What are your thoughts on GL / yuri?
| The question says it all. Also do you have a comfortable range with? In other words you're fine with explicit yuri or do you prefer an implied one? Aside from the obvious question, do you have a problem with GL ships in non yuri shows? I personally have a problem with it because shippers get really defensive about their ships but it's not specific to yuri ones. |

| I think it's hot, the explicit one. I have no problems with the implied yuri and the shippers are just thirsty fans. They aren't that bad, they just write stuff on forums. The only yuri that made me uncomfortable was Cocona x Papika because but I still enjoyed it. |

| I find it about as hot as straight romance/porn. Genders involved don't really matter to me. As long as it's done well I like it and when it's done badly I don't. The poll is kinda inconsistent though using straight/bi for guys and lesbian/bi for women. What's the reasoning behind that? I think bi should just be separate from straight or gay tbh. |

If I care about the characters and if there is some sort of romantic sub-plot revolving around said characters, I'm into it, though not necessarily in a sexual way; like a 65-35 split in favor if me having a more platonic interest in it, similar to a heterosexual pairing in a traditional love story. But if it's just yuri for the sake of yuri where it's all flash and no substance, then I'm bored. |

I care especially very little about the sex of drawn characters where one really feels that their sex is whatever the author tells you it is at many times. There are so many of these cartoon characters where you feel "Oh, so this is a male... if they told me it was a female I would have believed it as well." and in reverse. | I’m a gay guy, but that doesn’t say much. Seriously, I don’t really care whether there are 2 girls or 2 boys. The plot is more important. If the story and the characters are good, then fine I’m going to watch the anime. Some examples: Madoka Magica (yuri undertones), Shin Sekai Yori, etc Personally if I had to choose, I would say shoujo ai is better than shounen ai. All shounen ai animes fall flat, and end up being one of the most boring genres imho. Whereas shoujo ai animes tend to be more complex and more interesting Sooo yeah, the answer to your question: it’s hot if I care about the characters, therefore I find shoujo ai animes hotter |
