Cool, Shizue is finally appearing in a more prominent manner after the flashbacks and short cameos.

Looks like Rimuru is back in the village with the goblins. I have to admit, Shizue is such a badass with her abilities. It's really feels like fate that Rimrur meets her just like the crystal ball showed.

Shizue and Rimuru has some charming chemistry between them already :D

This adaptation really is a blessing.

Everything was just on point. The pacing continues to be very fitting and it's clearly taking its time to get all the scenes right. The combat animation and overall visuals are again a treat to watch.

Sao, Slime & Bunny Girl really got the lucky draw with the way their properties are being treated.

Oh and god damn did they make Shizue adorable as all hell. Why are you doing this to me.

Good episode as always, but, i have a question, if she's a WW2 survivor, how the hell she heard that phrase which is from a game? This detail bothered me a little

So wait, how did Shizu recognize Rimuru's quote from some video game if she died in World War 2?

I have a hard time believing there were games like that in the 1930s

Not necessarily. She doesn't actually know if Rimuru is Japanese or not. I've heard of American WW2 vets and Japanese citizens at the time getting married. And not everyone judges people based on the actions of their country.

Indeed. Rimuru and Shizue aren't the only Japanese that exist in that world.

OOOOOHHH...Shizu FINALLY makes her entrance...and she is just as good and able-bodied as presented in the OP!! And...Rimuru's FATED person comes as fast as expected!

Did Rigurd HAD man-boobs??? And Veldora's disappearance certainly add to Rimuru's problems: Name-giving again! HAHA xD And never thought that Gobta would escape unharmed...such an idiotic but comedic character. DOWNVOTED by Great Rimuru!

Looks like the outside world is just as concerned as Veldora's disappearance, and with learning Shizu's origins, Rimuru had better be on his feet in learning the world-building around him.

Oh, and that cliffhanger ending...OH WHY??? Guess the ED really explains little but really, another great episode in the books.

Ah okay missed that. Not sure what kind of conversation would end up with someone telling her about that in their current world though but fair enough :p

Interesting episode that introduced quite an intriguing new character in the form of Shizu. The adventure party sure is having a tough time. Its nice seeing Kaijin and his men integrate so well with the goblins and assist in improving their tech. The results that this had on the goblins was quite impressive. Shizu's display of her skills was awesome. So the girl from the first ep was Shizu then. It was kind of Rimuru to show Shizu the Japan she never got to see. Loved the new visuals that showcased new characters that have to appear. Though from the flag seems Shizu will end up as an opponent for Rimuru.

and it will take a long time for Rimuru to meet with another fellow from Japan, i don’t think this series can reach that with this pace, it’s still nice though.

it will most likely cover 4 volumes, vol 2 will start on episode 8 and finish on episode 12 or 13 most likely

So we're introduced to Shizu and learn a bit about her background, which I found pretty interesting.

This was another good episode, and I liked the part that explained what happened with Gobta after he was left in the prison lol.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

I'm glad that they showed how Gobta was able to escape from prison in Dwargon with his new ability to summon a Tempest Wolf. He's got some good skills right there, but he's a bit useless in teaching the other goblins about it, so Rimuru's respect level for him went up AND then back down because of it. XD

Shizu's introduction was really cool. Her combat skills against the massive ants was a treat to watch with some lovely animation and impressive attacks. She and Rimuru got along really well, which was nice.

And that led to the scene where she reveals to Rimuru that she also came from Japan, but during the era of WW2, where she was summoned just as the bombs landed as she was escaping with her mother. The whole scene was pretty sad to watch, but it was really nice of Rimuru to show Shizu how Japan grew to the modern country it is today. Of course, the Elf stripping scene was hilarious and the only thing that Shizu mentioned about it was that "she was pretty". Oh, bless her. ^_^

However, since she has Ifrit residing within her and how she acted in pain near the end of the episode, it does leave some flags being set up. That's my assumption, since I'm an anime-only here, but I think the signs are pointing in that sort of direction.

Best episode so far? I certainly think so. =D

Wait is that a Dragon Quest reference...?

Anyway a near flawless adaptation so far. The pacing and animation is superb as always.

Never thought the studio would not skip minor details to flesh out Tensura's world like giving Ranka motivation to become even stronger by letting him witness his next stage of evolution, how Gobta who was completely forgotten in the last episode made his escape from the prison, showing the consequences of Rimuru's action of making Veldora disappear and of course how the dwarfs integrate in the now developing village and showing the progress by increasing the goblins' wardrobe selection.

Can't wait for next episode!

Damn, he’s literally going to building a country (like he mentioned in this episode). It is really nice to see the perspective of the monsters.

Gobta lol, i knew there was something unique about this character when he didn’t evolve physically haha, he has a talent in him.

The new girl is so freaking cute, And the way she’s speaking and behaving, it feels like a real person than an anime character.

I knew i was going to enjoy this anime 10/10 this episode for me.

I think it will actually speed up a bit, I've even mapped it out in my head where the first cour will adapt to the end of vol 3 (of the manga) and vol 7 for the 2nd cour. (If you're referring to vol 3-4 of the novels, I think that would sync up with where I think it will adapt to in the manga so my bad)

I am loving this anime so much. It's a 10/10 for my heart. I enjoy it so much and I watch it with an ever present smile on my face.

The reunion of Rimuru and Shizu felt amazing and wholesome. How hard must have been for her abandoning her world at the brink of death, living who knows what kind of life in another world and now finding something that anchors you to your original world? That moment, that single joke must have been the most relieving thing that has happened to her. It really was a heartwarming scene.

The goblin village is going great so far and poor Gobta was actually left behind xD

I like the 3 adventurers. I hope they are recurrent characters. They seem to be good comic relief, goofy characters.

I'm 100% O K with the slow pacing the series is taking to develop the plot. I'm glad the team behind this made it a full 2 cour series instead of 1 cour so they can adapt everything they want as good as it deserves. I have not read the LN but damn, this gives me so much Mushoku Tensei vibes... I'm loving it.

This is why I liking this so much. They are giving themselves time to develop the world and the characters instead of forcing into us a goal the MC must achieve within 12 episodes.

They are building the world, character motivations, relationships, consequences of Rimiru's actions and consequences of other characters into Rimuru's life as well.
