I am simply asking that based on the fact that child pornography or over sexualizing children is banned or regulated to the extreme because of how the THEME psychologically affects people.. | Lolicon is a fascinating topic of discussion because the opinions on it are extremely mixed. Some people view it as child pornography, which I strongly disagree with because child pornography is the exploitation of children...how can you exploit a fictional character that is derived completely from human imagination. I also completely disagree with a lot of laws that are banning lolicon for reasons of child pornography for those same reasons. As long as the viewer isn't subjecting himself to or creating child porn himself or herself, then I don't think it should be completely considered a problem. Is it weird? Well yeah, but so is tentacle rape hentai and that's completely legal. The whole reason for child porn being banned in the first place is to protect children from sexual deviants. I don't see how banning lolicon and arresting those in possession is "protecting children since lolis aren't real people. I'm not sure about the "psychological" issues behind pedophiles and lolicon viewers, but the way I see it, if lolicon prevents pedophiles from actually committing acts, then I'm all for it. I haven't really seen too many studies on just how helpful/harmful lolicon is in that regard though. As for my thoughts on it as a "genre" or "tag," meh. I have mixed feelings about it. I don't find it to be the most satisfying genre or subject matter in regards to anime/hentai viewing, but then again, it might be because I'm an older anime viewer and that demographic just isn't as appealing. Although, I can see why some people would really like it. |
