For me, it's always Metro Exodus.
It definitely that tries to look as good as possible while also having more open environments, so it was always a demanding game for your system if you wanted to play on max settings.
When I upgraded my monitor to a 1440p 144hz one, yeah, this shit lagged on medium in some areas.
I'm talking below 30fps.
What especially sucks is that on max settings, it looks fucking beautiful; almost photo-realistic.
Time to get the latest Nvidia Graphics card I guess.
I'll put that on my New Years resolution list.

How about you guys?

I have not played a game in many years, but I think that up to this day, nothing can beat Crysis, provided that you take a fixed ratio between the game's requirements and the available technology at a given time (hopefully this sentence makes sense).

For Honor, I can not even think about installing it due to how shite my machine is. The curses of Lenovo Thinkpad gaming (most intensive game I can play is Sims 4 LOL)

The Worst hmmmm TaleWorlds has fucked up Mount and Blade Bannerlord and as much as it works well in Singleplayer with Ultra Graphics on, whenever I go into a Multiplayer I need to make double reset of my PC, it lags, fps drops, sometimes all of my programs stop working, it is literally a virus not a video game, and ya'll thought that Cyberpunk 2077 was bugged, try playing Native Bannerlord Multiplayer [Oh forgot they added ranked system which made officiall servers for Skirmish and Captain mode unsearchable kekw lmao so only TDM, Duel and Siege are available]. Unlike BDO some people might be unfamiliar with Bannerlord so gonna post below one video from an event/compilation where I had graphics at max activated [I don't have RTX so I can't make the "Real" max]

Outside this hmmmm I think Black Desert Online as there are plenty of characters and players at the same time, in majority it works well but whenever I am entering the city, when it starts loading every single npc, every single player and other stuff I am bein hit by fps drop to 0-1 and I need to wait untill all of it comes back, just to finish few quests and go somewhere else... BDO is known so no need to show here anything.

And that's all I don't recall any other game which wouldn't work properly on my PC.

I have a low end gaming laptop from 2018, so the worst running game I own is Euro Truck Simulator 2/American Truck Simulator. At medium level graphics settings I get around 45 FPS with some lag spikes. On the higher settings it’s less than 30 FPS and lags every time a new vehicle pops on screen. Keep in mind these two games have graphics that wouldn’t be out of place on a PS3.

I miss having a proper desktop with good specs, but sadly I can’t afford one.

It was some of the Command & Conquer games from one of their collections that just would not run, Like Yuri's Revenge and some other add-ons. Their base games would run fine though weirdly. Yuri's Revenge was my favourite though.

I had two newish laptops at the time, and it was like that on both iirc

DCS: World, well it works perfect on my machine but I need a tracking device, so i'm using my Oculus Rift. The thing is that everything is to blurry, I can't see any targets especially ground targets when firing rockets manual. When I make the resolution sharper, it starts to lag insane which gives me motion sickness.

If you don't know what DCS: World is, it's the most realistic combat simulator available. I hate it so much that it doesn't work good with VR. This was by the way also my dream job, figther jet pilot. But i'm color blind, not heavily but enough for not being a fighter jet pilot.

I wish it would run perfect with a VR headset, but it ain't.

idk i dont play many AAA games, plus i own a 3060 ti, plus i always turn the graphics settings to the absolute minimum as the first thing when I open a AAA game.

i can get like 100fps on the new call of duty at 1440p, but that's still the worst probably. lol. and its definitely CPU bound, i should probably get a new CPU with better single thread performance.

I can't think of any game but the glitchy Warzone 2.0 running at 145fps max and sometimes freezing, they rushed that game really bad, it needed more time.

I tried running the GOG version of Metal Gear Solid 1 but the opening cutscene ran at like 2fps, then it crashed. Then there's Sonic Adventure 2 which just doesn't run at all.

Outside of that is it Worth playing? It's on sell on right. The trilogy for 30 dollars.

idk i think the first one was very cool for its time with the suit abilities and open map design. but i think that sort of thing is more common now, so im not sure if it really would hold up.

second is more linear and worse, i played a lot of multiplayer on the second when it came out but im sure its dead lol and i havent played the third. it looks pretty though but ive alrrady played enough crysis even if its good

Only have one, Diablo II: Resurrection.

...but, I don't play it since I prefer the original version, I like it way more when the graphics are dirty, gritty, and unpolished, feels and looks much better than the polished clean artificial 3D graphics that have been for these past 10-20 years (it's like a cow licked all polygons, everything looks too smooth and absurdly over-detailed, just a bunch of noise and an eyesore to look at it).

i remember getting the first dark souls game on pc and whenever i was in any sort of combat my fps would be dipping into the 20s, was funny. can't remember if my computer at the time was dogshit or the game was just turbo unoptimised on launch

nowadays i put effort into researching whether the game is optimised or not before launch so haven't played something that runs poorly in quite a while

If I recall correctly (it has been 15 years!), the first game is very linear and not especially good. I have no idea about the other two.

Probably something like Apex Legends or Destiny 2 because both are borked on Linux.

Of what I have installed, however, that'd be Risk of Rain 2. The rest of the 'games' I have on my computer at the moment are all visual novels.

Linear game are fun to stream with an audience. I remember when the 3rd one came out my friend from the online wouldn't shut up about. 4th is coming out early 2023.

@rian9999 Of course it's dead. It's from. 2008/09. I hate the statement it's good for it's time.

Final Fantasy XIII-2. It has a notoriously poorly optimized PC port. I played the PS3 version for hundreds of hours around a decade ago and it ran fine on the console. With the PC version, moving around is doable, but cut scenes lag horribly and the frame rate in battles is so low it's unplayable: seems to be five or ten frames per second. I looked up tricks to try to fix it, but nothing worked. General consensus is that you need a high-end gaming PC for it to run right. Then again, I've read stories from people who spent thousands on their computers and still had major problems running the game.

The first Crysis is from 2007 and runs flawlessly on my computer. My graphics card is from 2017, though. :P

ok yeah to make my post not directly say the opposite lol the story and stuff is linear, and the game takes place in distinct levels, but also the level design is pretty nonlinear because its open levels with multiple paths the player can take. because they were showing off their terrain and vegetation system...

unreal tournament 99 still has servers,t hat game is actually good. crysis being good for it's time is like, i gotta give it credit as a tech demo. it got slaughtered by unreal engine though. idk, i used the level editor a bit and it was very nice and fun. i read the engine as a whole was badly documented or something

the best crysis game is kingdom come deliverance because crysis was just a tech demo for cryengine and kingdom come deliveranec is the best cryengien game

Cyberpunk when I use native rendering and ray-tracing with everything maxed out at 3440 x 1440. Otherwise, 70 frames with Quality DLSS, no RT, and screen space reflections quality set to high at the same resolution.

Fortunately, my current lack of financial responsibilities can allow me to buy an RTX 4080 when I can get a job at some point.

My computer has been a piece of shit for awhile now but if I think the game that runs the worst on my computer is Batman Arkham Knight mostly because I can't get past the title screen without crashing. My friends keep telling me to buy a new one but I haven't gotten around to it.

A lot of games do not run on the laptop I cam currently using, it was not design for gaming after all.

Some games run on it though, like Diablo II

generally there is almost always a way to fix the game so it does run on your PC if species are high enough. Just google the methods. Takes time and skill though.

I remember how my brother once got original StarCraft run by trying different CD-keys until it works. It worked on all zeros and 3

All the games I have run perfectly fine, due to my pretty good graphics card (AMD Ryzen 7 and Radeon Graphcs) but most likely due to the fact that I don't have any super demanding games. The most demanding ones I have are probably Garry's Mod and Genshin Impact. There is the occasional universal lag spike that lasts a few seconds, though, even on less demanding games like osu!, Etterna and Quaver. Weird side effect of having a laptop.

I feel like this should've been posted over on the Games, Computers and Tech Support board.

Any PlayStation 2 emulated game. They never run right, most commonly is slowdown making them borderline unplayable.

(I'm not much of a PC Gamer. Literally the only PC Game i've ever played is The Sims 2 and it's run perfectly on every pc i own.

jesus christ i upgraded my cpu since posting in this thread last and i was bottlenecked as HELL before, i get 150-200% framerate in most things.

but as far as bad fps, i soak unity editor and it gets 25 fps next time i go in play mode or something terrible. its not the project ive soaked that overnight on accident in play mode and its been fine, its something on the editor. could be a plugin. didnt use to do this. havent had bad framerate on any actual game ive played unless the thigns capped.

Halo Infinite because the game has been optimized like total dogshit.  I don't have any actual performance issues running it, however I get occasional crashes and my fans computer' fans run incredibly loudly when running it.  Meanwhile I can play far more graphically intensive games and have zero issue whatsoever no crashes no loud fan.

GuJian 3 probably.

I heard Chinese hardware differs from ours by atleast enough to make their games run inefficiently.  That and GuJian 3 is already a crazy good looking game already so it makes sense.  The game is sick though...  Except the needing an online connection to play a single player game.  Booooooooo!
