This Beast Knights group has some interesting members...hopefully Yuuhi can get along with some of them.

Yayoi is a character I'm curious about. Feels like this was a buildup episode for something much bigger. Anyways, there's quite a colorful cast of characters since the past few episodes together now.

I hope this anime doesn't expect me to mourn for the loss of a character that only appear for a couple of episodes like Shinonome. Yes there are other anime that take less time to build a character's trust but this anime should know its own ability. It can't do that, and that's why it should spend more time to build a connection between the audience and the character.

So Yuuhi has the ability to fight back now, but the animation remains far from graceful. So, it doesn't seem like we'll see anything too impressive. Though, that being said, Samidare punching the seven-eyed golem was probably one of the better looking punches in this anime. In general, I felt like the animation in this episode wasn't quite as bad as some of the previous ones.

Mikazuki "kidnapping" Yayoi was amusing, lol. That, and the unemployed gag got laughs out of me.

And, I'm not particularly surprised Yuuhi lost their sparring match. Just because he inherited a bunch of skills doesn't necessarily mean he can use them at the level Hangetsu did. The more he spars and trains with his skills the better. Not sure why he so stubbornly believes he can just fight masterfully now? If nothing else, between beating Yuuhi and his various escapades, I've started to appreciate Mikazuki more.

The appearance of Animus, who I presume is the primary antagonist, felt a bit underwhelming however.

As a final note: I can't believe there was a Swordfish Knight and they offscreened them. I'm a bit disappointed about that.

Animus has a larger part in this portion of the manga that was unfortunately cut for the sake of time (You'll probably be seeing that a lot in this anime.) To be honest, I'm still quite surprised anyone has made it this far into this god awful adaptation, though there were a few oddly well animated scenes this episode.

Meeting the other beast Knights as they gather for this first big battle. Yuuhi getting a power up from Hangetsu wish is amazing. A great way for the story to have him get stronger without going through the normal training bs that can take forever. Mikazuki still being a weirdo wanting to fight Yuuhi but now Yuuhi is up for the challenge after learning Hangetsu wish. Yuuhi also still willing to carry out the secret mission for Samidare. Following the princess to the ends of this crazy world. We finally meet the guy behind all the golems that our heroes have been fighting. Revealing himself so causally emerging from that golem mouth. Really creepy unsettling dude named Animus. Samidare will have to lead the Knights against such a man to fulfill her wish

The first half was more random things happening with no sense of cohesion. Oh, Yuuhi got a powerup. Oh, no wait he still gets beaten easily. Oh, the golem gets sent flying. Oh, no it actually becomes a gate for a random ass mage to start air walking away out of, etc...Well, I say random but he's in the op/ed so I knew he'd show up eventually. The introduction of the other knights wasn't quite as bad but it still felt rushed and again I'm not a source reader. Maybe now that that's done it'll start feeling better again next week. I hope anyway.

It does seem like every week someone is quoting me and telling me something was cut from particular parts of the anime. It is, what it is.

I don't like dropping things though, at least if I can help it. Besides, there have been some okay moments throughout. Like I said before the humor seems to be up my alley, and I intend to check out the manga. So it's not like I'm going into each episode completely miserable, like with some other shows I'm watching this season.

But, it is a shame the animation is like this. I'm really not sure how people working on this aren't embarrassed? Unless they got a crazy tight schedule and are just aiming for "good enough." But even then, wouldn't you want to show off what you can do rather than half-ass it? Yet, all I can think about is how it was in Shirobako, so it's hard to completely blame them. Maybe the working conditions just really, really suck.

Shinonome-san bringing in a W even after death but his brother on the other hand...

As usual, pacing was shit with those knights appearing out of nowhere.

Mikazuki is fucking unhinged. Seriously, this dude needs help. Damn battle junkie. Guess he got his wish later to fight Yuuhi.

Yuuhi with that Judo throw move though! Nice one! But this new golem is too much. It survived a kick from Sami! I do like how Yuuhi was able to finally mourn Hangetsu. Dude was actually a good guy.

The wizard Animus finally appears! Didn’t expect him to look so plain tbh. He’ll be a tough one to fight. Anyway, It’s nice to be meeting more knights. Shimaki’s familiar is pretty cute, Tsukishiro and Hoshikawa’s familiars too. Love how the remaining knights literally rode past Yuuhi on their bike lol. Convenient. But man, RIP to the swordfish knight. We never even got to see him in action. I wonder if Hakudou’s crushin on Yuuhi. Sami sure wasn’t expecting her at Yuuhi’s place!

But anyways, with everyone gathered, it looks like things are gonna finally be kicking off. I kind of wonder how their plan to destroy earth is gonna play out.

All the knights have been gathered, and there are some interesting animals to represent them too. Things look like they'll start kicking off next episode.

So far, overall it's been a lackluster adaptation, with poor animation and execution, and it's hard to stay engaged with the story, which in my opinion is the best part of the show. That said, I'd say this episode was the best one since the first episode.

The bgm in every single scene was distracting too much. At first, I thought oh the pacing got better, but no it went back to being bad again. It feels like this episode could have and probably should have been split up into 3 separate episodes.

There were some major, and seemingly important, cuts from the manga in this week's episode. This is a trend for this adaptation in general. I wonder if they're going for a meta thing at times since the manga has lines that allude to changes even in the same situations (paraphrased). But then I watch the adaptation and think, "No, they probably aren't clever enough to do that."

Coo's voice is about the most adorable thing I have ever heard in my life.

This was probably the best episode so far.

They've been cutting out almost all of the Magical Mary stuff. Will make a certain character sometime later much less impactful.

Mikazuki really is a battle junkie against Nagumo, while Amamiya has embraced his art of fighting to fight the golems, Hangetsu's marital arts passed onto him, being able to finally grieve for a comrade's loss.

Amamiya and Samidare's dream sure leaves no doubt about their relationship, though the Beast Knights are all in their different temperaments. But no less a duel between Mikazuki and Amamiya, and trying to imitate without powers for a stead didn't really work out all that well. But most certainly, they've now known their enemy: the mage Animus.

More Beast Knights come in the form of the Black Cat Knight Hyou Shimaki and cat Ryu, though they're just eating fodder now. High school girls of Turtle Knight Yukimachi Tsukushiro and Long Yue, plus Rooster Knight Subaru Hoshikawa and Ly Soleil appear as well, though losing one in the process: their master Swordfish Knight, and by coincidence, 3 more mythic Beast Knights (Mouse Knight Tarou Kusakabe with Lance Lumiere, Mantis Knight Hanako Sorano with Kir Sonne, and Owl Knight Akane Taiyou with Loki Helios) appear to finish the mould and gather everyone together.

The role of Lucifer and the Lizard Knight has just begun. And thus, concludes Volume 3 of the manga, and this is where the story starts kicking into high gear.

They probably cut some stuff again. Studio NAZ does cut quite a few scenes, but the introduction to other knights was rushed either because of:
-Studio NAZ cutting necessary scenes
-It was plain rushed for both the manga and anime

Guys, it's unbelievable, but I actually found something more horribly wrong than this adaptation.

As much as it pains me to say, I might just drop it. I went back to the manga recently to remember what bits and pieces were omitted from the anime and, naturally, I ended up rereading the entirety of it. Plenty manly tears were shed. But yeah, even horrendous animation quality notwithstanding, the adaptation seems to be tossing away more and more as it goes on and I can't experience the butchering of that incoming arc, you know, the #1 arc of all manga.

Is there some kinda Japanese fundraiser that we could start to fund an actual adaptation?

The pace in series 7 is still too fast. But in this series, as in the first ones, there are many small unexpected moments that make the script more ornate as a whole. Yes, the road to quality can lie through incomprehensible absurdity, especially in our century... There was a good speech at the end from Samidare. But still, doubts begin to close in - what if this plot, like Fate/Stay Night, is only built on the constant expectation of something more, and is in fact a boring routine full of empty slogans? After this episode 7, I decided to read the original manga.

Yuuhi sure is overconfident there for someone who only inherited Hangetsu's skills but not the bodystrength to carry the techniques out.

A lot of random things from the mage suddenly appearing to the whole beast knight crew gathering, although I don't have much hope for them seeing how many kids are there.
