| This episode was so cool, I can't wait for the next ones. I loved the OST (OP and ED are gold), the animation is great, the plot seems interesting. Character designs are very good! The fight scenes were great too. |
| Not a bad first episode. I'm interested in learning more about the original Vanita and why the current Vanitas wants to save Vampires. The musing was really good in this. |

| I just realized that it's been a while since I've seen an anime from Studio Bones lol Anyways, I thought that the premise of the show is pretty interesting, and found the start to be very solid. I'm excited to see how this anime turns out overall! |

| Honestly, this episode was an emotional thriller in its own, a story that can combat Twilight, rather conquer. I mean it in a somewhat good way! As the episode continued from the beginning, I felt as if I pulled up to the opera late, had to come in almost at the end of a large saga, where the love of the dramatics is revealed. I very much liked the animations presented, especially the moment with the vampire lady and her transmutation into a vile, bloody, and deprived state of a Vampire. To poison another vampire while in the presence of so many civilians, my mans was left speechless and defiled. Vanitas is here to collect his books, and now I guess the hero dude, Noe, here to go along with the shenanigans. I hope to keep this energy for the next coming episodes. |

| Idk, this episode was really mediocre. It felt not only it was style over substance, but also the type of style that I've grown to hate: The ""cool"" style. Anime has a lot of those and they never cease to turn me off. Maybe it gets better, but it does feel like it's going to be another overrated show. |

| Only problem I had was them SPOILING THE END, thanks for that. Still, looks great so far. Loved the OP, the ED, and Noé and Vanitas look like they'll be a fun pair to follow |

Interesting, but I'm sensing some yaoi tendencies between those two and it's not even the show itself but the opening and ending, are they trying to sell this show with that kind of pretense? Lol. But I'm here only because I saw the second season is very well loved so I thought I'll check out the first season. We'll see where this goes. |

| Interesting start where I honestly didn't expect Vanitas to be an actual 'quack' by being a human that inherited the name and book. So far the setting kinda reminds me of Black butler and the vampire stuff seems quite unique. |

| Amazing and beautifully cool! It really looks like the modern character design of D.Gray-Man and Pandora Hearts, just saying. What's more, the characters and also the supporting characters are quite entertaining. |
| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

| Woah. I had heard that this was a highly renowned show, and I had good hopes going into the first episode. It did not disappoint. The storyline seems very original, I looove the steampunk aesthetic so much ^^ The first episode subverted my expectations in many ways, and it did a great job misdirecting you only to go "sike! you thought~~" at you the next moment. For example, by showing the origin story of "Vanitas", we're brought into Noé's shoes by immediately assuming that he's an attacker. But no - the real Vanitas is a doctor, helps the vampires, and is a human on top of that! Their personalities are alright, I like Noé's character quite a bit. He's adorably clumsy and doesn't really get social cues. Vanita is a little too outlandish for me, but maybe he'll grow on me with time. It's funny that for a show whose two main characters are socially oblivious, it uses a lot of subtle details and "show not tell" type of stuff. The antagonists/monsters were creepy-looking, like, actually creepy, which is a rarity these days. Bonus points. I'm glad that Florifel was saved instead of having to be killed! She's such a cutie! The first question that comes to mind is, what happened to the original Vanitas? I'm really curious about the statement at the end too. They better not give us a fake-out temporary death and revival etc. I'm treating this as a tragedy, though I haven't looked at the tags. Maybe there's some kind of curse placed on whoever possesses the persona of Vanitas, that they have to die eventually? Thinking about it more, Vanitas is a role. What's his real name? There was quite a lot of emphasis being put on one's real name being the essence of their life... but I'm sure we'll find out later. Maybe in the context of Noé eventually killing him. Maybe he'll kill "Vanitas" but not the person behind it, and frees him from the role. Who knows. Who knows. I can already tell this show is going to be layered. I can already tell that Noé's teacher will be an important character, but I must admit I wasn't really paying attention during those particular 10 seconds lol Anyway, great episode! <3 |

| My expectations for this manga were initially low, but it turned out to have an amazing start. The production team did a great job recreating the artist's aesthetic style from the drawings. So.. what I'm trying to emphasize is that the first episode is a total banger and is unmistakably a solid start for the series. Tuning in for the next one! |
