags; Shonen filled with really many genres. Perfect balance, great story, quite amazing characters. Nothing is missing.

Onani Master Kurosawa - 9/10 definitely something to consider as a masterpiece, just not enough to get full 10 from me. Manga that turns out to be everything else than expected. Amazing story, great parody side on it and really gotta respect the author from publishing his work by himself.

All others are on my PTR/PTW list.

FLCL - Very interesting show. Some hate it, some love it, but I just find it an enjoyable watch with a fantastic soundtrack and lovely animation.

Katanagatari - Only seen the first episode so far, but it was rather impressive. Lovely setting, overall feel and animation quality with plenty of potential. Really need to get around to watching more of it as it's pretty high up on my to continue list.

Serial Experiments Lain - Another extremely interesting show. Very unique premise and overall thematic elements, a solid main character and a whole load of psychological thinky stuff which keeps the show intriguing throughout. Very impressive throughout. Lovely OP and ED too.

Yojou-han Shinwa Taikei - Fantastic show and quite possibly Masaaki Yuasa's best work. Lovely art style, interesting loop premise and a great set of characters. Equally dramatic, hilarious and plain entertaining throughout with an amazing final couple of episodes. Quite possibly my favourite ED of 2010 too.

P.S. Why would you read the manga for Madoka but not watch the anime? It loses so much in that format. For a show that relies heavily on specialised animation, an extremely impressive soundtrack, decent pacing and Shinbou's directorial tweaks and input, reading the manga instead just doesn't make sense. The manga felt horribly rushed, the tone was different in many of the key scenes and everything felt rather hollow.

@Rodness: Of those I know so far...

Monster: A very absorbing story told in a near perfect manner. Except for a slight problem in the pace of aome of the latter arcs, I couldn't think of one thing that could have needed improvement in it. Amazing choice.

Death Note: Another impressive thriller. Only, in this case, I felt the problem with the pacing in the second half was too much to ignore. At being a thriller, however, I'll admit it was very successful.

Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch: While I will admit I liked it more than the second season, I found it a little too simplified at times. Too many plot inconsistancies for an anime that wants to be intellectual. Still, I'll admit it was an entertaining watch.

Cowboy Bebop- Loved the style and the characters. It's one of the few episodic series where I liked pretty much every episode.

Monster- I think the story and characters in this were very well-developed, but the pacing really killed it for me. It seemed to slow down to a crawl at times, and I think it would've been a much better series to read than watch. Even so, it was a good show, and I can see why people like it so much.

Death Note- I haven't seen the anime, but I have read the manga and liked it pretty well. It started off strong but kind of lost speed around the Yotsuba arc and didn't really get good again until the very end. I'm not sure if the anime fixed the pacing in those parts, though, so maybe they were less annoying there.

Onani Master Kurosawa- A really great coming of age story about a guy who faps too much. Weirdest premise ever but it works.

Baccano!: The story may not have been exceptional, but the manner in which was told most definitely was. Very memorable cast of characers, great pacing and very well suited music. Loved it.

Fullmetal Alchemist: I liked it, but didn't find it exceptional. The music was great, but the characters felt a little too annoying at times.

Gankutsuou: If not for one odd plot point at the finale, I'd have considered it a masterpiece. Very nicely told, with some amazing characters and music to match.

Tatami Galaxy - Good, good. Easily the best show in a while. We'll see if Mawaru Penguindrum can reach that level, but I honestly doubt it can pull off such a satisfying ending. That was just something else.
Kaiji - Another good show. Great characters, awesome art, much better soundtrack than I expected and, of course, interesting plot with incredible levels of tension. My only issue is the ending with the damn box. I get what the author wanted to say about Kaiji with it, but it was just too silly an idea.
NHK - Quite possibly the most depressing story I know, even though it works great as a comedy. Pretty incredible.

Tatami Galaxy-- My favorite anime series, a brilliant uplifting story with a narrative like nothing else out there. On top of that an amazing visual direction.

Kaiji-- I have yet to watch this, but I hear great things.

Welcome to the NHK-- A great dark comedy, Saito and company are one of the most messed up group of individuals to be animated, but all are relatable oddly enough.

Mawaru Penguindrum-- Very interesting series, and I definitely will be following this series closely. Still, it's unlikely to replace the amazing Revolutionary Girl Utena as one of my favorites.

Baccano!-- One of the most entertaining series ever, Tarantino-esque brilliance.

Mushishi-- Possibly the most visually beautiful anime I have seen; with a very unique view of the relationship between man and nature.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica: A tad bit overrated. The first 9 episodes frustrated the hell out of me because the answer was just so obvious: USE YOUR UNLIMITED MAGICAL WISH TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS. This has been going on for thousands of years and no one has thought of this? Still, the ending actually did that and filled in a lot of plot holes, which improved my view of the show overall.

Baccano!: My favorite anime. Pure, unleaded fun.

Cowboy Bebop: A true classic. It's amazing how much it still holds up today compared to most of the anime from 10 years ago.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's: Ah, the Nanoha franchise. Well reviewed magical girl that I've heard a lot about. Should I look into it more? Added to my list.

Angel Beats!: Now here's a series that had a ton of potential that was killed by being only half as long as it needed to be. It's got great laughs and heartwarming moments, but it winds up not being what it truly could have.

Bob_Squob:

Baccano! - Loved this series so much. Great storytelling, characters and music. Memorable for me.

Shoushitsu - I was at best, mildly a fan of the Suzumiya Haruhi series. This movie made me LOVE this series. KyoAni put their best effort here and it was amazing to see Kyon and Nagato get more screentime and character development.

Natsume Yuujinchou: This is a very well reviewed franchise that's already on my to watch list. I should get to it soon.

Steins;Gate: Likewise, very well reviewed recent show. I'll wait on this one for a bit, but on my list.

Baccano!: As I've said, favorite anime ever.

Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch: Really, this whole series is a big meh for me. It's got good production value, but nothing really stood out.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu: I love the Haruhi probably more than it's actually worth, that's why I'm so happy to see this movie be so well reviewed. It was wonderful, truly a perfect adaptation and I can't wait to buy the DVD.

Baccano! - Great anime, enjoyed every minute of it.

Ouran High School Host Club - The characters made the show for me. Despite being a parody of shoujo, it ends up also being a really good shoujo itself.

Mahou Sensei Negima! - Recently caught up on the manga. And now I know the pain of waiting for Negima releases.

Pokemon Special - This manga surprised me a lot the first time I read it. It's almost scary how good it is. I stopped somewhere around the beginning of the Diamond/Pearl part since I got caught up in anime, but I plan on picking it up again sometime.

Aria-So far, I like Natural better, I think Animation focused a bit too much on Akari for my taste and I've only seen 4 eps of Natural, but I do prefer it. The best Junichi Sato anime to me will always be Princess Tutu though.

Niea_7-I thought this was only so-so. It wasn't bad, just average to me.

Kaiba-I loved the first half of this and the art style and music, but the ending seemed rushed to me. I wish it were twice as long with a less rushed ending and more planet hopping eps.

Lain-I couldn't stand this one. I watched it back when it aired on TechTV and again when I found a DVD set for cheap, so the 'you gotta watch it twice!' arguement won't work on me, I just plain disliked it.

Liar Game-hehe, classic chess game!

Bokurano-good stuff, I've seen the anime and read 4 out of 11 vols so far

Solanin-So not my thing, I dislike college stories like Solanin's

Pokemon Adventures-Lol, I love the games, so I rented the manga from the library, and as much as I was enjoying myself I was complaining every other page asking "uh, why is Koga a Rocket? Battles don't work that way!" but it is charming anyway!

Tengen toppa- It's pretty hyped up and epic, but I didn't like it as much as majority. It's really good for a shounen.

LOGH- this show looks really interesting. I haven't watched it yet, but I'm definitely going to try watching it soon.

Fate/Zero - seen 3 episodes, looks like it has potential, but it's only fine 6/10 so far.
Gintama - seen 7 episodes, pretty bad show.

Fate/Zero - read the first novel, fine-good.
Elfen Lied - not much, mediocre-fine.
Groove Adventure Rave - have read about 100 chapters, fine so far.
I definitely have superpowers. I can feel it in my balls.

Favorite Anime:
Katanagatari: I just recently finished this and gave it a 10 almost begrudgingly. It really is perfect, but it forced me to reconsider how I rated everything else.
Serial Experiments Lain: I liked Boogiepop, so I should probably get to this.
Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei: This is quite possibly the most perfect thing I've ever seen. I'd like it to get dubbed so I can justify watching it again, and so I can but the DVD.
FLCL: Meanwhile, I didn't find this perfect at all. It's strange, but I guess the message is just weaker and it's not as solid.
Soul Eater: It's really not that great. It's not bad, but I think there's much better shonen out there.

Favorite Manga
Byousoku 5 Centimeter: I hated the anime, but maybe the manga is better?
Hoshi no Samidare: Interesting. Added to my PTW.
Great Teacher Onizuka: That's it, I'm reading this next.
Onani Master Kurosawa: So wonderful. A shame it's so difficult to recommend to people who are turned away by it's premise.
The Breaker: On my PTW list.

Also, I have 10 favorite anime, 10 favorite manga and 5 favorite movies. Comment on whatever you know.

Anime:

The Haruhi movie: Ahhh yes, the movie. Before this movie came out I questioned why anyone could ever... EVER put yuki in their list... but now I begrudginly accept that shes a decent character (but the rest of the haruhi series didn't make much out of her). ANyways, great movie, the only anime I've purposefully rewatched (aside from the odd miyazaki film I catch on T.V or something). Mostly because the first time I watched it, it was in crappy illegal video camera vision XD.

Baccano: One of my favorites as well; a great little story set in 1930s gangster america. The plot itself was decent, slightly above average but what made the show was a wonderful cast of brilliantly colourful characters, enough so that theres someone for everyone to relate to: psychotic killer, another psychotic killer but hes kind of good at the same time, silent psychotic killing girl, other silent girl whos probably a masochist, another girl who likes to blow things up but isn't quite so silent about it... wow there were some fucked up people weren't there... Oh well it created Issac and Miria, so it deserves any praise it gets.

Kino's Wonderful Journey (or w.e its name is): Still on hold... still plan on finishing it someday, maybe. It seemed good, I just can never get myself into the mood to experience another silent semi-peaceful adventure these days... To hooked on comedy I think... Oh well, I'll finish you one day

Manga:

Mahou Sensei Negima: Ahh yes... negima, Akamatsu's next manga in his continual progression towards pedophilia. Don't Believe me? Lets see, first it started with college kids in A.I Love you, then it went to almost college just out of high school kids in Love Hina, the Negima came out with a 10 year old boy surrounded by high school girls, and finally ended with Mao chan... a story about 5 year olds defending the earth in skimpy clothes... So ya...

Anyways, Negima made me realize something... Just how much I freaking hate Akamatsu stereotypes. I hate the pathetic lead, I HAAATTTEEE the lead female he always creates... especially the one in this book... I hate the shrine priestess stereotype... he even made her a lesbian in this one and I still hated her... I hate the stereotypical "cool guy" and the only 2 character stereotypes I liked from love hina (Kitsune, the seductive one, and Mitsume, the ditzy one) are very underplayed in Negima. The new characters he added... were nothing special. Overall I couldn't get over my hate for a lot of the characters so I gave up on the series. The plot by itself was alright... nothing terrible but not that memorable.

Hayate no Gotoku: Haven't actually read it, but I hear the second season of the show is pretty faithful to the manga. If thats the case then I can safely say the manga is a crusty turd sitting atop a pile of mud. But of course, thats based purely on perception and I have no solid evidence to call it shit, so I'll say if its anything like the first season of the anime, then its average at best.

School Rumble: From what I remember, it was a pretty funny series for a school slice of life. I should finish it someday.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu: I found this show OK. Disappearance was the only great part of the show IMO.

Baka to Test to Shokanjuu: Funny is one of the only reason I watch this. But besides that, there is not much about this show.
