The money-begging was kinda annoying at times. Especially during 96 exit race.

Favorite run was RE2make. Really fun to watch even tho the speedrun itself was quite bad. Saying that as someone who has been watching RE2make runs for 100 hours if not more.

Now need to check youtube vods of runs that i missed and I guess after that need to take a look into all the drama that happened in the background.

So far everything is good. Dropped one run because the runner was an ass. No clear high points yet, but overall positive surprise.

Friends are a good way to compare new and old events. In the past, the community was tighter and there was more bro and friendly banter to be seen. Ever watched ESA? Old events were like ESA but actually fun to watch unlike ESA. If there is a run that is fun in the same way that it used to be in the "old days", the runner will be banned. Like Bonesaw did.

Pretty much. If it's not equity it's not justice, and if it's not justice it's injustice.

Hey that's great. I hope you have fun and enjoy the event. It can really move you away from the "real world" for a week if you just get into it and I think that can be awesome. It's its very own thing.

Large portion of people who are visible there are LGBT supporters and many runners are trans people. Since they have lots of visibility and there is some background agenda, it can lead to powerful counter reactions. Like last event, an announcer who accidentally said "he" but then changed it to "she" was kicked out of the event for not using trans person's preferred pronouns. There was also a case where dude was banned for bringing a MAGA hat there. It's just very unjust and I don't want side-tracking shit like that moving the focus from the actual event to their personal bullshit. But that has been happening in the recent years more and more. Games, speedrunning, fun and fund rising has changed to over-sensitivity, drama and pg 13 rated content. Humor is banned and it's just not nearly as chill as it used to. But you're right, it's not just this event that has gone mad due to political correctness and sensitivity.
Karhu Jun 20, 2019 2:31 AM
Audience, staff, couch or running in front of 100k?

I just hope there isn't any political drama. The events were better until 2016 or so.

Man named Tooooo neeee gaa waaaa Yu Gi Oh!

Gotta love the narrator. The show appeared from nowhere and no one cared about it, unfortunately, so it's no surprise you didn't hear about it either.

Yeah, man. Super hyped for Chiahyafurdururu season 3. Gonna be like Kaiji except more manly and less moe. ;)

I would let Nodame harass me sexually. gyabo~

Sangatsu no Lion S2 was such an improvement that it became easily one of the best anime from recent years. Even rewatched S1 afterwards and liked it more.

Cromartie never stops being badass and bro.. at least when watched Eng dubbed.

Heard good, bad and mixed opinions on Gundam Origins. Will watch when last OVA is out and decide myself.

Sure Honey and Clover writing can feel that way. The self-blaming was too much, same with the random accident in S2. Loli's crush was so comedic that I sometimes didn't even know if the series tried to be over the top drama or random comedy. It wasn't very rewarding watch at all, especially considering that the best girl didn't find happiness - only managed to be less sad. What are you thought on her other series - Sangatsu no lion? I think episodes 1-11 were the best ones. It's like Yotsuba animated. Couldn't care less about the mc tho. 3 grills are the epitome of happiness and that's why I am still hyped for S2.

Sakamichi no Apollon and Nodame both are josei. Not that target demographics ever mattered or meant much. Sakamichi manga was exceptional, the anime did decent job even with that horrid pacing. Nodame is hard one to dislike because Nodame and gyaabo.

Cross Game is hard hitting and I am not talking about the baseball. :^) Just recently watched Touch from the same guy. Episodes 36-65 or so were garbage, but in the end the build up had even bigger payout than Cross Game. Still inferior to it, but damn that 80's anime looked glorious on bluray.

I am sure there will be a time when all I so is rewatch older series, but it won't happen in years I expect.

That's a fair point. I can't say much positive things about Gundam characters. Macross did feel more human and real. The only decent Gundam's I have yet seen were 08th, War in the pocket, and Unicorn, but none of them had as memorable characters. Still I enjoyed all of those better than anything related to Macross even tho nowadays I watch anything mainly for the characters.

Nana isn't really my favorite because nothing is. Thinking highly about series that I loved and saw in the past feels rather biased and nostalgic to me. Even if I were to rewatch all the series I think are the best ones I have seen, I'd probably find most of them boring now. Most series are really a one time experience. Instead of thinking back I want to watch as much new stuff I can. This because there is definitely series as good as I have already seen still left unwatched. My current favorites are just some of the best ones I saw in the past few months.

I do think very highly of Nana. You might remember - I don't expect you to - but I dropped Nana back in 2011 or 2012 after 3 or 6 or something episodes. The Japanese dubs was garbage and I still hate it with passion. Finally got myself the English dubbed one and decided to give it a go and boy was it a ride. I liked every character from the huge cast. Nana reddo was obviously a rather weak persona, but the English dubs made her quite comedic. For example there was a part where Yunko said "Do not fall for the first guy you see." But 2 seconds later you could see it was TOO LATE. Definitely entertainment value right there.

The drama fucked me up pretty bad. Had to watch mediocre but comfy animu -such as Honey and Clover- for few weeks to get over Nana. The anime ended at chapter 42 and the remaining 42/84 chapters were the hardest shit yet. Everything went down, and the series ended/went to life long hiatus at the worst possible part. All in all it was some of the most depressing and real life shit I have seen where all good things came to an end. Ofc none of that will work unless you love the characters.

Seem to own Only Yesterday on bluray. Might as well watch it the next time I need anything Ghibli. Other recs noted. Would prefer them on bluray but I guess Koi Kaze will do.

Simoun was just an excuse for shitty shoujo ai. It was the worst kind. Tongue twitching french kissing. Not the cute lesbian comfy nor hardcore porn, but the midway which is just disgusting.

Macross is a formula I can't get into. Average fella becomes a pilot like in every mecha ever and gets a harem. I did enjoy some aspects of the idol romance, but otherwise it was the same thing I have seen in every series made by Sunrise except this time it wasn't from Sunrise.

Happy Year! May it be less shitty than the last one.

Didn't expect to see a comment from Adam. I'd ask how you been doing but I find answering that question a real effin pain myself, so instead imma ask if there is any animu series I should be watching? inb4 ichigo matchiwhatver
Karhu Jul 5, 2015 4:09 PM
If only I had been here 50 minutes earlier and then you wouldn't have had a comment-free year. If only.
Karhu Jul 6, 2014 3:17 PM
Strike the Blood's mc is the man everyone wants to be. Even P4 swag is weak against.

I wish I didn't hate that CGI so much. Still not sure if I should watch that Sidonia. I tried the manga, but it wasn't BLAME so it sucked.

>tom cruise in 3d
This sounds pretty hilarious, lol.

Edge of Tomorrow has Raid in the recommendations of IMDb. I just few days ago watched Raid 2 and I know just from it that this won't be worth of a watch. :^)

Cool! I make sure not to watch Area 88 if that keeps me in another class with rori.

>koi kaze
Uh, I have seen enough series with Kaze in the title. The Wind Rises was so dull.

Summer season is here. Are we ready? Imma watch SAO s2e1 now to make sure if I can really waifu Kirito now, too.

This late reply is brought to you by university exams, the football World Cup and Wimbledon.

I have yet to see SAC, but I have a general idea about how it differs from the original movie, and I hope the new LoGH anime tries to do something in the same vein. I’m cool with anything except a rushed adaptation of all the novels in like 26 episodes or something. The Berserk movies come to mind as an example of such a poor adaptation. And yeah, they really need to cut down on the narration, especially when it comes to spoiling future events.

I don’t remember a whole lot about Gurenn Lagann, so I can’t really comment on Rossiu being re-written. However, if what you say is true, then it probably must have happened after the time skip, which makes the change in the character a little more plausible than in Kill la Kill’s case. Anyhow, we can continue this discussion after you finish KlK and I re-watch TTGL.

As far as Natsume is concerned; I prefer the winter seasons (Zoku and Shi) to the summer ones. They have this melancholic atmosphere to them that I personally like a lot. Although San has a few really great episodes as well, also prepare to see a lot more two-part stories in the following seasons. Taki is a miracle of the universe, no question about it.

Anything from the upcoming summer season caught your eye?
