---finding anther Penguindrum fan around these neck of the woods haha. Hey there, I'm glad to see there's another fan of Ikuhara's magnum opus. :3 I think it's aesthetically and esoterically one of the pinnacles of the medium, next to End of Eva, of course... which... has still bent my mind in twain, to this day. o-o Honestly, I still believe that End of Evangelion's second half abandons its narrative in exchange for a constant stream of conscioussness which is ALL good, but the disconnect was so strong with me that, while shocking surely, I was never able to resonate with it in a way others have in this regard.
I guess my question is, the one I've been trying to string together: Do you think End of Eva is so great because of it's confusing nature, or because of the confusing-nature's relation with the narrative.. if that makes sense? Basically, do you think of the other half of End of Eva as an entirely different film, or so strong because it relates to the themes of the work?
Sorry if that seems to contradict itself haha.
Also, Aria is: <3 <3 <3
I have a bit of a fascination with the franchise myself, but that's for another conversation haha.

yea, that’s what i’m afraid of. i watched k-on in a few weeks, then postponed watching the movie for years just because i didn’t want it to end lmao. i’m sure it’ll be a similar case with aria. but i’ll let you know my thoughts along the way! satou’s works are stacked, i’ve wanted to watch kaleido star and princess tutu for the longest time now, so i might just binge all his stuff asap. but yea, you definitely should.

i can relate to that feeling of being distracted by vidya, animal crossing has absolutely taken my life over for months now to a concerning degree. i need to do literally anything else with my time haha. and damn you’ve been here for 9 years? major respect for the og’s lmao

yea, i’m trying to take it slowly but honestly at this point i just might binge it. i’ve seen clips from the later seasons and it looks absolutely gorgeous. i’m looking forward to it! yamada is a literal kino machine but you HAVE to see koe no katachi asap. like right now right now. lmao

Don’t listen to the comment below mine. If anything, western films and tv shows and every sort of TV entertainment not from Asia are the truthfully dying mediums from countries dying financially in their national debts.
Veronin Feb 8, 3:05 PM
cuz it's a dying medium from a dying country :(
