Wrong wording. Basically I don't really watch anime that the main characters are all girl.
As for scores, I believe no anime deserves to be called "bad" or scored 4 and below at all. I mean, yeah the story established might be bad but animators and the related-company works hard in making them. So for me the least they can get is 5 at most. Any 5 in my list could be they are just very boring or the story is not something worthy to watch despite me enjoying them.
I don't think you look at my list closely enough. I do have a bit 5 here and there, but only a few. I try to enjoy anything that I watch but even I can also feel a boring anime haha. I think the most score in my list is between 7 and 8. That can mean the story is average good despite me enjoying it to the fullest, or I enjoy it on a normal level but how the anime is carried out force me to give a higher score, or could be both.
And yes I love baseball anime very much. I have never played the game and have zero interest at it before but Major and Diamond no Ace made me love baseball the sport itself now.
As I said, it's not that I disagree with you. Most of the points you listed have also been a problem for me with both series. I finished watching Yahari at the end of 2021 and D-Frag this week, so I remember season 1 very well and I see almost no differences, except that the author of Yahari could write much better characters. Whereas D-Frag uses the comedy elements better, at the expense of the characters.
Season 1 of Yahari was literarly D-Frag. It had the pointless Event War, Harem (even more than D-Frag) all all the generic Events from any visual Novel you can find. Even the pacing was similar, with the Protagonist being forced to join the club, being annoyed at first but getting with it. And Episode 8-9 was about the School Event (just like in D-Frag).
The only thing Yahari did better, was the Protagonist and this by a BIG Shoot.
I really liked Yahari, but each Season had flaws. Season 1 was to generic and almost like any other copy paste Show. Season 2 pacing died, but it had far better scenes and dialogues. Season 3 had nothing season 1 and 2 had and feels like empty air with romance at the end.
I think maybe you forgot about the similarities, time does a lot with us.
Is the concept new? hell no.
Were the jokes creative? No.
Was is fun? Yes, above Average for sure.
You scored many other shows with 9/10 or 8/10 which are similar or on the same level as D-Frag. So why this big difference?`Just because of the overused concept?
