 The final chapter of Bleach, which will be released in the 38th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump magazine on August 22, has announced that there will be a live-action movie slated for 2018. Souta Fukushi will cast as Ichigo Kurosaki and Shinsuke Satou will direct the film.Bleach has been drawn by Tite Kubo since August 2001, and will end with 74 compiled volumes. Volume 73 recently ranked 28th in Oricon's weekly manga sales for July 18 - 24, selling 26,312 copies and adding up to a total of 387,608 copies sold. The manga was also adapted into a 366-episode TV anime, which was produced by Studio Pierrot and broadcast between October 2004 and March 2012. In addition to the TV anime, four anime movies were released, as well as two Jump Festa specials. Viz Media has licensed the manga for North American release since 2004, under their Shounen Jump label, with 3-in-1 omnibus editions released since 2007. | Sigh... sensei!!!!!! I even thought I was dreaming when I saw Bleach on the news feed.lol That's how starved for new Bleach news I have been. Bleach was my first official anime all those years ago so its very special to me. I miss all the characters and all the character voice actors. I, an avid manga reader mind you, couldn't even bring myself to read the Bleach manga. I tried and I was like "mh mh, I want to hear these guys, not read them!!!" That's how much I liked the voice actors paired with the characters. So when I saw this news I was so disappointed. I thought Kubo sensei would be telling us "Now that the manga is wrapping up (in two days T_T) we can finally get back to animating this beloved gem". Sigh... when, I really wonder when, if ever, the Bleach anime will return with *fingers crossed* all seiyuu reprising their roles. I'm a shamelessly have my cake and eat it kinda gal when it comes to my anime.lol I will continue hoping. |

| Fukushi oddly fits Ichigo... now that I think about it (at least body/appearance wise)? In spite of him usually doing shoujo prince roles, I hope he could portray Ichigo well. Him and the director have worked on at least two other movies before, Also Shinsuke Sato is a good action movie director so this might work... |
| Can't they just make a new bleach series? "Bleach: Thousand Year War" 60+ ep. They could do TK's personal ending to the series on the anime instead of going with the bum rushed manga ending. |

The Japanese's are usually alright vs the americans ruin it and shit on it usually. Basically they're never great like they should be. So ... I'm not hoping anything, really. Just curious if it'll (probably) fail like the rest. |

| Good to see we finally got a resolution about this movie, it was announced way back in like 2012 and it was supposed to be done by Hollywood. Luckly the Japanese side prevailed and we got a good cast for the main character and a pretty solid director to handle it all. I hope Kubo works with them closely and this turns out to be a good time for both sides, fans of the series and newcomers. |

| I'm not a big fan of Live Action anime movies since how much they have screwed up in the past, I wouldn't mind it if they do a great job and follow the story correctly but still I really wish they wouldn't do it. and I'm guessing I'm not the only huge fan that were thinking and hoping that they were either A. Continue the Bleach anime to tie it all up there too or B. Kubo would make a manga following the children of the bleach protagonists (I was really hoping for one of these two options since I heard that it was ending) anyone else? please. (also I wish I could've read the manga but sadly I really couldn't afford them so I missed out on the manga but the anime is still my number 1 fave anime.) |

First it loses a lot of its popularity, drags out the final arc that sucked ass, rushes the ending, finishes with a final chapter without answering anything and now gets a live action movie instead of an animated series of the final arc. That was the last nail in the coffin for Bleach, and I doubt it will be remembered in decades to come now. |
