First three episodes have an advance release on Hulu / Max. Each subsequent episode is to be streamed 23 days in advance of the TV broadcast on Hulu / Max.

Out of prison at last!

The one thing that I loved about all the Suicide Squad media we've had is the dynamic between Harley and Deadshot, so I'm really glad they kept that aspect here. Speaking of Harley, glad they giving my beloved so much dynamic animation for her movements. Only the best animation for my beloved ofc. Only took three episodes but we finally have some magic in it to really give this that full isekai feel. And at last the gang finally all has their iconic fits and are out on the battlefield. Stellar animation, as per usual again. WIT's knocked it out the park like everyone expected.

Clayface is looking to be the main person that'll be able to get the through this isekai world, seeing as he's the most geeky. Do like that they're using Clayface as a main person. Not only haven't we seen Clayface in any Suicide Squad movies yet, but even in the comics he's not given too much of a spotlight. So it's a nice change of pace. Didn't expect for Rat to be in this show, and for him to be a male of all things. Also Deadshot wanting to cut off his pubes... what a caring friend he is lmaooo. Who knows how he obtained not only a razor, but also porn comics... okay. And Katana is back, hell yeah. Whole gang's finally here at last. Though who knows what those two are up to.

Fun little premiere this was, excited for more and see what other wacky shit the squad get into.

Now the story really start, the kingdom against the empire, the knight & the princess, and the “good” isekai’ed against the “bad” isekai’ed.

The magic system is still in introductory phase, but Clayface already grasped its basic.

Lol, Deadshot and Ratcatcher backstory.

I love it. The animation is really good both Dub and Sub is on point. And the decision to release 3 episodes really helped with the flow of the story. This is truly the wildest genre combo and somehow they did it so well.

Okay that's the last episode for now. This was interesting to say at least. I don't know if 10 episodes was the right call for this as this will pretty much finish up within July due to how short it is. Also the dub for these episodes exist but is only in certain countries or some odd reasons. I hope I can watch the rest of this in English moving forward. The Japanese cast was okay though.

So here are my thoughts after three episodes.

If you are familiar with how Suicide Squad stories work, ignoring the shitty game, this is pretty much longer form standard of storytelling for something that is usually just films. this was given a lot of flare and changes by wit Studio from making Clayface legit a Muzan cosplayer to making Katana look like she is in Naruto. We even get a jack Peacemaker that is pretty much based off John Cena's take on the character minus having him play the character.

I overall enjoyed this but I hope we learn mroe about this world. It's nice to have a Isekai where it isn't random but characters willingly going to another world. I really like the art and animation but going to see how they handle these next seven episodes as they don't have a lot of time to play with. Lastly, I don't know if I'm fan of this Harley yet as it is just TAS and Arkham Harley who is just joker simp and kind of a bitch to everyone not named the Joker. I would have done something based off her Injustice character or post when she is more of her own character. I can't wait for more.
I haven't updated in years but now I have changed that. I'll be free soon.

Decent 3 episodes. Animation is on point although there were some minor low points but big fights are done well.
Clayface already best character also Harley is as good as ever in every aspect
My man Rick Flag is there too hope the others just don't ditch him.
Deadshot and Rats backstory wtf was that..

The world and conflict are not quite developed. That princess seemed only good character from this world.

The prison break puts the Suicide Squad into a spin facing the Hero Cecil, and Rick has to be the mediator between both parties...though his never-ending insulting speech to Cecil is rather hilarious, since he has no choice but to bring the group to see Princess Fione and her Queen mother, to convince the Empire to set them free. And while that convincing may not be the easiest of terms, Rick chose to sacrifice himself so that the Suicide Squad can get things going immediately, proving their worth for a stake on his head.

It's expected that the Hero Cecil doesn't want the Suicide Squad interrupting the battle for his ego, so they're left to fend on their own to choose the targets for themselves...facing Deadshot's old pal of Ratcatcher for a start, which he literally tortured him into his bidding, like cutting his hair and asking him to read porn comics. Of course, this infuriates Ratcatcher that Deadshot literally didn't give him a modicum of his thought, and to make matters worse, Katana's also in the fray, angering Harley in the process.

The Suicide Squad in another world, how does Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara attempt to circumvent a story like this, given the 3-episode premiere? I'm equally as worried and excited for what's about to come.

The animation feels like it was done by a mid-studio while trying out some experimental ideas.
Was below Wit's level. Unacceptable.

Though, they made a really good OP and ED.

3 eps out already and this is fun!!! it's really better than what I thought, prolly due to the staff and Nagatsuki on this, he def putting a twist on this. the animation, choreography and storyboards look solid, hope they can keep it up. need more puddin chan!!! harley looks so hot too omg and the seiyuu is great for her too.

That does it for the first batch of 3/10 eps. It was...exactly as I expected it to be. All the characters fit their mold to a T, almost to a fault. It was Suicide Squad with an isekai genre twist...exactly what it says on the tin. There was nothing new, nothing innovative, nothing really all that enjoyable. The eye-candy animation, A-list voice acting, and great music, were all top-tier...but the story that holds everything together like the bottom layer of a house of cards is as flat as a pancake, as Harley likes to put it. All this talent and skill is wasted on a series like this. It doesn't get any more mid than this snooze fest.

Kind of chaotic, kind of messy, kind of nonsensical (how the neck bomb works for Clayface?) and kind of rushed isekai version of the Suicide Squad.
Mostly inspired by the live action movies, than the comics (but I digress since there are a lot different interpretations in the comics). Still fun with its psychedelic visuals and fast pacing, but nothing to blow your mind. They have putted more effort into the character animations of Harley and Clayface, so maybe they are the favourites of the storyboard artists and the animation director.
I really like the the japanese VA cast.

I absolutely hate the live action movie Suicide Squad so I thought I wouldn't enjoy this anime at all, but it's been surprisingly enjoyable for the most part. The animation is good, as expected of WIT Studio. However, it also seems like the type of show where it's all dumb fun and entertaining at first, but the storyline itself is very stale and gets tiring real quick. I enjoyed the first two episodes but am already starting to get bored with this third episode. The story draws you in with the unique premise of having a gang of criminals as the main characters, and the fighting and the characters cracking stupid jokes makes for some good popcorn entertainment, but there's nothing much else to say. Not expecting there to be any interesting antagonists. This all reminds me of Akudama Drive - in that show, I remember the fights were good but I disliked everything else with how stupidly exaggerated and chaotic everything was. Probably will be the same case here, but of course I hope I'm proven wrong.

Not with medieval technologies.
They may concoct a magic substitute, but that would require them finding one really skillful mage, also months if not years of research, than organizing sort of an assembly line (since our guys waste a lot of ammo in battle). That's without calculating the costs.

Have you checked the second movie from 2021 (the James Gunn one)? It is called The Suicide Squad and it's way better. Also there's a TV sequel to it called Peacemaker (2022). Those two projects are closer to the current anime.

Yea the twitter nerds who were complaining about this not being good have clearly never seen any of the suicide squad comics, movies, animated films etc. These first 3 episodes felt just like I’d hoped. Captured all the magic and silliness of this team while adding that anime flair and aesthetic which ofc I love.

So far the Sakuga and comedy are awesome and I’m loving how good Harley looks and acts in this 😂 she always carries these suicide squad projects and that probably ain’t gonna change. Clayface has been the second best part of the show so far though. His chemistry with deadshot really coming thru well.

Story is a little generic with the fantasy world rn but man who cares, the show is fun and the staff are obviously having a lot of fun with the animation. I’m here for it. Also, just having DC characters in an anime isekai setting is enough of a deviation on the usual trope to make this worth watching. I also think they’ll have some cool twists up their sleeves!

Like dude, imagine the possibilities this opens up if it’s successful. A static shock anime, blue beetle, superman etc. Japan’s storytelling with the western IPs can be special.

And S/O my boy ratcatcher for being relevant in this just like the 2021 movie lmao.

Rick trying to communicate was hilarious. Rick can't get a chill no matter which verse. Bringing in criminals with him only to lose control and flop. June Moone you seeing this girl?

Cool action again with the squad finally being able to let loose. They recaptured the fort technically, even if they thrashed it. Deadshot really thought that was gonna make Rat his buddy lol. Katana's back and Harley Quinn ain't happy to see her.

Enjoying this so far. Loving Harley Quinn and Nagase Anna voicing her. Key point so far is that their power is boosted in this world. Harley Quinn got boosted strength. Also just realised that the big thing from the ED is the 3D map of this world.

Btw forgot to mention but it's ironic that Ueda Reina's voicing the princess. She's been voicing all of this type of characters lately.

I am not going to hype it up, because I already did the same mistake with Ninja Kamui, but so far it's pretty solid. Harley and Clayface being the ones who actually get to shine (Harley being a snarky eye-candy and Clayface actually doing all the job). Hope Peacemaker, Deadshot and King Shark also will show something cool.

It's actually incredible how anime once again does what comics, movies and games can't. Absolutely hated two movies and don't even want to talk about the game- here it's perfect "turn off your brain" dumb fun and without Gunn's idiotic sense of humor.

These are pretty much my comments after watching the early premiere of these three episodes:

  • The animation was visually striking and eye-catching, pretty on brand for Wit Studio
  • Coupling that with the OST just did it so well for me
  • Tomoyasu Hotei didn't have to go this hard on the OP. I'll probably be listening to that on repeat if we get a full version
  • ED wasn't my absolute cup of tea, but choosing Mori for it was well called for
  • VAs for both the Japanese and English versions fit nicely
  • Not expecting this to be too interesting of a story line, but the characters make up for that

And even though I don't have much knowledge of the DC universe to go off of, this early premiere shows promise since it'll be an interesting ride once we kick off the Summer season, not to mention that it's set as an isekai. I'll be intrigued to see what these next seven episodes have in store.

And in the last one, Rick Flage steals the show too much, cursing the royal guard, the guy is also stupid, he's going to trust Orcs hahaha and the fight against the Rat was incredible and Harley Quinn wanting to kill Katana is a lot of fun, the suicide squad really suits this world great July season premiere

Well, i rarely watch Isekais (I tried with Konosuba and maybe i should try it another time as i stopped with the tank gal, then there's the "Wrong way of using magic")

Since this is DC's SS i gave it a go and sometimes the animation felt a tiny bit bland (HQ and Katana) and the plot seems curious at last

One thing that kinda shifted me is how the english dub is totally uncensored in voices , even some changes compared with the subs (Yep!) while the Japanese version gets all the censorings' "beeeeep!"s

Will watch because there's nothing much else in my tastes to watch but it's fine so far

Harley and the squad have to take down some factions and Rat Catcher makes his glorious appearance as well as Katana. There are some other rogues here other than Harley, Deadshot, Shark, Clayface, and Peacemaker and I'm interested in seeing whats up with them.
