Oh geez, that's not good. Getting caught by the security service department sounds like a real mess.

I love how they managed to divided the roles for the main trio this episode though. Kanamori doing the management, Asakura with her usual clever ideas, and Mizusaki making the artwork. It's all a team effort.

The worldbuilding in Eizouken is absolutely amazing! I'd wish that the IRL authors could be as creative for stories they're writing for few years, as Asukasa can be for multiple stories, for which I guess she works about 2 months.

This episode lined us up for an intense finale! Loved the beginning with Asakusa playing, their advisor saying the best work can come from play. You can't coop someone up having them only focus on work without any fun or leisure. Which is probably a commentary on the anime industry itself but here it serves the freshen up their grind to complete this short. also lets Asakusa go bananas for a minute wandering off into that flooded roadway they wandered around on. Funny every time they call her a tanuki and now even a kappa. She is very animal like with her reactions.

The flashback to how Asakusa and Kanamori meet was great. showed how they're more than just friends they have a sense of comradery with each other to give and take accordingly also helping one another. Bringing around what Asakusa would use as the theme and story for their short. The theme of coexistence is amazing. Telling a short story about how two groups of people stopped caring for one another and thus lead to them misunderstanding and harming one another is exactly poignant imo. Very much rings true to a lot of modern day conflicts.

Kanamori getting sick surprised me since she's usually so tough but even the best of us are human. Had a big smile when she said that now the media is promoting them which means now the school can't go jack to them which their work has gotten a groundswell of support. The end kind of spelled doom for their work since the main sound track isn't what it's supposed to be but hopefully they can pull it out for a fantastic final product.

I'm already dead so it's fine.

Mood

Even when sick in bed Kanamori is yelling at Tsubasa and Asakusa to keep them on target, we stan a true leader

aw man, the demo track was misleading? Only one episode to go to get everything ready, can't wait to see how they'll sort it out. Can't believe the show's almost over, it's been so fun observing the creative process behind anime and all the hard work that goes into just a brief episode.

Hoping there's some people who've watched this who get motivated to go on and create their own art!
See y'all next week for the conclusion

What I learned the most from this anime is the role of the producer (Kanamori)

Other roles are clear and well-defined, but producer, whose role is 'to make things happen', was kinda up in the air in my head, now I think I know better than before

the music they ordered for the dancing number outcome came different from the demo they had previously. The animation that Mizusaki did didn't fit the track at all from what we seen in the final moment of the episode

I really love how intriguing Asakusa's ideas are. Once again she thought of an amazing story. The backstory of how Asakusa and Kanemori met was nice.

For once they completed the short anime with time in hand but looks like there's some issue with the sound. Hope they can fix it in time, looking forward to the final episode.

Kanamori calling sick, what a coincidence with the current times. Again, I don't liked how the student council is trying to make things harder for the girls. Another flashback, now we got to see how Asakuza-shi and Kanamori became friends. That last segment... Did someone accidentally messed up or was on purpose? Man, I'll miss this show so much.

The student council of this school has Kakegurui levels of power. Pretty scary. And I wonder how they are going to turn this one around. Music and footage are such a missmatch.

Not much left, huh? I am so gonna miss this show. It reminds me a lot of much of my own childhood and teenage years, when I discovered my surroundings and let my fantasy go wild. Even a simple sewer tunnel or a creek can seem mysterious and make you imagine the wildest things.

Who else caught the Ghost in the Shell (1995) reference?

The opening to this episode mirrors the opening to the GitS movie, even matching a lot of the dialogue :'). Loving this show so far!

glad to see the elder teacher was giving the right advice. It's good to work hard, but if you don't get your mind to turn gears in a way that is estimulating you'll soon wind up exhausted.

Kanamori has a strong wil and is usually the "smarter person in the room", but she gets a bit too focused on the direct path to results, and creative work simply don't work like that.

OMG. I FKN LOVE IT!
The only thing better than a quirky high-school Asakusa, is a loner middle-school Asakusa with trouble fitting into society and reservations about making friends because of it.

I loved the little backstory of how they met,
Asakusa is the definition of a sheltered, quirky specimen and it was really enjoyable seeing her reaction to receiving the 1000 yen and her first train ride.

Again, they were able to masterfully weave the story of Asakusa and Kanamori’s coexistence as middle schoolers, with a give-and-take mentality into a plot relevant point for the story... similarly in episodes past with Kanamori and the loss she felt as a child when she learned the relationship between profit and success.

Something I noticed that was pretty hilarious is how they frame the student council as the bad guys with their men in black during the festival, and now in this episode with their SWAT team scene.

Only one episode left, hopefully we get some hope towards a second season because I can’t get enough of this anime!!!

The part with the guards attacking the police and their boss yelling at them made me remind of GitS but thought it's something common, I guess another missed refence thanks to so many other media referencing it.

Yes, It seems. And the dance seems like Yoake Tsugeru Lu no Uta (Lu Over the Wall)

The situation with the music is that they have only that Background Music and it doesn't fit in with anything. That's what I understood...

I don't know much about the director, other than that his work tends to be weird and artsy.
In hindsight, I can easily see how Eizouken could have been an average anime. But, what puts it over the top, not only is it the multifaceted characters, who all have their own unique perspectives and material conditions, it is also the unbelievably inventive environment, with such a rich history. As well as the interconnected relationships between the characters. I think this show will be even better upon rewatch, knowing the motivations and backstories of the characters, and understanding what makes them tick. Maybe I just haven't watched enough anime, but this is such a good show, I might revise my score from a 9 to a 10. This show is probably one of those few anime that truly resonates with me in every way, because I so thoroughly relate to every aspect of it.
I was in a Media Arts class- Asukasa, Mizaki, Kanamori, and Doumeki could have easily been students there. I recognize the sheer comradanery between creative types in multiple fields. The clashing of ideas, the fun of scouting and exploring locations, the constant sitting and staring at a computer screen, the mixture of hermit-type creatives with eccentric, hyperactive creatives, dealing with time constraints, dealing with the school faculty, etc. The world of Eizouken is microcosm of my experiences in Media Arts, as well as many other students in similar fields. This expierence is a wholly new one, with the digitalization of film and growing accessibility of the internet, creating films has never been as easy as now. Despite those advancements, film is still difficult and time consuming, and Eizouken explores those obstacles. The difference being that teenagers, not adults, are taking on those challenges. One of my teachers said that working with teenagers on film was easier than working with adults, because teenagers naturally form cliques, and they work better together as a group. Teenagers are wrangling with such an uncertain time in their life, feeling unsure about their place in the world, but they are still experiencing things with fresh eyes and are learning constantly. This is such a fascinating look into media and the youth, and this show couldn't have been made in any other time.
I could ramble about this show forever, I love it so much. I hope this show gets plenty of analysis videos in the future, since there is so much to talk about!

Looks like even the Eizouken is not safe from the coronavirus lol. But seriously I love how Asakusa tied everything together to form the story. Tying it together with a theme of coexistence really put the bow on top. Something whacky happened with the OST at the end tho. I'm sure we'll end with a happy ending for this season anyway.

The robot anime that the Eizouken wants to fulfill, still has some delay which isn't good. Plus, the student council ALWAYS finds ways to mess their order. With the impending deadline, things will have to be rushed and improvised.

With Asakusa and Mizusaki goofing off as usual, Kanamori has to flex her "authority" over the duo, but in the face of scenery, the imaginations continue to flow in an ever-immersive world-building.

However, the real star of the episode is Asakusa and Kanamori's backstory. With the money-making business that Kanamori has proven to us as her ambition last episode (or 2 ago), it's uncanny that Asakusa would join her, but the coexistent friendship truly helped.

For a while, while the robot anime went nowhere even from its internal debut, it's the outside world that helps rake in the money and results. But with the new project, the setting slowly emerges with Asakusa's joint imagination of ideas that flow like the never-ending story, back to the first point that both Asakusa and Kanamori both didn't want, but had to anyways because of society: coexistence, living in harmony.

BUT HOLY SHIT, the music just went off-the-rails just as everything is put together. If there's one foundation element their show cannot afford to cut corners is in the music department. The finale next week...let this film work!

Middle-schooler Midori is just too adorable! Can I adopt the awkward little tanuki, please?

Another fantastic episode. Once again, the architecture of the girls' city never cease to amaze me. Can't really blame Midori for getting all excited every time.

So in the end, their project is almost finished, uh? Honestly, seeing Midori tying everything together by using the concept of "coexistence" as a basis was quite nice but with that sudden issue regarding the music, I wonder if they will have to change/modify the final sequence.

Yup, things were going too well during the second half there and Mizusaki-shi pretty much set up a death flag right then. It'll be interesting to see how they'll counter this issue with not too much time to spare.

Damn, the Security Department though. Seems like they're well-trained and equipped, what's up with this school xD. Student Council in charge of that now though is a little worrying but hopefully they'll bite later on when this project is done and dusted.

Adventuring the town was pretty cool too. I'm really curious about the mystery of this town as well but the story that Asukasa has cooked up isn't half bad at all either. A bit of a Director's slump at the start but she's done well to beat that black and blue. Credits to the Club Advisor! Lol, I totally understand that feeling of overdoing it with the plans too.

And finally, that was some sweet backstory between Asukasa and Kanamori. Comrades through and through, I like the sound of that. Kanamori with the COVID-19 was an interesting add too, lol.

Just one more episode to go... We need a Season 2 of this, like seriously!

ok so. the problem is that the trio was given some demo music from the band they hired to make the music for their short, and that demo was fine. But when they sent in the final draft of the song, it was completely off and it was the only track they had.

Only one episode left... I'm not ready to leave those girls.
Once again, I loved this episode ! The message was very heartwarming, didn't except it.
The new anime seems great, I can't wait to see it in the last episode ! But I like the music, it gives a poetic vibe to the video... I wonder if this is something they'll realize and that'll lead for them to keep it anyway ? Or maybe they won't be able to change it but the audience will feel the same as me... I really wonder what this last scene will lead to.
For the rest, Asakusa's and Kanamori's backstory was cute ! But Asakusa is me on so many levels, it's starting to become scary. Asakusa, I feel you girl.
Seeing Kanamori with the same grin as her young self when she received the money was priceless though ! I love her.
Also, did she catch a cold due to having plunged in the water to save Asakusa ? Poor soldier, fallen in combat for the sake of the airhead...
