Man, I remember when these gorilla chapters were being published in WSJ. Back then, Gintama got a 5-chapter countdown to its end, yet the main story was barely progressing. Instead, we were getting these UHO stuff for three chapters in a row. As funny as the chapters were, at the time I was probably more worried than anything, since every gorilla chapter meant less chapters to wrap up the story. In the end, Gintama simply switched magazines after the countdown, so it was all good. Seeing these chapters animated makes me feel a whole different way when I’m not constantly worrying about some countdown 😅

This is the second time Kondo’s been stuck in a gorilla marriage, but this time, there’s no one there to help him. Kondo getting an existential crisis from gorillas is amazing, lol. This is truly his peak moment in his character development. If only he was able to speak gorillaese, he wouldn’t struggle this much in getting his point across to the gorillas.

All the gorilla misunderstandings were funny af! And it was nice to see Sakamoto (and Mutsu) again! Sakamoto really looks glorious with the new art style. In the end, Kondo inadvertently helped with the battle, and now, he’s officially back with the Shinsengumi! Also, it’s really dumb (but funny) how Kondo gets his “haircut” so he looks like his old self again XD

Most of chapters 693-695, and half of 696 were adapted in this episode. I’m curious whether or not the movie will only cover 698-704, or will it also cover some of the stuff that was skipped by the Semi-Final episodes. Overall great episode! The gorilla shenanigans with Kondo is some of the funniest stuff that came out of Gintama in a while, especially with all the serous stuff going on.

UHO/5

A lot animators from the movie worked on this episode as Animation Directors so why it looks so polished.

Now the wait for the movie sub begins. Hope it doesn't take too long.
The one guy that hated this deserves to get a gorilla wife too.

Well, I have finished the Semi-Final and now the wait begins for the fansubbing of the Final. Most likely scenario is that we wait quite a few months for The Final's Blu-ray release and the eventual fansubbing of it. Perhaps it'll get an earlier digital release or it will end up streaming before the Blu-ray release?

Final note: Gotta love that the "UHO" was implemented into the Episode rating poll.

They cut out the whole interaction between Takasugi and Katsura and later on with Gintoki, they just showed a 2 second scene of them handling fodders offscreen (which was such a good fight scene in the manga). Alot of badass scenes were cut from Takasugi and Katsura planning to fake his death to avoid suspicion to Sougo claiming Katsura to be the most dangerous Jouishishi of all time. That was one of the top moments for Katsura, I hope that scene gets animated in the final movie, but there were way too many scenes that were left out for me to give it a 5 and the gorilla part was imo better done in the manga so I'm giving it a 3/5.

Ah men!
Last episode of gintama....
I feel so sad but the this "last" episode was so hilarious that it didn't feel like the final episode. (Until the very end where they said there won't be any next episode......)
It made me sad af..
hearing I WANNA BE and screaming alongside as loud as I could in my room felt sad....yet happy
Man.. This comment is getting depressing xD
.
Anyhow, love you Yorozuya, love you Shinsengumi, love everyone from Edo and Yoshiwara. And Love you Sorachi sensei for making a great story. I'm glad to experience this journey.

This episode felt like classic Gintama all over again, and really these specials as a whole did too despite being timeskipped compared to most of the other seasons. I loved this more than both the Silver Soul seasons and the Porori one so it's good to see Gintama at that great shit level again. Kondou and them gorillas were on a madness lol.

Only the movie left for me to see whenever it releases. Pain already for the wait, but the pain will multiply 100-fold once I get to finish that and be done with the Gintama anime for good.

Damn it..i want to watch the movie right now!! Unfortunately, there is literally no option but to wait, and the wait will be a very long one, until the blu ray comes out, as I'm 100 percent sure this movie has no chance in hell of releasing in my country.

This was such a classic Gintama episode, lots of fun!

Well, The Semi-Final is over and it feels sad knowing that these were the last Gintama episodes and the last onscreen captions for the show...

But...

There is still The Final movie, looking forward to the last adventure with Yorozuya and friends!

Great comedy as always, now if only I could remember wtf was going on in Gintama >.< been too long, guessing I could have got away with watching Movie 2 again first since that was the only stuff that dealt with the timeskip? can't recall if it happened during the seasons.

Maybe I'll have to give Movie 2 and these a re-watch when the "Final" movie hits.

UHO!!! Uhoo ho uhoo uuho uho uhoo hohouho uhoOooooooooooooo!!!!!

So this is it then, the actual last ep of Gintama... 15 years of airing, many close calls and false ending have gone past but here is the real ending for the classic comedic ep...
What better way to end the series with a nice comedic ep and I right?

Well then... The movie comes next, and that'll be the true ending.

I found this episode funnier than the other one.

Can't believe Kondo got stuck back into his marriage to the gorilla! But his language barrier trouble (Uho, Uho) led to some funny stuff, my favorite gag is when he accidentally came on to the male gorilla and he was shocked.

Of course, there was tragedy too - the poor gorilla bride actually got some trouble because of Kondo, but she came out the better for it at least.

So that's that resolved for Kondo and the Shinsengumi.

I'm really glad I watched these, they were hilarious and got me really excited for the movie. I have full trust in the gontama staff to end this well, this series could become my number 1 if it lives up to the hype.
Also, wasn't expecting wadachi until the movie, but I'm glad it was included. It's a banger.

Good episode, but the comedy is nowhere near to the quality of the earlier seasons.

Now, onto The Final T_T

Much better than the previous episode.

I'm still pretty lost regarding the story-driven segments though, even after going back and re-watching the end of the TV series. Hopefully the follow-up movie concludes things as least as well as the previous movie did.

So, that's what happened. It was all thanks to Kondo, and he even got his original hairdo back thanks to his son. lol

Oh man, that message in the end. It's been quite a journey indeed. It's sad, but nothing lasts forever.

LMAO Kondo with princess Bubbles and the other gorilla, she had a real family with another gorilla when Kondo left xD and the "Uho!" translated to something Kondo didn't say at all ahahah that was hilarious, nice that it ended well for each of them, now it's time for Kondo to fight with the other ones, last part started and only the final movie is left, damn I feel so bad I don't want to finish Gintama :'((
