Well, it really fk'd me up that you added a very old start date to Futari wa Precure

xD This is the one and only anime i managed to catch every ep. of as it was airing on TV so i put the italian airing dates as start/end

anime plus thinks you watch like 1 episode a day. In reality though, you should have higher average than me

Precure threw it off 🤣

I'd say my avarage is 3-5 eps a day, sometimes i'm busy or not in the mood and i just watch 1 (or on rare occasions none 🙀) and sometimes i'm in binge mode, i think my record is 20-something eps

Thanks that was very interesting :3

Fell free to chat about anime whenever you like :)

In the first and last episode it can be seen that they made a lot of effort to deliver the best quality.
Yes, it feels worse, but more like because of the weaker story in this season

Oh no i can definitely see the effort, and it's still top tier, i just think the previous seasons animation felt smoother

If you ask this as how can we tell about a user, then it is obviously much harder and you can only guess. I expect a minimal number of anime and a minimal amount of time spent watching anime. This is needed because everything usually feels fun when it's new. And above those numbers it's time spent on watching anime divided by the time since you registered or something like this.
For calculating average, you can use anime plus: https://anime.plus/
As for minimum numbers, hard to say, but maybe 50 days and 200 anime. I mean if you watch everything from Code Geass and SnK, you will already have like 30 completed titles.

If you ask this as we have every information about someone, then it is a much easier question, because we just need to understand how he prioritizes his hobbies when he has free time. Let's say there are 2 hours when you can do whatever you want, you don't need to do chores, you are not tired so don't need to sleep etc. If people in these situations tend to choose anime in many cases, then I would say they like it. (I said many cases, because people can have multiple hobbies and then can rotate between those.)

I mentioned those movie podcasters. On some holidays one of them tries to organize a day when he can watch 2 movies in cinema. A casual viewer would go to cinema once a day and even that event would be relatively rare, because for a casual viewer it is a social event, while that podcaster regularly goes to cinema alone. I think this is a great example to show the difference between the 2 types.

Curious curious, would you be able to analize what type of viewer i am based on my list and reviews and other stuff available on profile?

If you need any aditional information ask away :3

The other part of acting is (voice)acting. I just consider the Japanese VA'ing better on average. This is simply based on experience. They better range, play with their voice more etc.

Definitely agree with this, i've very rarely found a japanese VA performance to be underwealming, compare to live action performances, english VAs, and even italian VAs who've had a great reputation being one of the top countries for dubbing, in recent years i've heard more mid to shitty ones come out

A great example is Cyberpunk Edgerunners. I needed to break down the last category, because while in characters it is a strong show, but the story is a simple, straightforward and - sadly - predictable story. Personally because of this aspect, I don't think it should have won Anime of the Year award last year

Anime of the year?? How???

Anyways, yes the story is definitely on the simple side, but i think simple and effective, not something deserving of a perfect score, but it was almost gonna be a 9 for me, what dropped the score was the super rushed ending that made it feel anticlimactic

And I found this mistake in CSM by accident: https://imgur.com/a/TwnzTsw

Denji's twin lol

Animation-wise, my 2 top choices right now would be KnY Katanakaji no Sato-hen and Trigun Stampede

Interesting, i actually thought Demon Slayer's animation quality dropped a little in it's last season 😅

I won't comment on Trigun Stampede's CGI since i've only watched the trailer

But if you are looking for the worst animation scene, then I'd say KamiKatsu's farming scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4M6_j16eoU
(That scene was definitely a joke, though.)

That is truely hilarious

I disagree. Liking something could mean several different things depending on who said it. Like you go to swim every friday night and you say you like swimming, that's a different level of liking compared to when a professional says it who swims 20 hours a week. And there's also the ones who just don't dislike swimming, but still say they like it.
I think casual viewers don't like anime, they like certain shows that happen to be an anime. And I think that's a big difference

Ok true, but how do you distinguish who's a casual viewer and who loves anime?

Calculate you can like something the same but have different ways of enjoying it, say comparing a professional swimmer to someone who's grown up on a beach swimming in the sea every day of their life, they both love swimming and it's a big part of their life, but maybe the person who grew up on the beach doesn't like swimming in a pool as much as the sea and vice versa

The arguments you bring up are getting more and more interesting, is it ok if we move the conversation here in comments? (since we're going quite off topic)

ktg said:
How can you tell which show you like? To be able to tell that, you first need to watch it. So you need to choose it as the next show that you would watch. How do you choose? Obviously factors like scores, reputation etc. (it is possible that someone recommended you, but with these high number of shows that we watch, it is less and less likely). Having higher score or "better" reputation sound like these shows are being "more important" than others

True, the only way to be 100% sure if you'll like something or not is to try and watch it

And as much as i personally don't care about scores when chosing what anime to pick up, i do understand they do have influence

ktg said:
Unlike you, I have rules that sometimes make watching anime not that fun, because I like anime, so I really want to know it well. For that, I don't drop shows. It might takes years to finish it (:D), but I won't drop it.
And I regularly watch bad shows on purpose. To be able to rate shows as fairly (or objectively, but others don't like this word), I want to know what the bottom is in terms of anime making

So what is your rating system? What's the analysis process each anime goes thru? And what are some examples of top and bottom tier anime?

Just one last thing, please don't take offence, but phrases like this "because I like anime" make you sound quite conceted
Everyone here likes anime, we wouldn't be passionately creating chaos in the forums if not

You obviously really love anime and also have great interest in the more technical aspects of it, it's admirable :)

God damn you just wrote a whole essay. Look at how much research you have done into your characters lmao. You are literally overdosing on copium rn its sad. You can try and justify it any way you want but at the end of the day, you definitely have some anime waifu bed sheets. Pathetic

Yikes, so defensive. Now this is textbook projection of insecurities. Like look at your fav characters dude. Disgusting predator.
