Knew it. They've only covered, what, 15+ chapters so far out of 110+ chapters available. Being a manga reader, I have no idea where they'll end the first season. But this is certainly good news.

Good news, but not surprising given the chapters covered in the first season and success of the manga.

I can't decide if the pacing of the anime series bothers me or not, but ultimately it's still enjoyable to watch each week given how much I like the manga.

Why even bother? They'll be at chapter 25 with 50 episodes of anime at their current pace. I also wonder how much more QUALITY it will get..this is one of the worst looking JC Staff shows I've seen in a while and it even tops Index S2 when it comes to questionable animation and art.

Great news. I was hoping they will announce a new season. But wait, if they're making a new season in the next autumn, when does Shana makes her revival?

This was EASILY expected...

Hell after the first 11 episodes, they've only covered 13 chapters...

Honestly it's HORRIBLY slow paced.

I guess they are planning to make a 100+ episode anime out of it. if thats what is their plan, then its a NO NO! If the anime doesn't pick up some pace in next few episodes, I will probably stop after this season and switch to manga.

guess I have to postpone reading the manga after the end of season 1.. I really don't want to feel the sluggishness of the anime like most people who already read the manga is feeling.. >.<

still, an early reassuring news.. :)

Great news... I'm enjoying this season so I don't think there is a problem with the production.. I don't read the manga so there is no problem for me about the pacing... And I don't think the anime would be better if the story gets faster... well that is only my opinion...

Great news, hopefully it has the same pacing as the first season. I too thought it would be faster, but I believe the current pace works best for the series. The current pace definitely brings out the emotion of the manga, and gives the series a better atmosphere. If it was any faster there would be way too many scene changes and time skips in a single episode. I'm sure Kasai Kenichi knows exactly what he's doing, and the decision about the pace is to make the anime better- not to drag it out longer.

To those comparing the number of manga chapters to episodes, it's not as bad as it seems as Bakuman has a lot more content per chapter than the majority of shounen manga. One could easily say that one Bakuman chapter covers the same amount of detail as 2-3 Bleach chapters...

this is a show about dude trying to become manga-ka.... did you guys think it was gonna be super fast paced with action or something??? its good for what it is and is doing everything it said it would... if you want go go watch faggy bleach and stop crying... you guys act like there aren't other series to watch. i havent read the manga but im looking forward to a season 2 already... not to mention you guys are upset but the series is only 11 deep lol thats not far at all.

Summer? Hopefully. :'(

Bakuman may be slow paced, but I think it works. Drawing manga is hard and time consuming work after all, and that they have managed to capture in the show.

I'm surprised so much people hate the pace of the show. While I agree that it's not a fast-paced series, I think it works perfectly fine like this, and there was no episode for me that I found boring.

That's great to hear. I'm actually a little disappointed in the manga because I notice more and more increasingly messy drawings in the latest chapters... ~_~

Impressive. It amazes me how quick some anime get another season and how slow some of the other ones get another one. Bakuman wasn't a very pleasant one for me. I dropped it after the 1st episode. I don't know why but it just draw me into liking it like Sekirei and Spice and Wolf did. Spice and Wolf was kind of slow as well in the 1st few episodes but it somehow kept me tuned in until the plot really picked up
