Director Seiji Kishi has revealed in an interview that the currently airing Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (TV) 2nd Season will adapt the ending of the manga series.

The interview is published in the 12th Weekly Shounen Jump issue of the year, which will go on sale on February 22. The magazine also announced that the Ansatsu Kyoushitsu manga will release its final chapter in March 2016.

Blu-ray and DVD listings for the second season of Ansatsu Kyoushitsu indicate that the series will air for 25 episodes, ending in June. Its first season, 22 episodes long, aired in the first half of 2015.

Hmm interesting. The manga will end before the season since it's a 2 cour so I do expect some parts to be cut.

Aw man. Cuts expected now. This makes it harder for the valentine episode to appear.

Looks like it will probably be rushed. At least we get a conclusive ending.

Nice. Bold decision halfway through the first cour... maybe I won't drop S2 after all...

Maybe they'll condense the stuff that'll have to be cut into shorts/specials or something?

That was unexpected, I was holding off watching the 2nd season so far because I thought this will go on for much longer, if stuff will be skipped then maybe I'll read the manga depending on what people say when the anime finishes...

The thing is, Ansatsu Kyoushitsu manga has a lot of that that deals with character development which also removed on the first season. They will probably do it again here but I don't want some being cut like the valentine episode.

Okay, I think is good that they follow the manga to the end and go in a entire different direction, but how will they put everything that happened in the manga in the anime? I mean they will probably cut some things, because there is, after the Shinigami arc, Kayano, the last 'battle' of 3-E class and 3-A class along with Koro-sense vs Chairman, Nagisa's mother, Blue team vs Red team and others, they will propably cut some stuff like the Valantine's time, and I absolutely love it *sighs* lets just see how it will go

Surprising for sure, but I'd honestly prefer it like this with some content cut (not that it'll matter to me as I've only read up to the fifth volume of the manga) than there being an inconclusive ending.

first season had 22 episodes not 25. anyway i figured it would be like this since a 3rd season would give us fillers mixed with the main story, even it only had 12 episodes.

Its good to know that the anime will get an ending even tho there is much material as i heard around i was expecting atleast a movie for the end but well iam happy with this too since this days not many animes are finished most the time its just a middle finger and go read the LN/manga if ya want the rest >_>

I expect rush adaptation they would skip some chapters/arcs on the anime adaptation.
Let's just hope they would do it as an OVA.

I hope they plan to abridge those irrelevant arcs like they already started. Otherwise, it's going to be rushed as hell. How will you possibly fit 90-100 chapters in 18 more episodes? Congrats to the people who aren't reading the manga, I guess.

Like I thought to myself when I saw this on ANN last night, I have conflicting feelings about this news. On one hand, I'm glad we'll be getting a conclusive ending instead of hoping and waiting for another season, but at the same time, I'm not very enthusiastic about the fact that there will be so many cuts and most likely a considerable amount of rushing. I initially thought there would be a third season, or at the very least, a movie to finish whatever the 2nd season didn't cover. Oh well, lets just see how this goes.

There is nothing surprising about this news to be honest.

It baffles me that some users strongly believed that after this season they were going to get another season, even more after the announcement of the manga coming to an end this March..... Reality check: once a manga ends then the possibilities of that manga getting more seasons are usually close to zero (yes, it can happen. It happened to Working!! and few other ones, but those are rare cases).

The publisher isn’t going to waste more of their resources into making another season of a shounen series that had its manga already ended....... Publisher train of thought: better use that money to promote other (newer) shounen series instead.

At this point, they had 3 options:
1.. Ended it with an anime original ending.
2.. Leave it open ended, or
3.. Put everything they can that’s in the manga into this season to try to end it with the original manga’s ending. Yes, this will lead to the omission/exclusion of some of the source material, but you still get to see the ending animated.

I read the manga, plus I’m not a source purist like some users in this site, so I’m alright with them going with the 3rd option.
Yes, they will have to exclude and rush thru some things now (they were already doing that anyhow), but as long as the series as a whole feels ok, then I’m fine with it.

I hope they don't skip any of my favorite parts. I'm fine with them skipping the Valentine's arc but they'll have to skip much more than that.

Now can they do re-make of Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro that actually follows the manga? It's not fair that it never got a full anime adaption :(

Well that's pretty rubbish. There would be enough content for a single cour third season if they didn't try to skip so much. Pretty much everything from the Reaper arc onwards is really important for the story and character developement with not many fillers, so we will be missing some important stuff now that they are rushing it :/.

As someone who literally just finished Neuro, YES! The anime stopped like a fraction of the way through, before things even got really interesting! I'm hoping that Classroom's popularity sparks interest in a Neuro reboot.

No no... this lacks logic if anything...

Thinking on the profit side of things, it makes a lot more sense to adapt the manga into the anime realistically and leave it with an open end. That way it will make views want to go out and buy volumes of the manga to read.

I hope they will let us know what manga chapters aren't going to be adapted, so that the fans of the show can read them before seeing the ending in the anime.
