Well I sure was hoping they'd announce something better like... I don't know, Ristorante Paradiso or hell, more seasons of Case Closed, but it's good for the fans of those shows, I guess :1

Yeah, Chobits is odd to be on there...

I have all of Spice and Wolf stored on my PC, so no worries, but not Higashi no Eden. Might have to book it...

....Chobits?

You mean they're going to re-dub it with new voices, even though it's already dubbed?

....lame. They did that with TTGL as well..there's no need for two different dubs. One is enough. It just brings confusion when people want to say which voice actors did what voices in what anime. Ugh..I hate when they do that.

Why are the releasing Chobits after it's been out for so long? New dub cast?

In any case, I'd like to see what they're gonna do with Higashi no Eden. If Laura Bailey is not Saki, I will be peeved. Unless, they're just releasing it with subs.

I'm guessing Pioneer/Geneon (since they're still facing financial problems as I assume) gave Funi the license to Chobits. We shouldn't worry about another dub cast. I mean they haven't changed Slayers' dub cast in its older seasons so it shouldn't be a problem. Personally I love Chobits. This is a good idea so that it doesn't get forgotten or overshadowed by today's current popular anime. It doesn't deserve that.

Hmm, kind of pointless that they licensed the recap of Higashi, I don't really see anyone buying that, but oh well, since it's part of the franchise. I'll buy the movies regardless of the R1 code, though.

Great news about EotE movies. It's beyond me why Funi is taking so long to finish dubbing the TV series, especially when compared to Dragon Ball Kai that they acquired just the other month and the first boxset is ready for sale in May.

Never cared for Spice and Wolf, the narrative never appealed to me and always found Horo overrated. Not surprised about Chobits after Funi's acquisition of X; it seems they are out to hunt every CLAMP title imaginable, won't be surprised if we heard news about Card Captor Sakura some time in the future.

And BTW, Funi, where's my Evangelion 02: You Can [NOT] Advance >_>

Hey they're getting the recap movie too! I'll be able to watch it non-raw then! Sweeeet.

Spicy wolves is always good and I'm surprised it took them this long to get it.

Where on earth does it say they are redubbing Chobits? And why would they spend more money to redub something that doesn't need a redub? Not talking about any potential quality of the acting, I'm just talking about a finished product.

Pointless to license a recap movie but it's probably apart of the Eden of the East package deal.

It's actually kind of clever, they could just put all three movies into theaters and leave out the TV series entirely or release "Eden of the East Trilogy". Either way, I'm sure they got it cheap or free, like you said.

But didn't they already acquire rights for the actual show?

It's nice to see Eden of the East, and S&W II on the future roster.

Higurashi Kai has brought in overload sales according to ANN podcasts, FuniCon 2.0, and sales records. Hopefully the excuse of "Wait and see" will end once the remastered boxset is release this may.

I heard the guy who was in charge of making the dub wanted that line to be "panties" and it was the original Japanese people who wanted that line to be "underpants"....(and yes, Chobits was previously owned by Geneon USA but they ended up going bankrupt).

Anywho, pointless trivia aside, I really hope Funi doesn't bother redubbing Chobits, as I think its fine as is. Sure its not one of the best dubs ever (refer to the infamous "underpants" line), but I find it better than many of the dubs Funi puts out these days. Same goes for X.

I'm rather annoyed Funi hasn't liceneced Cardcaptor Sakura yet. As it has a large following, even today, so it does have potential for profit. Then theres yet to be a proper non-edited dub for it that stays true to the original (not counting the dub by Animax), and then the DVDs only had a subbed version. So instead of possibly redubbing Chobits, they should be dubbing CCS. Not to mention I own all of Chobits (except vol 5) on DVD, so i'm not going to bother rebuying it. Meanwhile, I only own half of CCS, as Geneon when up and out before I had the chance to get the whole series on DVD. So i'm willing to buy/rebuy DVDs for CCS so I can get a dub and complete my collection, and i'm sure other CCS fans feel the same way.

The DVD's not even out in Japan yet. It's pretty much a given that Funi will pick it up as soon as they can, though.

I wonder how they'll end up dubbing Eden's first episode

Watch Beck. Thats how.
It will be a confusing mess but what ever.

as far as dubbing goes, Funi does a decent job.

I'm glad to see they are still getting into older shows.

Stoked on Eden.
Definite buy for sure.

But the Paradise Lost DVDs aren't out yet either, are they? Yet they still licensed it.

They will surely get 2.0 at some point, however.

Also, here is another source. This is the source that AnimeSuki used for updating their license database with these licenses.

They said they were going to be releasing Spice and Wolf II with English dubs sometime this year but they havent announced a concrete release date.

I prefer to watch it with dubs alot more then having to read subtitles while trying to concentrate on whats going on in the screen at the same time.

Hmm Spice and Wolf II? This is not a joke right because this has got to be one of the best pieces of news I have heard in a long time. Loved both seasons and FUNIMATION did a decent job with the dubs so not much of a turn off like some of the dubs that I have seen. Looks like there may be hope for our 3rd season if this sells well. Any hope is good enough to grab onto even if it is a small ray of hope I will take hold of it.

It's bothersome how Funimation have decided to sell S&WII only as a DVD/Blu-ray combo. Why would someone who's interested in buying the DVD want the Blu-ray release, as well?

I won't be buying S2 for awhile, anyhow. I'm too into the manga to want to refresh my memory and I disliked the last half too much to rush and order it, ASAP.
