| First of all, the fact that is placed #1 in MAL doesn't mean the entire anime fandom worldwide thinks it's the "best anime ever". It's just the consensus in this website, that's all. Personally no, not the most outstanding show I've seen, but it's still a very competent and damm thrilling show despite some minor issues (like the extremely rushed introduction) so I don't have any objections to see it in the first position. |

| It's a great show. It has a wide appeal, it builds up one of the best shonen action adventures ever, but I don't think it's the best anime of all time. I don't even think its the best anime in the FMA franchise. |

| I don't think FMAB is the best anime ever, but I do understand why it is number 1 in MAL (and almost every anime ranking site). To be fair, it has good story and characters as well as gorgeous animation and music. It depends on you really, MAL score is not absolute fact and you don't have to take it too seriously. |

| It's rather anime everyone should know, but not the best for sure. Transfer characters, ending from FMAB to FMA and then I would call it the best, cuz I didn't like FMAB thoes "comedy" parts and enjoyed that FMA was darker. |

| I can hardly think of a show more deserving of the #1 spot, honestly. It has a wide appeal bundled with a fantastic story, complex characterization, and engrossing philosophical concepts. With all of these at play, and you have a show that's destined to be widely loved and respected by the masses as well as critics. |
| its not the best for me personally but its a safe high ranking anime for a lot of fans because it has a conclusive ending, the anime is not that drag and not that rush either, good philosophical things like god and the self as well as all is one and one is all (life and death cycle), plus consistent good animation quality especially during battle scenes |

| For a while I thought it was, and would still say it's one of my favorites, although classifying anything as "the best ever" I think is kinda dumb since media does not have a factual score saying how good it is. What I will say is it's possibly the most universal anime that's generally considered to be great. The impression I get is most people think it's at least great (I know that there are those of you who disagree here, hence 'most people') plus it's the sort of story that actually can appeal to a pretty wide range of fans. Hence it's popularity and why it's remained at #1 on MAL for so long. |

| It's a great show if you get past the rush beginning and the cringy comedy,the plot is very well written,the cast is likeable,and the villains are intimidating and there's a great sense of danger all the time. It might not be everbody's cup of tea but it's the type of show ,which a casual viewer or a veteran viewer are going to enjoy. |

| Not really. The beggining was just ok in terms of storytelling and there was too many jokes. Things just start to get really great after Hughes death. But I guess it only made me think that it could be one of the best anime of all time on the last arc. Until then it was a great experience, but nothing extremely out of this world. But I will say that it is on my top 5 (maybe on my top 3) |
