It's too bad their screenining for the robot short didn't go perfec. The frustration is kinda understandable but I'm glad Mizusaki isn't giving up.

Looks like the episode had some fan service in the baths lol. But for real, I'm rooting for this club to succeed. They got so much potential in what they've been doing with their minds.

It was a nice episode focusing Mizusaki with her backstory. That random short battle in the bath lol.

Onsen episode! I didn't expected it coming from this series. Can't feel nothing but respect for Misuzaki's determination to make animation. This part made me laugh...

Mizusaki is best girl. The transitions between reality and imagination, and the way they were able to get across the feeling of animation itself, were much more effective in this episode than in the others. Maybe starting off with a flashback to Mizusaki's childhood helped set the tone? Sort of felt like it was all coming from a more centered, real, place in the character's imaginations.

This was a particularly good episode.

Looked like there were some 3D robot models in that one scene, which made me kind of nervous, but they could be using that for something else(?)

I loved the opening segment about Mizusaki's backstory. I guess we just need some segments about little Kanamori now to round things out.

This episode reassured my hunch that we're essentially watching what will become an ageless classic as it unfurls. Gotta love Yuasa's style.

The episode itself was charming in presentation and smooth in reception; an impartial 5 outta 5.

Absolutely loved how Mizusakis character was fleshed out. Her interest, understanding, appreciation and love for animation really came to shine.

Couple cool things. I didn't know there were crawfish in Japan, that's awesome.

Second, I love how none of the girls are drawn in a very obviously girl way. I.e when they're taking baths there's not massive tits flopping around or anything that distracts you from the intent of the anime, which is to teach you about anime production. This show is such a love letter to the craft and industry and it's beautiful to see. You can tell the creators and director put a lot of themselves into the show especially that scene where Tsubame is learning how to draw moving people from watching the people in the studio walk.

Tsubame has been my fave from day one, really like her design, personality and just overall vibe.

I really enjoyed Mizusaki's backstory in the first part of this episode. She has an attention to detail which is necessary when it comes to animation. The robot project is starting to come together, they just got to iron out a few details with the sound and animation details.

Not to say the whole episode wasn't great, but the first few minutes in particular stood out to me. I wonder how many animators can relate to the way Mizusaki started seeing the world as a kid?

This episode focused on Mizusaki. She may be my favourite member of the trio because of how obsessed with detail she is. She's usually the least popular member here so it was good seeing her get the spotlight this episode. It also felt like animators were praising themselves lol
I believe they exceptionally enjoyed creating this anime.

Is it just me, or was the direction this episode even better than usual? Its always really, really excellent, but I feel like for the 25 minute episode it managed to tie a lot together with unique shots and well-paced storytelling.

God this anime continues to amaze me every week. I like how they actually used what the girls were saying in the animation. So when they were describing the rocket in detail they mentioned motion and Mizusaki's hair was blowing back and forth. Freaking amazing anime week in and week out.

So that's where Mizusaki's passion for details came from. A productive girl since childhood.
This episode's also shown us how the lack of directing is a bad idea. Good thing that girl was willing to correct the backgrounds for that guy.

anyone working or studying anything creative-oriented would have a lot of appretiation for this anime. God, that feeling of "i don't care if no one appretiates it, I do, and the finer details that 99% of people miss are the kind of details i live for and give me strength".

Feel ya so hard there, buddy.

Well, if this was an ecchi anime they will Censored the bathhouse scenes with more Fogs or light , but if it's just another regular anime without ecchi Genres like this anime no Censored 🤷‍♂️
Anyway, the backstory about Mizusaki was really great 🙂

I really liked this episode. One of the best so far for sure. I liked the way it ended with the tea being thrown just like in the begining. Gave the episode a feeling of a cycle of imagination and care for movement that can be passed on.

Keep it up Yuasa-san!

Definitely my favorite episode for now
Tsubame's relationship with her grandmother is relatable, and her speech about animation was quite motivating, at least for me
I wonder about Kanamori's backstory...

This episode captured the show's DNA better than any other. Best episode yet.

My favourite bit was to see what drives Tsubame who started it all originally by running away from her bodyguards. Surprisingly, the reason was deep yet plausible. And hen there was this extremely relaxed onsen and restaurant scene which got me all comfy after a stressful day. All of this followed up by even more excitement over animation.

Right now I am craving a pot of steamed crayfish. Send food please.

I love how anti-moe this show can get. An entire scene in a bathhouse with NO fan service. Just a bunch of a dorks playing with the water.
Also, if you didn't know Doumeki was a girl, here's your proof.

Oh my god, did I relate to "it's faster doing it yourself than having it explain it to someone else". My god Asakusa is so damn relatable.

Also, totally get Mizusaki's view.Richard Williams(RIP) once said that animation isn't drawings that move, but rather movement which is drawn. When I had an animation obsession for a while, I was fantasized by movement. Obviously, my lack of patience probably didn't help with the actual animating part. But even now I find myself staring at the ceiling fan lol....

i bet she could discern the different between 144 fps vs 165 fps!

I love that line at the end.... "I have to proclaim 'Here I Am' to the people who can appreciate each individual movement..." which ends with the Grandma tossing the tea.

It's crazy how one little movement is enough to encapsulate a viewer, as it did with young Mizusaki with the Grandma and the tea. I think I understand where she's coming from now.

Nice character development!

Getting some Mizusaki love as her prowess starts showing up this episode!

Just by watching her grandmother pour tea, the movement so encapsulated in her mind, with it being rhetorics since young. Furthermore, bringing that imagination was just amounts of never-ending inspiration and some physical work. Impressive, color me surprised.

Back into the Eizouken Club, the robot anime project has hit a stumble due to lack of music, VA and sound FX, but with the Robot and Music clubs, it still has a ways to go, the specifics of which even it takes some creative effort from the original creator (a.k.a Asakusa). #Relatable

And then there's fanservice, thankfully not for obvious reasons. It's nice to have scenes like this that don't focus in on the wrong things, but rather the girls on their usual gimmicks.

Mizusaki has the most pointers this episode for her role in the animation department, goes to show that animation takes effort and attention to detail. When she spouted that "people want to smile when watching your created anime", I genuinely smiled.

It's people like Mizusaki that have been carved for moments in their lives to strike at their efforts with whatever they can. And this episode returns to the roots of the series strongly. A wonderful episode that flew by fast.

I don't know why but seeing Midori calling her parents to say them where she was was so cute >.<

Another quite charming episode. Personally, Tsubame was the least interesting of the trio so I'm glad she finally received some proper characterization. Gotta respect that level of passion she has for her works. It's truly inspiring actually.

God that was such a great episode! Mizusaki's really grown a ton on me as a character, her childhood flashback was such a fun and wholesome thing to watch, and her speech at the very end was fucking amazing. Man there's just something about this show that hits me at my core and makes me feel warm enough to feel like I'm gonna tear up at times when the music just syncs in perfectly and you get to see the genuine passion flow from these girls as if they're real people.
