Great start !
Everything was delightful , from art to story !
Still , I wander...am I the only one who can't figure out why the score this anime has so far is so low?

Firstly, only about 130 people have rated it so far, many of whom probably haven't watched it. Secondly, the initial set of ratings always seems to reflect the popularity of the show, and this show has flown under a lot of people's radars despite being a Watanabe anime.

The rating will probably increase rapidly as more people start watching and enjoying the show. Probably to nearly 9/10 if it keeps this up. Also, just an FYI, the ratings on animelist are biased heavily against older shows (because more critical people will tend to watch them) and biased heavily towards of flavour-of-the-season shows like Attack on Titan and SOA, even if they aren't really very good.

This seems, at least from the first episode, like an anime version of The Matrix.

Pretty good so far.

Ahh my mistake.

Knowing the stereotypes of Japanese school culture, I can see that the girl is bullied by her peers because she is not "normal."
A mother being overbearing is normal too, but for her it is just irritiating.
Like the boys, but for different reasons, the girl cannot seem to find a place for herself within the boundaries of society. She does not belong, and I wager she questions her humanity for it.

I personally don't think the terrorist activity is backed by any concrete principle like yagami light, but rather based on emotion. The maddening feeling of not belonging anywhere, yet here you are, in this space with no clear sense of purpose. Destroy what you can't understand, I suppose.

Edit: if you take the name of the show into account ("Resonance of Terror," resonance meaning amplifying something) the intention of the boys could be to express this "terror" of not belonging through large scale terrorist actions. What better way to prove one's existence right? (not, lol)

This flew by incredibly fast it honestly felt like I watched it for about 5 minutes.

There were a few things that I felt like I needed to question while I was watching but it never gave me a chance because by then the ep. was over.

Sound was great and it's freaking gorgeous to look at.

Hope they can keep it high quality throughout because holy crap.

Forgot to mention that cheeky as hell grin on Twelve, he's going to be such an enjoyable little shit.

I don't want to hype it up, but this could really be the new Death Note.

Some things bothered me though:
The dialogue felt cheesy or forced at times, like when Nine basically told us that Twelve has a great memory.

Also, I really hope that they place a bigger emphasis on strategy and mind games in the next episodes, because the more intense scenes were certainly flashy, but they felt a bit random.

Audio and Visuals are amazing.

I wonder if Mr. Super Writer Gen Urobuchi is somewhere wishing he came up with our two MC's here. The nihilism levels are off the charts with these two as are the fujoshi baiting potential. Other than that I think the directing is the stand out of this episode. Very good use of cinematography and pacing. Will have to see where it goes as far as the writing and I'm still not sure about the MC's beyond the fact that they seem designed to drive fujoshi absolutely wild (maybe I'm just getting a little too cynical though) with their whole tall dark and handsome ice man meets effeminate dorky smiling man personalities and Lisa as the kind of self-insert character that just seems to get shit on by life, wants a way out and/or for her tormentors to suffer and who looks like she'll be used like a tool by these two.

I like Twelve, he's funny. So far he's the most interesting character. He's super silly but he also seems like he wont hesitate to kill.

I wonder how Lisa feels now, basically being coerced into terrosim . She totally can't just go home now. For some reason, I can see this ending with her death.

The soundtrack and visuals were just incredible. The budget must be huge if they are planning on keeping this level of animation up through the whole run.

Episode was intense and over before I knew it. Hard to say where this will go from here, but it has a lot of potential. Hopefully it will deliver!

well that was fucking impressing on almost every front. can't wait to see more of this. wish it was longer than one cour, but i guess that might be too much to ask for for this level of production. i've never been quite as impressed with yoko kanno soundtracks as most people seem to be, but that was absolutely stunning. and i didn't realize this is being directed by watanabe, that makes it a little more interesting.

i do gotta say that i really don't care at all for the style of drawing faces though. when the kid smiled in the pool and the girl is thinking about how its a "smile like the sun" or whatever that was probably the ugliest drawn smile i've ever seen.

all noitaminA animes are 11 episodes.

You mean just 1-cour shows on there. In fact some are 12 and 10 too, and others 22.

Anyway, amazing animation and sound direction. So good. Gives a very surreal and spooky atmosphere that seems so alive and fresh. I love it. Nothing too great has happened but this has potential, eager to see where it'll head towards to. It has a lot of themes and things going on, so I'm wondering if they'll get depth or whatever in the next 10 episodes. But I do hope for a good package in this.

generic?!
just look at the animation and the music, that alone is way above "generic".
and what cliches are you talking about? this anime is about terrorism, which hasn't been done in that way before as far as I'm aware of (especially with that amount of realism - the closest one I can think of is Tokyo Magnitude which has some really stupid drama).

I can see where you get that impression: it's got the serious megane guy, the polar opposite genki guy, the helpless girl, human experimentation, bullying (which is more of a Japanese stereotype rather than an amine cliche), etc.

But the story doesn't rely too heavily on these cliche's, at least so far. I don't think the show is going for too much here, it's very short after all, they can only cover a few themes. I don't object to simplicity nor redundancy. We all know ideas get recycled purposely or inadvertently, it's how you execute it. I disagree on your sentiment that it's generic though. The vibe of the show has been done, definitely, but not to the point of it being generic.

Man, I loved the animation.

And I know I've been saying this for a lot of the series' this season, but this one is the best first episode yet. :D

Ooh, I thought it would just be some brats blowing things up, but there seems to be some kind of sci-fi element involved. Welp, that hooked me.

I really like the silly guy (can't remember his name), but his smile is so goddamn ugly...

Megane-san (can't remember his name either) is a pretty dull character. But I'll put up with him... And look, Megane-san got the typical MC classroom seat! :D

I loved the raid at the beginning, just casually throwing a grenade out of a moving truck. XDD

5/5 so far. Hope it keeps up.

The biggest fuck up this anime could possibly do is have a happy ending.

Or later on trying to justify the MCs actions with some corruption in the government or some forced bullshit moral lesson.

Things are looking great so far, but this type of show has a big chance of fucking up royally.

We are following antagonists, and it better stay that way.
