| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Ikki vs Kuraudo this episode. And I have to admit, the fight scenes were longer than I had expected. Plenty of action for their confrontation.  I think Kuraudo is the one that is surprised this episode after Ikki unleashed his powers. Never underestimate. Dat Ikki/Stella moments though. |

Too bad the nice Ikki and Stella scene at the end was removed. But at least the scene where Ayase and her father calling Ikki was removed probably because to make it more obvious that it's not a harem series. Judging from the title, Ep 9 will be like Ep 5 which half is anime original episode and half is adapted from scenes in the novel. I'd say most of the scenes in the Ep 9 that are from the LN will be from Ch 2 of Vol 3. That means we might see the cabin scene in the next episode and maybe additional Ikki/Stella scenes that are not in the LN. Ep 9 title gives little room to interpretation. It is probably "that" scene. |

| This episode was okay but had a number of big flaws, namely lack of explanations how Ittou Shura doesn't increase reaction speed therefore would be useless against Kuraudo, and how Ten'i muhou works(now it just look like a stab...). But it was over my expectations and decent enough so it's alright. |
| Ikki keeps pulling new techniques out of his ass, but I'm fine with that. Great episode and fight scene. The ending was nice. 5/5 |
| With this, I think it's safe to say that this series has the best action scenes on the season next to Gundam...My goodness this was just pure epicness Seeing the Sword Eater's weapon, Orochimaru (Reminds me so much of Zabimaru from Bleach) and then just seeing how much he and Ikki enjoyed fighting one another...The tension, their special skills,l the final showdown, dat art and animation, HOLY FUCK!!!!!!!!! Apart from that cute yet HILARIOUS Japanese Thumb Wrestle thing with Stella and Ikki lol, I'm really happy for Ayase and I respect the fact that she admitted that she cheated in her match with Ikki I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS MAIN TOURNEY THING TO START!!!!!!!! |

| Best fight scene of the series so far, even if there wasn't much to it. However, I could have done without the 5 or so minute flashback at the start that was clearly yet another attempt to make me feel pity for Ayatsuji. The quicker the series moves on from trying to force me to pity someone who I will never be able to pity, the better. |

| Very good episode, though a bunch of things were left out such as how Ittou Shura can't reduce one's reaction speed. I'm also surprised that Silver Link took out the part where Ayase's father wanted Ikki to marry Ayase. I guess they wanted to end the episode on a heartwarming note. The thumb wrestling was pretty funny though xD Another great fight scene. I really liked the animation right before Ikki used Ten'i Muhou. |

| At least this fight wasn't a one-sided onslaught by Kuraudo only to end with Ikki one-shotting him. I mean, Ikki technically still one-shotted him, but the 2 of them seemed equally matched for most of the fight up until that moment. I guess this is just a small taste of what's to come when they inevitably fight at the tournament, so hopefully that fight is more exciting. I really liked how the animation looked when Ikki charged toward Kuraudo with Tenimuho, so that's a plus. Vercetty said: oh look, an anime where the mc is super op. how nice.. | The Fight was extremely well done. However, more than halfway through the show and we havent seen any real flaws in Ikki and the everything has just been too perfect. Right now it just feel like a Better animated WORLD BREAK with more likeable characters. But i know tht this show can be much better than tht |

The anime actually didn't portray Sword Eater as much of an ass he was in the manga. His fight against Ayase's father was pretty tame compared to how the manga presented it. |
| Very entertaining fight. Ikki's grin throughout it was splendid. Swordeater was pretty tight too. I anticipate an even more epic one later now. |

| Fight was fine, but when we have three straight episodes where Ayase is clearly the female lead and Stella a mere cheerleader I feel very disappointed. I was led to believe the romance in this would be different, but an early confession and a kiss or two mixed with embarrassing public denials ain't good enough, not at all. That aspect of this appears to have been overhyped. :( I'll hold off on lowering my score for now, but please show, more Stella! |

| Eh, honestly, I preferred the last episode over this one, but it at least maintains its quality for the most part. Some of the explanations just felt ham-fisted in the moment, but the animation was awesome, the fight scene was great, and the music was solid. |
