I do it a lot of times to remember all important elements before watching the new season, but sometimes it's really tires me, mostly when I have more than one anime to watch next season.

Depends, some don't need a rewatch while some do. I need to rewatch the first 2 seasons of Oregairu since I barely remember anything from the show now

I only do it if, it's a show I haven't seen in a long while. For example I rewatched Shingeki no Kyojin, because I hadn't watched S1 since 2013.

I mostly don't.
If I'm going to start a second season of an anime, it means I like that anime enough that I remember all the plot/ characters.

If I don't even remember the plot of that anime, it is unlikely that I like that anime to begin with.

I barely rewatch anything be it anime or otherwise.

My only anime exceptions were One Punch Man s1 and Tiger and Bunny.

And I only watched them for the whole experience not to prepare for a second season.

It depends. Usually I don't, but there's some exceptions. Like how I'm rewatching Free! right now before I start the movies/3rd season.

I never did with anime but I'm planing to do once JoJo P6 is out, maybe Dr. Stone S02 too, and when/if I get back to AoT and Gintama as I haven't completed anything past S01 for both. The closest I did, however, was when I rewatched Digimon Adventure 01 to prepare for it's reboot.

Not always, but pretty often. Depends on how much time passed since I watched the previous parts and whether or not there's a story that might be hard to fully understand without remembering details.

Me I do it with almost every anime because I don't want miss important elements especially when there is a lot of characters and want to remember them and their devlopment , but sometimes it's annoyiiiiiing!

Pretty often. I tend to binge watch my anime in order to keep my enthusiasm up, assuming whatever I'm watching is able to generate any. But because I go through series' so quickly, that means they don't stick in my memory for too long, or I only remember the major points and forget small plot elements. Re-watching helps me remember, as well as regain my excitement. Though if a series was just 'meh' for me, then obviously it wouldn't be worth it to re-watch.

Most of the time I don't rewatch the previous seasons, but instead I watch recap episodes/movies if they are available. That's their existence purpose isn't it?

Nah, just recaps if there is one. Take Code Geass Black Rebellion for example, about two hours long, recaps the more important stuff from the first season (25 episodes). Though I would only watch something like that if I hadn't seen the previous season in a few years.

If I don't remember stuff, then I'll maybe google it or rewatch it till it jogs my memory.

If I do remember, than no, I'm not gonna rewatch it. If I really like the series I might rewatch it, but just because a new season is coming, nah.

Do you ever get nostalgia for a series you loved along time ago? Ik it's not everyone's cup of tea but I originally watched Great Teacher Onizuka around 2007. But I knew about it since I read about it advertised in Jump in 2003. I've rewatched it 5 or 6 times now over the years. It transcends typical anime to me for it in some way resonates with what I like in a way I can't exactly explain.

I think I have down this just once ore twice. Usually, I don't. However, I am thinking of rewatching Oregairu S2 before watching S3, but I have still not got to start rewatching that.

I don't think I have. Closest thing is that I binged the first 2 seasons of OreGairu before season 3 aired. I binged them 2 days before the 3rd season aired

No, I don't think I've ever done this, not even once. If I really need a refresher on a show, sometimes I'll skim through some episode summaries, but usually I just watch the new season with no preparation.

I rather use that time to watch shows that I haven't seen instead

Nope, I rarely rewatch anything. Sometimes it would be smart to watch old seasons before new ones though, often I find myself in the middle of a bunch of characters I don't remember xD

Rarely,Theres usually alot of seasons to rewatch and now to go for a 36-72 long rushed bingewatch is a bit... Besides i dont want to delay watching the new season for much time.

No, not really. I'll watch a recap episode or movie, if it exists, but not the whole series. And if possible I try to not watch an anime if I know it has more seasons announced already. I rather wait for there to be more of it for me to bing or watch at my own pace. That's why I haven't started yet with Neverland or Dr. Stone for example.
I probably regret this post by now.

Nope, I never do that

Generally, watching the first episode of the new season is enough for me to remember the plot and the characters

However if the sequel of an anime I have in my PTW list is announced, I might try to prioritize watching the first season(s) of this anime so I can watch the sequel, already did that with some shows like Oregairu and I plan to do the same with the upcoming Higurashi

I will only if I have a really bad recollection of the prior seasons, which usually I don't so I dont have to worry about it too much. Plus I barely watch any anime that's not finished, with the biggest exception of both of these being Attack on Titan. I've had to rewatch season 2 3 times because for some reason I just find it so forgettable, and I like it too which makes it so weird. Aside AOT though it's something I don't really have to worry about.

No, I don't really have the time to rewatch things. I normally like it if there's a quick recap of the important stuff from the first episode of the new season.

Just a few times when the sequel takes quite a while before coming out like in the case of re zero or the code Geass movie.

Its not necessary for me since I have good memory, I could rewatch recaps or read the wiki if possible.
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

Depend on the anime and how long it has been since the previous season. If the seasons are only a few months apart then I dont. Oregairu is like 5 or 6 years so I will rewatch. Something like bleach when it does its final season I wont rewatch even though it has been so long. Its just too much to rewatch again, even though I have watched it all twice.

I just recap if I need to but I generally remember I think for like Oregairu its more I want to see it all at once now that it is all done.
