Icon - yes. Like Focker for some, a memorable character that makes the show distinct. | I think the "Leave the military" expectation Minmay has is a real dealbreaker, so I'm not quite as worried as I was--even though they caused Hayase pain again. Damn, Hikaru! You really can be an insensitive prick most of the time. It was nice to see the bridge babes together with the Zentradi spies again for Christmas Eve. At least some people's relationships seem to be going smoothly. |

| I thought Hikaru was gonna die when I saw that pineapple drop. It would've been cool if they continued using it as a foreshadowing for death how it was with Focker. I guess a bunch of people died so maybe it still was. Macross characters really don't dwell on anything other than relationships, do they? This episode was better than the last few. I still don't understand why Kamujin is living on earth being a nuisance to society like some rogue military otaku. As far as I remember there are still plenty of Zentradi, but maybe I'm forgetting something about that big battle. Maybe since he's somewhat "cultured" they won't interact with him. Really I'm just trying to rationalize him as a shitty, non-threatening, forced plot device. The episode was still quite enjoyable. The bar scene didn't seem to be there for any real plot reason and it was never revealed whether or not Claudia talked to Misa but it was cool to see that line about not having drunk Focker's share to really illustrate Claudia's mentality. |

| Personally, I don't hate or like minmay, I just never care for her as a character in the series. I pretty much skipped all her scenes in the episode. Worth it! The new arc feel like gundam seed destiny where most of the main characters regress or lost a lot of their likable qualities . I mean even Hayase whom normally a very mature and rational character for much of the first 27 episodes was immature and incompetent at her job because she let her jealousy interfere with her duties. |

| I agree Hayase also regresses in this final arc. That said, she regresses a bit less than Hikaru (fuck him) and Minmay... and of course, thing is... in the end, Misa has constantly been the victim every single episode post-27. It's almost as if Hikaru was actually doing everything on purpose just to hurt Misa, because it's just too much. Kaifun is a jerk (though at least he didn't regress... he's been a jerk always), Hikaru is an asshole and Minmay is a spoiled child who's dumber than a bag of hammers. |

| Took another long hiatus from the show. Previous episodes just really put me off and it snowballed into like 6-7 month break? The characters definitely did take a drop in quality, noticed that like 3 episodes after episode 27. They just lose what made them strong or likeable, their character growth, in order to prolong the series. It's as if all the stuff that happened at episode 27 never happened. They just forgot who they were and what they were doing it for. Still holding out hope that Misa still ends up with Hikaru. There's just no way that they could just write off Misa like that with like almost no resistance or real drama. |
| The meta product placement was top notch haha. All the Christmas imagery was nice, and I can only hope this means the end of the incessant love triangle. Time to move on to the finale! |

| In the end, Minmei realized many things, like what being in the military really means. Nice to see those changes displayed or spelled out in this episode. The thing that really annoys me is Hikaru's reaction: despite the relationships reset after the pseudo-finale, he had clearly chosen Hayase again. And now, instead of saying he truth to Minmei, he... gives him false hopes. Kaifun as a threat doesn't work really well. 5/5 Beautiful episode inseveral ways: good drawings, sounds and part of the content. Minmay is so annoying. She's just like a spoiled little child. I wonder if others have seen the same number of episodes as I did... That idol prick thinks only of herself; first she asked Hikaru to join the army to make him leave her free now she wants him back. OK, now I'm sure. I watched a totally different show. XD @CodeBlazeFate Fuu, only one last episode to go. In the end, most of those bonus episodes were bad, but the worst aspect of them was the reactions here. @St0rmblade You're familiar to this lost part of the internet now, you should'nt even be surprised anymore. ;) (nice to feel less alone on this, I knew I wasn't imagining things just because I'm a "Minmei girl".) | Minmay saying she wants Hikaru to leave the military leaves me with the feeling that either Minmay's going to die despite being a civilian, or that Hikaru's going to agree to quit, but then end up getting killed during his last battle. I just can't see that line resulting in a happy ending for both of them Only one ep to go, maybe this series will somehow manage to end on a high note, but man did this last arc ruin Minmay's, Hikaru's, and Misa's characterization. They're all (Misa to a slightly lesser degree) really unlikable in their current states |
| I can't tell who has it worse: Claudia who can't be with Roy since he's gone, or Hayase since she has no chance against Minmay. Oh, and Minmay telling Hikaru to quit the military after telling him to join all the way in the beginning of the show. I know feelings, sentiments, and situations change, but still, bleh. |

Really, is it so difficult to root for Misa and simultaneously understand Minmay's character and her actions? I mean, she did mature. | @St0rmblade Film, my bad I didn't realize how unclear it was. The 3 cuts amount to seconds of material (1h55 instead of 1h55mn55 secs or something). The 2016 release is complete, the 2012 one is where they removed the "violent" pictures. |

Throughout this episode I was getting the feeling that Minmay was maturing while Hayase was experiencing the oppose, particularly she didn't call Hikaru to sortie after eavesdropping on his conversation with Minmay. Hope the show doesn't end up making an antagonist out of Hayase in the final episode, as I really like her as a character. |
