William is a clever man. With that type of planning, it feels like he's playing chess by gathering all the pieces (people) he wants.

It looks like this episode takes place on a liner with a new story arc. William himself managed to construct a drama scenario with a thrilling sensation.

Chapter 5 of the manga: The "Noahtic" Act. 1

Another nobleman in the way of the Moriarty Family's ambition to revolt the status quo of nobles and commoners, and taking place in the Bible-named luxury liner of a chessboard, and all its people merely chess pieces in an intricate plan. LET THE CURTAIN ARISE!

"Our goal isn't crime, crime is simply a means to an end." DAMN, to change the people's perspectives through death, this is such an interesting take on the psychological curve, even using criminals to do their dirty work without being accused of it. Parfait!

And wait...did Sherlock appear THAT EARLY? Yes it is, the momentary bet of visual deciphering.

Even though the whole thing was a staged event, it's just impressive that everything is kept under wraps as tightly as possible. A murder encountered...this sensation I cannot shake off...!

Part 2 next week, and this series isn't letting up!

WHOA! Another great episode!
Team Moriarty is now executing their huge plan to change the world, pitting criminals against each other. Every part of the plan is well-executed. But, Sherlock Holmes is on board!!

Sherlock is here and he already came face to face with Moriarty, that was amusing.

Once again things went exactly as Moriarty planned and now he's at the crime scene. Now what will his next move be? Is he gonna get interupted by Sherlock? Really excited to see what will happen.

Oh, boy, a bishounen Sherlock that likes to wow the ladies, no Watson in sight. Also, another soon-to-be-dead Warped Evil Guy. These stories are starting to get boring; I hope Sherlock at least makes Moriarity sweat a bit.

Yes! Love that they're taking more time to build the conflict rather than rushing it so it can get solved in one episode. We know their objective, but what are they going to do to "equalize it?" Publicly hunt him at the ballet?

Also I LOVE the dynamic between Sherlock and Moriarty. Hope they explore that more.

Sherlock can tell that someone is a mathematician because they stare at spiral staircases? Seems legit. I have a math degree too, and sure I like geometry sometimes, but come on.

Enders is the most ridiculously evil noble yet. He is probably trying to set a new record. Also not the most subtle killer when he chooses to murder a person in his own cabin and makes very little effort to hide it.

Much more entertaining than the last two episodes, for sure.

Great episode again.

Enders comfortably strides his way to the top of the ignoble noble list. He's probably the worst among everyone we've seen till date.

I like how they were slowly riling Ender up until he indulged in his "activities". They even made it so he killed a criminal. Interesting.

We finally got to see Sherlock, he sure made an impression and I really do hope we see more of him.
Very excited to finally have an "arc" of sorts instead of the episodic content from before.

Another 10/10 episode. We got to understand Moriarty’s plan to change the world thru staged crimes as well as an introduction to Sherlock. Can’t wait to see how he factors into the story over the second half.

Enders caught red handed, literally, this’ll be fun

Sherlock finally makes his appearance in the story. It would be interesting if he gets more involved in the future to try and counter Moriarty's ambitions, I think it would be nice to see Moriarty face challenges that would require him to alter his plans.

Those first met between Sherlock and Moriarty just awesome. Even though, for the grand outline i am still confused as hell, how he could figure out his job pretty easily by my logic. But, hey, he was great at deducting something, so its not a big deal when knewing his intentions. Then, when Moriarty sent a counter statement to reply Sherlock's deduction, i knew the spark of rivality and competition already started from those coincidence meeting. Only if Sherlock had a supernatural premonition ability, he could easily dismantle Moriarty's grand scheme on these episode too, Lol. But, its looks like he might had a screen time to, at least, try to figuring out whats goin on happened on those ship. Well, only the next episode will tell the truth behind their action.

Because so far, those Count, was ready to dance, over Moriarty's stage. Everyone might be looking at him, as the show at the first sequence. What a grand plan to destroyed the city from behind, via their own nobleman. Well, i simply like that!

Okay, lets see how well Moriarty drama to confronted those awful human hunter that called himself a noble!

Yup. They made Sherlock a bit of ladies man though which is a bit of stretch, but I suppose they needed to add their own original ideas for the character somewhere.

Good episode, I like it, except if the smart man is Sherlock Holmes, then the mangaka blew the prestige of Sherlock.
Sherlock wouldn't be afraid of Moriarty if he shows high intelligence, and Sherlock wouldn't SHOW OFF his skills to some women.
I think it's like this because the mangaka likes Moriarty more than Sherlock, but he has to respect the character.

You could definitely say the same thing to the BBC Sherlock, he would easily say I study in the bakery course with few clues, I would be astonished and surprised if he managed to do that.

I am not exactly sure how you thought they made him into a ladies' man just because he were around some ladies who were impressed by his skills. I wouldn't say he is one, but I think he likes to impress? I don't know, but that type of Sherlock doesn't strike me as a ladies man.

Very interesting episode so far and it seems like it's split in multiple parts. This one definitely set the stage for what's coming up next, and I freakin' loved the way Sherlock and William had their first encounter. That was so funny. At this point I'm just waiting for the show to sell me the other characters as well, cuz so far it does a great job with everything else, especially setting the atmosphere and how much it makes it so that you too hate these noble bastards just as much as William's gang do.

Ya know the problem with William's analogy is basically similar to socialism, the bigger problem is if their plan to eliminate the nobility in the picture meant that William plans to the the sole autocrat of his planned socialistic society ...in other replace an imperfect democracy with his style of socialisms....

damn cliffhanger.

I thought this was "The Hound of the Baskervilles" for a moment, and I was thinking that the characters weren't old enough to reach that arc yet. lol

Sherlock showed up with his deductions!! I was so excited when I saw him. His deductions weren't as satisfying as they are in the books, but I still enjoyed seeing it. And, Moriarty also did his own deductions proving that he's Sherlock Holmes' equal. I wish they explained how he reached that conclusion.

Sherlock Holmes isn't a grumpy or serious guy here. He's talking and laughing with people like he does in the books. Well, he was a bit too attractive. When I read the books, he feels like a thin old man. But, I don't think think his age has ever been mentioned in the story. (I might be wrong though.) I hope they do age a little by the time we reach the Reichenbach Waterfalls.

So the two geniuses met each other- finally! It appears that this anime (and I guess the manga it's derived from) will treat William Moriarty and Sherlock Holmes just like Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holme's writer) did : as virtually equivalent in observation and deduction skills, intelligence, knowledge and brilliance by and large; which is quite exciting! Professor Moriarty is Holmes' nemesis for a reason - though I guess in this particular story it will be the other way around; Holmes will serve as Moriarty's nemesis and basic obstacle to his plans.

Since Moriarty already "solved" the murder I suppose the second part will be at least partly about Sherlock Holmes seeing through Moriarty's brilliant orchestration of that murder (though I doubt he will also be able to prove it). And so the conflict between the Moriarty gang and Holmes & Watson will at last begin! I loved that Moriarty "upgraded" his plans to a more nuanced and elaborate scheme; instead of having the "bad nobles" killed one by one (which could take forever) it is much more clever and effective to expose them for who they are to the public, starting with that psycho Count.

Of course Holmes will see through that, either next week or eventually, so Moriarty should not have underestimated him.

The violin bit was from Sherlock's fingers (the hands and fingers of violinists have very subtle "tells"); the fighting skills bit was from Sherlock's build and probably from his body language (probably a guestimate). We all know about the "chemicals" bit (Moriarty must have smelled them) but I have no idea how he got that "scientific instruments" part; did he also smell them too?
I don't know, did Victoria era scientific instruments emit smells? What Moriarty didn't get is the same that Holmes didn't get : their respective private criminal (consultant) / detective jobs. Why? Because there was no way to tell just from observing and examining each other. They are both observation prodigies but cannot read minds.

I was also impressed that this Sherlock is much more social - or at least must less anti-social - and extroverted than most other Sherlock portrayals.

You have interesting observation skills. Also, I didn't know you could recognise violin players with their hands.

I never thought of Sherlock being an extrovert. He always felt like a social introvert to me. You know, like the kind of person who can talk to people without any problems, but wouldn't talk to people if he doesn't have to.

Thanks, but I am much less observant than I wish I was (for instance, since I occasionally write, it would help me to write better stories). Mere mortals cannot recognize violinists from their hands or fingers (I certainly couldn't) but people like top violin pros could probably do it. However I doubt anyone could distinguish an occasional violin player like Sherlock from a professional violin player (like Moriarty did) or a violin player from a viola player just from examining their hands.
You are right, I believe that's how Arthur Conan Doyle wrote Sherlock, as largely an introvert and rather anti-social. So this manga/anime is quite a departure from the source material, at least in that regard.

Sherlock was the only redeemable points in this episodes. Otherwise it's still the usual story of eradicating one-dimensional evil nobleman. It's getting boring if they don't tweaks or vary this repetitive nature of the storytelling.

Moriarty's interaction with Sherlock (assuming his Sherlock but, I am sure he is) was interesting as fuck. I don't understand how Sherlock and Moriarty were able to deduce those things about each other but, intelligent people are built differently lmao.

Cool, this is our first multiple parts story. I appreciate that there is more build up to the crime for this story. Now how will they end Enders.
