I wait until they're fully aired.

Unless I really like one to the point of having to follow it weekly, usually I end up watching a couple per season at most, for this reason.

At least 5 new franchise shows. Minimum 10 per season. No maximum, but these days I'm trying to narrow closer to 10, but sequels must be a watch

This is actually the first season in many years that I'm watching so many seasonal anime, and it's only three. I will usually watch any anime that catches my eye, but when they're finished airing. I've never really had a consistent anime watching schedule.

I usually watch anywhere from 3-4 because I only really get hyped to watch a few seasonal's dont really care for the rest as most of the time they dont interest me. For example for Spring 2023 im only really excited to watch Demon Slayer, Dr. Stone, and Hell's Paradise. I have watched a few trailers of the other seasonals but they dont really interest me

While the season is airing? At least 8 at minimum due to the fact that I do the seasonal anime challenge on A-P which 8 is the top 'accomplishment' so that's what I do. I'm watching 14 this season though. And there are a few others that I plan to watch after the season ends that I just didn't want to watch while they were airing.

Depends. Usually anywhere around 1 to 6. Sometimes I dont watch them at all and wait for the season to end and then binge watch shows.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

usually around 10 to 20, it has gotten to 20+ at one time, but it starts to get lower as each season goes on, going down to below 10 nowadays.

Before a new season starts I pick around 10-12 to watch. Sometimes I pick up a new one a few weeks into a new season that I didn't originally plan to watch, and I usually drop a couple as well.

Depends on the season. I usually try the first episode of around 10-20 shows that pique my interest during good seasons, continue about 5-10 of them beyond the first episode, and end up finishing 0-1 by the end of the season because I'm terrible with keeping up with weekly tasks so I usually only finish the one I'm most invested in on time 😅 Though I do finish the other ones that made it past episode 1 by binge-watching the rest later.

That approach is part of why my dropped list is larger than average, because I'm always willing to give a lot of new seasonal shows a chance, but I don't see why I should be required to finish something I didn't enjoy enough :)

During bad seasons, I might not try even a single anime; I know my taste and if the entire line-up is just stuff I don't care for, I'm fine just spending the season finishing up stuff from the previous one more leisurely~

My preferences are I like to watch a new episode of something at least everyday to keep myself entertained with something. But it does heavily depend on the season since not all seasons are equally hype. That being said, I think the overall sweet spot is at least 5 shows with room for more if I'm bored

Around 10-15, with 20 seasonals being the maximum I can do at a time. It really depends on the season, for example next season is chock full of sequels and lots of other shows that caught my eye, so there's 20 shows I'm interested in. But summer looks like it will have less shows and be closer to the low end.

Same here, but if there are more shows that piques me interest like the previous season has been for me; it'll be more like about or around 25-30.

For a couple years I tried to watch as many as I could to have variety, so there were times I'd watch around 15 or so. Nowadays it's much less than that, maybe 5 or 6.

I don't have a 'usually' since I'm only a couple of years deep into this anime addiction. I started watching seasonally in Summer of 2021, every anime I ever watched before then was binged at my leisure after it finished.

Summer 2021 - 3 (one was a two cour I fell off of during the fall, lol)
Fall 2021 - 10, 2 of which I fell off, and subsequently dropped
Winter 2022 - 8, 2 I didn't finish and put on hold indefinitely
Spring 2022 - 19, dropped 3 partway through, 1 put on hold partway through
Summer 2022 - 8, 1 is Uncle from Another World and lol, and another is on hold but probabyl should be moved to Dropped
Fall 2022 - 13, 2 put on hold about 2/3rds of the way through, one dropped
Winter 2023 - okay there's a few I started watching but I think I need to put them on hold/restart, so setting those aside, and one that I binged 90% of and am just watching the last couple of episodes as they air, 18. but I'm behind on a few of those and can't seem to motivate myself to catch up.

so 3, 10, 8, 19, 8, 13, 18 gives no real clear 'usual' number.
One consistent pattern is at least 2-3 fall-offs, either drops or put indefinitely on hold.
I think my seasonal watching depends on what's being offered, what appeals to my interests. seasons heavily dominated by sequels to shows I haven't seen offer slim pickings.

also I think it's pretty obvious Winter and Summer of 2022 just didn't have a broad array of good shows, and I probably could have just watched Lycoris Recoil and Call of the Night and missed nothing important. This season I really over-committed, especially to aggressively mid fantasy shows. pulling back on those for next season and focusing on other genres.
As it is, for Spring 2023 I'm aiming for 15. When the shows air could have an affect, though. I fell off Trigun Stampede and Fire Hunter because they were both on Saturday, and I prioritized other shows and got fatigued after watching five shows and seeing I had two more to go.

Seasonal anime is characterized by its fast-paced nature, with new episodes being released on a weekly basis. This constant flow of content can create a sense of addiction and dependency among viewers, leading them to prioritize their anime-watching habits over other important activities such as work or social interactions. This can result in a decline in productivity and social isolation, which in turn can have negative effects on one's mental health.

The obsessive nature of anime fandom can create a toxic and hostile environment for viewers who express dissenting opinions or criticisms of the content. This can result in cyberbullying, harassment, and even death threats, further exacerbating the negative effects of seasonal anime on mental health.

Based on my research, I can confidently assert that seasonal anime is toxic and poses serious risks to the mental and emotional health of its viewers. The addiction and toxic fandom associated with seasonal anime all contribute to a culture that is detrimental to human well-being. It is imperative that we recognize the harmful effects of seasonal anime and work to promote healthier forms of entertainment.

Usually 5 to 15. On average I would say 10 anime per season. My goal is to reduce that amount, given how much I hate having to concentrate on multiple shows at once.

However, there are cases like those of the current season, where simply four works that I was following in the October season were 2 Cour. So, I ended up with a larger number of animes than I wanted to see, and that also put me off watching the first episode of some or trying to binge, for example, Bungou Stray Dogs to follow the fourth season.

I only watch them after all the episodes are released. In cases where they have already announced sequels, I wait for them and then watch everything together.
Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! is one of those cases. I was waiting for the full release of the first season, but in the meantime, they announced the second season.
My memory s*cks, that's why.

There was a time that I watched like around 5 seasonals but now I rarely watch even a single show mostly because I've already read the manga version if something seems interesting,  next season got some bangers like ancient magus's bride and mashle so I might try those.

Tried watching over 30 titles this past winter season, but I couldn't handle watching so much mediocrity daily. Dropped it down to around 10, which is how many I usually watch per season. Just the good stuff.
I've been watching around 20 for the last few seasons, but towards the latter half there's only 5-10 shows I even look forward to seeing.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

I start with 8-10 on average. Sometimes, 1 of them will be bad and gets dropped (but rarely). For a couple of seasons, I've started a show after a few episodes were out and the reviews were good. Examples are Bocchi the Rock (I am picky about anything to do with music), Mashiro no Oto (again music), Ousama Ranking (thought it was a kids anime) and Akiba Maid Wars (thought this was idol/moe culture anime).

I think the highest I've been is maybe 17ish...

I watch two new anime per year:
- The masterpiece that everyone can and should expect from Japanese big brain thinkers!
- The gem that the critics enjoy and like wholehartly and faithfully.

Anime is a waste of time.

Before anyone asks why I'm here on this website it is because I liked the website's design and I like all anime medias except for animey and ecchi.
