Even prior to the cliffhanger... this episode was intense!

It was like: Is something going to happen? No. Good.

That 'film noir' atmosphere just doesn't lighten up in this series, which is good since it keeps me riveted to the screen.

It was nice the way that Satoru's assertiveness with Kayo has also helped him become better friends with his mates. He reminisces that during his original childhood, his friends never showed up at his birthday and only he and his mom celebrated.

So far I don't have any complaints. The animation is good, the interplay between characters feels natural, the story is intense....... I'm interested in what the 4 or 5 1 star naysayers see wrong with it.

Awesome episode and very enjoyable, they are really trying to keep people guessing on the killer's identity now especially with the red eye hints, now even Hinazuki's mum has red eyes at one point. That ending in school though with the student staring was creepy and made my heart beat fast lol :D

Oh boy...that ending is insane! This is Satoru's final revival and the ending of this episode has to be that?!?!

Someone just release the new episode! These cliff hangers are killing us! Atleast it's not official as to whether its a heart breaker or not...

This series is indeed amazing but one thing bothers me - the fact that Satoru, although he's a 29 years old grown-up stucked in his former 11 years old body, he still acts like a carefree child sometimes. I mean I kind've expected from him to act more inteligent, rational and cautious, taking evey variabile in consideration (I mean the deja-vus should've been some clear warnings for him), due to the fact that this in not his first time experiencing time travel.

It was a really good episode. Cute and heartwarming with a suspenseful ending.
And even though I noticed this since episode one... it's starting to bug me a little now... Satoru looks too much like Kirito...

Good job, Satoru!

First of all, I'm just glad that he managed to stop her to abuse Hinazuki ( for a while, though). And, another point of view from Satoru's mom proving that she still loves her child based on her clothes. Man, I don't even think that aspect.

Her mother has great taste, anyway.

She doesn't like her, these clothes just prove that she is not an idiot. If you dont give nice clothes to your child, people will think there is a problem in your house or you're too poor. Whereas, you give her clothes, everyone will think "what a great mother".
It's the same thing when she caught Hinazuki head and put her in the ice water. She is evil.

This episode was calm and good. But that cliff :(

Hmm, wonder what happened in the end, her mother shouldn't hurt her from now on, right? So, maybe her blonde boyfriend was the killer? But her liking of ice couldn't be just for show, ice and snow has too much in common. Why the killer couldn't be a woman?

It all depends on what Kayo wanted to give him as present and if she did go out at night. And we still don't know what Kayo was helping her mother with.

That deja-vu means nothing good though. It could mean this isn't his first try on changing the past. And this certainly wasn't the first time it happened to him. In the end, I bet he will learn he's partly responsible for both murders.

Edit: And after this episode it's clear his girl-classmate (Misato, is it?) didn't steal the money either. I wonder, was it Kenya then?

And there is another problem with him saving Kayo. By this time she had already lived her whole childhood in direct influence of her violent mother. Now, it's very possible she would take over her manners as growing on turning into even worse version of her. You know, most psychopats were abused as children. In the end MC can regret he saved her. Also, he's trying to save his mother in the first place. But it's very possible that by what he is doing now he just makes that murder happen.

Or there could be no happyend for both mother and Kayo and main hero just need to get over it, this series isn't called "The city without me" for nothing.

I think the main point is that Satoru's job isn't to save Hinazuki, it's to save his mother and possibly Shiratori. The fact that Airi seems to fill Hinazuki's place, both in terms of character and in terms of appearance, supports this.

I'm pretty sure the sensei & Kenya conspiracy is a red herring and the two were 'merely' discussing how to aid the Satoru x Hinazuki ship in the past timeline. Similarly, I suspect the abusive mother & alcoholic boyfriend theme to be a red herring too.

Finally, while I don't think Shiratori is guilty after all, it is clear he knows Hinazuki a lot better than we've been led to believe so far. It's become pretty apparent from this episode that he's given her the 'courage' speech as well. The 'courage' or 'yuuki' theme seems to be very important in general, as, if I'm not mistaken at least, 'yu(u)ki' also means snow.

No. For an example you may think a puppy is cute, and it won't make us think you are sexually attracted towards puppies.

I think this is my favorite episode so far, even if the ending made me almost scream because I KNEW it was coming but I didn't want to be right.
At the beginning I also thought that Hinazuki was kidnapped because she was always alone and wouldn't be missed because she had no friends, so once Fujinuma changed that I really thought they had a chance. UGH.
I take little notes on my phone while watching episodes to remind myself of what I want to talk about and I literally only key smashed when Fujinuma told her she was pretty

+: it always gets me seeing Fujinuma appreciate his mom, Hinazuki obviously opening up more to Fujinuma and his friends and smiling so much more ahhhh

-: none

?'s: i still want to know what the teacher meant by saying he'd take her away from the abuse, because it just sounds like he has other intentions.

I love how Satoru and Kayo's friendship is developing. They have a unique chemistry.

It's cool his mom intervenes just when her mom is about to slap her.

That surprise party. It's so cool they are birthday twins. So happy that his friends are being friendly towards her too.

Everything turns out well until...

The last part.

There's a lot of different theories on time travel / multiple time lines and what not.
Can't really blame him for it because in his eyes, he's been changing all those moments all the time (29y/o old Satoru)

The theory that you mention is the one used in Steins;Gate and in there the rules are that you can't change what's already happened, it will happen eventually.
I could go on about all this but that'd be too much to type, also I want to start the next episode :D
